  • He took this Ray's classic song to another level, even higher.. freaking genius ._.

  • Love this video and Stevie Wonder but, I like Ray Charles singing this better!

  • Um, WHAT the HELL is this title supposed to mean?

  • it's a good thing that the conductor is only for the orchestra.. I think it's quite a task to conduct a blind man

  • Best video on Youtube

  • he's got that crowd... Art, Stevie and Ray are just gods of sound.

  • who s gonna sing 4 u when u die?

  • awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • It is funny how people keep going back to the fact that Stevie Wonder and Ray blind. I believe that these amazing artist could/can see unimaginable beauty. The proof is in their music. RIP Ray and thank you both for your contributions.

  • omg.... amazing :)

  • He can sing man! Love Stevie, Very good performer as well! I've been to two of his concerts, and really enjoyed the show.

  • You go Stevie. This is just magic. What a great tribute to a great man. I would have given anything to be there on that day. Thank you for posting...

  • damn he is a bit bigger if u compare this to his duet with ray living for the city but he if u getting older not his fault he is atleast as great as ever

  • 16 people AIN'T got a woman way over town

  • Thanks Stevie!

  • We should hope we were so loved and honored when we pass. Bless all musicians forever.

  • I'm back to listen to this song yet again, I was so absorbed in this song and getting my funk on i almost fell down the stairs!! Peace out brothers and sisters, peace out!

  • Ray would have loved it

  • YEAAAAHHHHHH! SING IT STEVIE!!

  • Does anybody know if this is on DVD?

  • @singerdavy

Yes it is my dads got it on Bluray.

Unfortunately i cant find where it is and am not too sure of the title sorry, but u can try "Genius: A Night for Ray Charles"

  • @singerdavy Yeah I got the DVD and wathcing it every week.

  • my head exploded after hearing this song!! KABLAAAM!

  • in a word. OUTSTANDING!

  • Peaslee, who gives a shit what rolling stone says the best singers of all time are, and their rank. You realize that is all opinionated, and it is impossible to say who the best singers ever are.

  • 0:49 he looks like a dinosaur

  • They really need to make a movie about Stevie Wonder like they did Ray!!! I think that would be very interesting!!

  • That is Jason Alexander (George) in the audience. He's trying his best to clap on beat, but he's white, what can you expext!

  • @goomba17 I said the same thing.. he is painfully off beat...lmao

  • @goomba17 Yeah man. But he's feeling the groove. That's what matters ;)

  • i'm not taking away any credit from the musical genius that was ray charles, I just personally think this version and what stevie did with this song is amazing and prefer it, one of the greatest vocalists ever.

  • TAKE THAT JAMIE FOXX!!! Let the pros like Ray and Stevie do it. (RIP)

  • this must be the best tribute show all of them are so moved and still full of joy when it comes to singing such perfect songs from a legend for a legend

  • 16 people have NO soul what so ever.

  • Is that Bruce Willis at 4:01?

  • @Dudin4tor Yes ;)

  • @DasFinndelKind I think that guy from Seinfeld might be in the backround too, but that may just be me.

  • WHY DID THEY PREMATURELY STOP HIM AT THE END?!?! GOD DAMN IT HE WENT TO HEAVEN THERE!!!!

  • Well, definetely and most unfortunately, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles are (were) both blind... But it is even more unfortunate that 15 people disliking this video, are DEFINETELY "DEAF"..!!

  • You guys should check out Rolling Stone's Top 100 singers of all time. All the artists that have been mentioned are on there in a relatively arbitrary order--with Aretha, Ray Charles, and Elvis in the top 3. Stevie is at number 9. All the great ones influence the singers that come later.

  • what a voice !!!!!!!!!! beautiful

  • well regardless of what peoples say on this video i think no one will ever master Ray Charles music but the one person who i this can sing it and actually make honor to Mister Ray Charles is Stevie Wonder and not Kanye West he just stains Ray Charles music

  • These two people made people feel good and couldn't even see it. I hope they could at least feel it !

  • che spettacolo st'uomo

  • Stevie Wonder is pure genius. He has musical creativity that neither Elvis, Bing, Sinatra, nor anyone else could touch. That's not opinion, my friend, that's a fact. How dare anyone take a bunch of boring lounge singers, and claim they got anything to offer that's better than Stevie. Elvis and Bing were ok during their time, but even then, they plenty others who were better.

  • @littlenaitch2 I can comfortably say that I am a bigger Stevie fan than anyone I have ever met. I myself am a singer whom he has influenced like no other. With that being said, it is undeniable that Sinatra, Crosby, Davis Jr., Martin, and the the other old crooners of the past are masters of their style and figurative Gods among modern day performers. These men were brilliant performers and singers. You may not appreciate they're style but respect they're work. Stevie wouldn't be here without it

  • @broadwayboricua I'm not denying Sinatra, et al their due, I grew up on them, just like Stevie and all the others. But my problem is when people say that Wonder is just a composer and nothing more,it makes me wonder(no pun intended) if this person has ever even heard him sing. I stand by my opinion, and I got many others, fans and critics alike to back me up on it, that Stevie Wonder is one of the greatest singers of all- time.

  • @littlenaitch2 Oh I totally agree. I commented on the comment about Stevie not being a singer as well.

  • wait...ray charles died?

  • Ray Charles would be proud of you Stevie.......you did him real good.

  • All wonderful music comes from Great Blacks !!!

  • Is this Bruce Willis at the end ? around 4:00

  • @TSC57 yes. i think Bruce actually played at this gig (harmonica)

  • awesome. does any believe there's a price to pay for such genius?

  • Omg, was that Gilderoy Lockhart at 0:41?

  • top song top version

  • 14 people don't have woman!

  • thank's Steevie

  • Stevie, you are amazing!!

  • I am so proud of Ray Charles right now. I love him. Truly.

  • @anabelachaves I too!!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • no body sing Ray's songs that Ray Charles himself

  • AMAZING! Ray would be so proud, Steavi is incredible!

    Hella love you Ray R.I.P!

  • what year was this , i love stevie and hes more my age (last 25 years) but on checking out ray charles , i cant help but feel , ray is were stevie learnt his trade

    and i love them both

  • a tribute just amazing!!!!thx for that....

  • a tribute waow just amzing!!!!

  • i'm one of Stevie's most fanatic people, but this video seems to have gone through pitch-correction/ auto-tune software. His voice has a natural fire, but i hear an extra modification, and perfect notes that just aren't human. Normally, I comment with 100% certainty, but Stevie is special and my idol (Jobim might be second, because i find Stevie's music more pertinent but they might be tied) and not only is THE composer, also a brilliant singer. I still think there's some pitch correction here.

  • @aurelio1204 trust me.. I saw him perform live not so long ago... this guy is pure amazing! without question.. I dont think there is any modification here.. when I saw him I couldnt believe how good his voice was.. I think the problem is we hear so much b.s that when he hear a legend like this guy its hard to believe... but believe it.. hes that great!

  • @carlawon i stand corrected!!

  • @aurelio1204 I beg to differ. I have heard stevie sing a lil off before, and he'll even admit it himself. But I think this has NOT been pitch-corrected during the performance. Otherwise 2:17 - 2:20 would have probably been messed up by the pitch-correction, because it was sung audibly flat. If there's any pitch-correction, it was probably done afterwards. Where in this video did you recognize the pitch-correction?

  • @brunodosreis81 i stand corrected; looking over this along with your comments, he's just a phenomenal singer. Stevie's voice is so solid that it sounds manipulated but, you're all right.

  • that was awesome of Stevie but never forget : to create a car its though not to made it faster , better and more beautyfull = same with a Song RIP Ray Charles, Michael Jackson !!!!

  • Love that cut-throat signal to the drummer to stop after the solo at 1:55!

  • Fuck .....Stevie is AWESOME

  • what a party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Only stevie can get away with saying a womans place is at home... lmao.. legend!

  • @carlawon jajajaja

it depends on the house, right?

  • I'm sorry that was toooo awesome, going going back for seconds...!

  • Comment removed

  • I'm like Bruce Willis at the end....... WOW!

  • Who in the he'll is the ray charles dude?

  • I love Steve and the band but the 1st bass note fail made me lulz

  • @Ridller You're right! At first I thought Stevie went a lil flat during the acapella intro. But no, it was the bass player. Gotta love live music. :D

  • STEVE LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • best cover ever!

  • his voice sounds a little sad sometimes in the intro when he sings bow bow wow wow(...) was that because of his sadness or did he just hit the wrong voice?

  • @ThugSerhat

he was crying, so his voice couldn't keep singing

  • I am 18, and i listen to a lot of the old skool, cos it just BETTER! but if that is not what you call real music, emotion, soul and magic! I dont know what is! THAT WAS........there are no words to describe! ABSOLUTLY, 1 BILLION % AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • People:

Enjoy this musical master piece, this music barely exists today.

  • This is not a Ray vs Stevie. He is singing this song for Ray, for his good friend.

  • steve is the best singer he has so wonderfull voice, he can't make a bad song ! all hi's songs is so good! my inspiration, and i hope he never die cause that would make me very sad! just as sad when MJ Died!

  • @Littledurrey

    just like me

  • LOVE THEM

  • 3:30 Lmao George Castansa XD

  • shame so many people say "geee i think stevie did it better". tisk fucking tisk people... it's not about "who did it better", its honouring a legacy, a memory, and the fabric that wove a culture... individualism, dont forget about that

  • @irszgatti Thank you brother, well said. Wish more people tought like you..

  • vive stevie wonder

  • madness

  • yeah!!!génial!!

  • What can you say after this. Stevie has played with the greats. thank God we still have someone left who knows real music.

  • why is the vid fast forward?

  • besides Ray..there's no one else who can sing this song with the feeling it deserves

  • @Mauricio.....are you on crack none of the ppl you named shouldn't even be in the same sentence with the talent and energy of Stevie wonder let alone Ray Charles, there music catered to a certain group of the population whereas these two crossed all groups of the population.

  • ummm what??

  • He´s a true genius. Saw him 2008 i Sthlm for the second time and he´s the only artist that can make me dance!!

  • WTF!! Someone press FFWD on this video! It seems as though YouTube's update has a bug. This video was fine before that.

  • @brunodosreis81 that was just what I was going to say.

  • the king singing a god's song!!!

  • whats noticeable about stevie is, that his voice and energi hasnt changed since the 80's.. he's still got it. Maybe it's because he must have been the only music superstar around that time that never did drugs

  • This is IT !

  • That band is flat out cranked up!!!

  • This is wonderful!!! We miss you Mr. Charles.

  • He's great ! =)

  • ...now i aint sayin she a gold digger but she cant sing like no ....rip ray

  • AWESOME!!

  • Thank you stevie

  • Rip that harp, Stevie!

  • sounds like a church song!

  • @agood029 Before Ray got a hold of it, it was a church song.

  • @agood029 that was the intention when Ray Charles wrote it

  • this makes my spine tingle.

  • Jep Stevie & Michael I have to say! :D two extremly good voices!

  • @Tinytoni1990 and ray charles as well

  • Befitting tribute to Ray.

  • You go, Stevie!

  • Luther Vandross was a singer with an extraordinary voice

  • amazing

    from germany

  • Completely beyond awesome.

  • At 3:12!! Just amazing!! Thank you Stevie wonder!!

  • 3:12!!!! WOW!!! i couldnt stop clapping haha the one and only stevie!.... ray charles would be proud wherever he is

  • How do i reach theese kiiiiiiids??!! :)

  • Somebody has GOT to educate these young upstarts!

  • I'm 45...

  • Ok, plug this into the search engine of Youtube

A House Is Not A Home (Live!) Luther Vandross

He was a passionate-velvet voiced, handsome, very sweet man. Very loved. I can't believe you've never heard of him. Look to the right of that video and you'll see all the videos of people that sang at his funeral. He died in his early 50's of complications from diabetes oh about 5 years ago now I think.

  • got it!!! Live to know

    thxs.

  • "Who the H is Luther Vandross?"

andy buddy you've GOT to educate yourself. You're missing out.

  • Did you look up Luther Vandross yet. Luther probably the reason you were born. Baby making music they say -

  • @nicerobin Excuse me, but has anyone informed you that this video posting has absolutely nothing to do with Luther Vandross?

  • I am sorry, I never hear about Luther Vandross. Is she any good singer????

  • you mean 'he' ..

  • who knows???

  • Stevie is a one of a kind.

There is NO ONE ELSE like him.

    I couldn't love him more...

    Susie

  • NICE HARMONICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Stevie Wonder is the greatest individual musician ever in pop music. There's no one on his level. The great Elton John wrote in Rolling Stone magazine a few years ago that Elton considers himself to be a good musician, but Stevie is in a whole other league! Three octave voice range, plays multiple instruments, tops in songwriting, improvises with top jazz musicians.... No one's on that level.

  • grossartiger künstler - great artist - :) süper sanatci - :)

  • ray charles does in at this song

  • who sings better than stevie? i haven't heard anyone.

  • I think Luther Vandross was a better Singer. . ... Thats the truth.

  • vandross had a better technique maybe... but stevie's groove is insuperable! when you listen to his music you have to tap your feet...even if your ankle is broken!!!

  • Luther may have more attractive voice timber than Stevie.

but as far as singing technique concerned, stevie is definitely better.

  • Did you look up Luther Vandross yet. Luther probably the reason you were born. Baby making music they say -

  • @Kromminator1 No, it's just your truth. I think there are multitudes of Stevie fans, myself included, who'd disagree with your opinion.

  • @rymand7 There are a lot of crazy singers, you just dont know them ... But stevie is wonderful

  • @rymand7 He is a legend!!!!I don't have words to discribe him!I Just can't say anything!
