"Can I plug this pedal into my modelling amp without hurting it?"
"This pedal has destroyed another pedal."
We're talking guitar level signals going into guitar level inputs, You dorks are talking like this is a fire breathing dragon here. It's a fricking pedal.
This whole modelling generation is not only deaf from the damn iPod's, but they are stupid from listening to the glorified gas station attendants now employed by Guitar Center.
@chaosIsTheOnlyPower , I'm sorry but where not talking guitar level outputs going into guitar level inputs. A booster is like a pre-amp with in some cases a output control.
The Fireball's maximum output level for instance is 7V while a pickup's level varies around 100mV to 1V. So boosters can kill other pedals.........
I do agree about the modeling genaration, sounds like crap....
@silverstar1973 I'll do it as soon as I have the time. A word of warning though, the boosters can destroy other pedals. RPA has completely killed my BOSS DD 3. :D Maybe I need to get the RB pedal to solve that. But what a sound!!
Ok, thanks. Idon't use any distortion pedal because i don't like the thought that the guitar-signal is transposed to another sinus-shape, a tube should do that. This is what a booster does, right? Abusing the first tube in you amp.
@silverstar1973 I just wanted to ask you whether it is possible to plug RPA, RPA Major and HS C into my Vox VT50 without damaging it? It's a modeling amp with a small preamp tube built in the power section. It is not a tube amp.
I would not do that. A treblebooster is only to be put before a tube amp or maybe a tube pedal. No use putting it in front of a modeling amp or any solid state amp. Whats the fun of this modeling crap anyway?
@silverstar1973 It's a great amp. I swear you would barely notice the difference between VT50 on it's AC30TB setting and the real AC30 I've played them side by side. It has one tube, just tube pedals. Jeff Beck's started using it as well :)
Dude, don't bother buying a treble-booster if you plan on running it into a modeling amp. Save your money, buy a decent tube amp, and THEN consider these. Research your gear before buying. These are for guys who keep it simple. Modelers need not apply. When these are used properly, they sound glorious, but we're not talking about a modern distortion sound. Pure, old-school, overdriven amp sound. That's what it's doing... pummeling the preamp-section of your tube amp.
I thought the tone is pretty close, his agression in playing and especially picking is probably 25% of his sound. His pickups and and amp ( +/- 25%). thats why it's so hard (if you wanna copie) to copie. greetz Leon
great sound, have you tried the bsm RG rolly gallagher pedal also? i want a treble booster to play this video's style and gallaghers. althought the last part of your video around 4:20 to 4:40 pretty much sounds like gallaghers sound anyway.
HI GG, the HSC is kind of a treble/mid booster, i think Gallagher is allso a treble/mid boost kind a pedal but there might be less output. Anyway havn't tried the RG, the HSC is tipical early 70's sound and high output (early saturation of amp) greets Leon
thanks leon, yeah i like this kind of treble but also MID boost which is important, i am afraid of getting other pedals that don't push the mids like that. can't try these pedals locally. anyway i am getting a few on ebay and will do some reviews also. thanks so much for the video.
I am a proud owner of the RG pedal, Love it! I had the opportunity to play it thru a Vox AC-30 recently and my strat really shone!
As far as them being "the worlds most expensive run of the mill, treble boosters. " I guess I haven't used all the treble boosters in the world but I love the sound of the RG. Having the gain knob on the side lets you really dial in the gain you want, I'd suggest getting a slightly dirty sound to start with and then adjust the pedal accordingly common sense tho'.
What the hell are you people talking about?

This pedal sounds wonderful with my AC30! On full gain it really is Blackmore's tone in a box. It sounds way better on Vox than Marshall IMHO

Could be, i heard that ac30 react verry good to trebleboosters. Why do'nt you make a video/soundfile and place it?

@VlastaStevanovich I wanted to say "just like tube pedals" it is 12AX7 vacuum tube. How can I contact Mr Bernd from BSM?
VlastaStevanovich 2 years ago
A pre-amp tube in the power section? You might wanna ask Bernd from BSM
silverstar1973 2 years ago
@VlastaStevanovich You don't want to do that.

blackmore must be the hardest tone to copy, and this is nothing like it.
ive not been one bit impressed with bsm pedals. the worlds most expensive run of the mill, treble boosters.
make one yourself for a fiver.

Check out my video "My Ritchie Blackmore Tone"!I think it's pretty close! The booster is very nice and it sounds like Blackmore ,but not enough!

Checked it, can't hear your guitar? The original soud is way too loud to judge it.
