no there isn't, iMovie has a very little amount of effects to do in your videos. You can get more effects on Final Cut or Final Cut Express, which are video editing softwares for macs, but they are also pretty expensive though. Final Cut is around $1,000. Final Cut Express is around $200
@TheJBSJProductions The 08 release was pretty basic with not many effects. The 09 version is much better. You can speed up or slow clips, do green screen and crop effects. It is still a bit strange to use but I must admit I am starting to warm to it. However, it seems to be aimed at short videos to go on youtube etc. For proper editing you need to use something such as Final Cut.
i don't really use music in most of my videos because i dont have my songs on my mac. I know this sounds really crappy, but if you have the songs on your ipod, you can put the headphone next to the mic on the top of the computer and do a voiceover with your volume way up on your ipod, the end result really isn't that bad
I'm new to the whole MAC experience, so, I may seem a bit dumb about all this, so please bear with me. How do I transfer my videos to my external hard drive so that I can mess around with them at a later date??
i myself, haven't loading music into a video through the computer, because i have all my songs on my windows computers, but you can record it as a voiceover and it comes out just as good. Click on the icon that looks like a microphone and if you have headphones, place them next to the microphone on top of the computer and play the song as you record.
im glad you learned more about imovie 08. as far as the effects go imovie really doesn't have anything, but there is an apple movie software called final cut or something like that, unfortunately its around $500
when you have imovie open you'll see 4 buttons below the video preview screen, click on the one with the 'T' on it and choose your kind of text and appearance you want, then drag it on or outside of the video clip you want it on and edit the text in the video preview screen
do you mean like putting it on youtube? or emailing it?
if it's either of those i can tell you how
Heres how:
When you're using iMovie '08 there will be tabs at the top of your screen that say things like 'file, edit and share' click on share and click on the source you want to share it to (like youtube, facebook, etc.)
People are not prepared to pay $1000 dollars for Final Cut Im certainly not.
