Remember 2005 whwere we went 11-1 (7-1) and finished #3? We needed a Hail Mary to beat Northwestern 34-29. We do good against NW and the Fartans at home, but on the road, we struggle mightily. Only time I remember us blowing out MSU on the road was a not as close as the score 31-22 game in 2005 where they scored a TD + 2 pointer with about a minute left against our backups. But in 1997, unranked MSU took #4 PSU behind the woodshed 49-14. And we know all about the Michigan jinx in Ann Arbor.

Anyways, I hope we beat Minnesota (am I the only PSU fan who despises them?), but they are a thorn in our side, 2005 notwithstanding. Remember 1997 where we were #2 in the Big Ten? We only beat them 16-15 when we were ranked #1, and they finished 3-9 that year AND we had to come back to beat them. And 1999, I'd love to forget that game which began the dark years ever happened. Makes me sick just thinking about it. And MSU and NW, we struggle on the road against them usually.

Well, even when PSU has a bad team, like this year, the crowd packs the stadium and has tons of fun. This team bears an eerie resemblance to the 2003 team, but due to the creampuff schedule PSU has, I could see the Nittany Lions going 5-7 (1-7) instead of 3-9 (1-7) like in 2003. Good luck to Iowa, though. I expect you guys to finish 12-0 (8-0) and play in at the very least the Rose Bowl.

... you think Penn State is going 5-7? i mean i think we all agree they were over rated, but you are high as hell if you think they're going 5-7... they should go 10-2 because theyre schedule is weak, but i could see them going 9-3 at the worst

No, I'm low as hell for thinking PSU is going 5-7 (1-7) or 6-6 (2-6), as a PSU fan, I'm pretty bummed out by how many flashbacks of 2003 I got. Iowa (who finished #8) only beat us 26-14 in Kinnick that year BTW. I'm actually giving them 5-6 wins because of their creampuff schedule. If they had a tough schedule, they would probably go 3-9 (1-7) all over again, just like 2003. I really hope you're right, but I right now just hope we make a bowl. But this PSU looks identical to the 2003 team.

I can only see 2 more possible losses. Ohio State and Michigan will be the two teams that Penn State will either earn respect back against or make the season a bust. we always play ohio state hard, but we have a history of playing crapy against michigan (like iowa) but if we can win out the season theres no reason we shouldnt win the big 10. i cant see iowa winning the rest of there games against big 10 teams. they arnt a bad team, but i still dont think they are a good team.

I see us losing to Minnesota (they can pass well), Northwestern (ditto, plus it's a road game), Michigan (as you said, they own us, and they can throw), Ohio State (but this will be very close, Pryor can't pass, so we may have a shot at upsetting them, how sweet would that be?) and losing to Michigan State (we often choke in East Lansing, 1997 anyone?). I see us beating Illinois (bad team, road game or not) Eastern Illinois (of course) and Indiana (we own Indiana with a 12-0 record over them).

But still Minnesota struggled against Syracuse and Mich State is struggling this year as well (that game was a ton of fun last year btw) i just cant see us losing to Minnesota or Mich St. Northwesterm... id like to think that we should beat them but we have had trouble with them b4 and am I the only one who thinks that Royster fumbles a ton? we all know that fumble against Iowa mixed with that ball that went right through his hands to a defender might have cost us the game but he fumbles a lot

I think Royster is decent, Green is the one I think can't hang onto a football. I know Minnie Mouse and Northwestern struggled with Syracuse, but remember last year Iowa lost to Illinois and Michigan State, two teams we slapped around. Similarly this year, we blew out Syracuse, but that was at home, those games were on the road. Who knows how we'd have done at the Carrier Dome? We're a much different team on the road (2008 @ Wisconsin notwithstanding). I hope I'm wrong though about my prediction

idk.. id like to know how many fuumbles Royster has had at his time with PSU. nothing a google search cant handel i guess. but i think the main thing we do agree on is that Penn State is a rediculously inconsistant team. too bad the team wasnt always as good as the fans though huh?

That's true. 2003 and 2004 we still packed the stadium even through all you had to do was score more than the Red Sox to beat Penn State those years.
