  • heh the Haka in Rugby has come alomng way, so much passion and intensity in it thesedays while this was just awful

  • @SINSSTER So true. And it's largely down to Wayne "Buck" Shelford who in 1987, at the world cup, pushed for the Haka to be done properly and with respect or not at all. He made the team practice it and take it seriously. You can see in this footage that most of them don't have a clue what to do or even seem embarassed about doing it. Now, the Haka is given the respect that it deserves.

  • @lilymacsification We owe Buck alot not only a great player but he brought respect to the haka.

  • LOL! That is the gayest thing I have ever seen!!! My God! IF I was there I would've just fell down and died in the stands after watching them.

  • worst haka ever

  • That's the funniest thing I've ever seen, I swear! What's with the 'scary ghost arms' posture?!? Oh, how times have changed! For better or worse i don;t know... ;-)

  • @bushtukkayarns Its a cultural war dance, done for many years in all different forms an variations, the maori use to do it in the bushes waiting for the British to venture in to the unknown.

  • Yea they dont the haka like this for years until about 1986 or so when Buck Shelford put some passion into it. Im sure the white boys of them eras didnt want to do it but had to because of Nzru politics etc.

  • mouahahahahahahahahaah nnuuulll!!!!!!!!!!l

  • It's funny, not scary !!! Is that normal ?

  • they haven't invented muscles yet in 1973

  • ali williams would be spitting fire watching this crap

  • White men can't haka.

  • Are they all trying to learn air guitar?

  • wow, awesome. craaack up

  • That's what the springboks see everytime we play NZ!

  • ma parono malati

  • Flippin moffie haka

  • It looks like they are all learning it as they go along.

  • 1973? They were probably on LSDs then...

  • They probably bet the shite out the opposition that day too. Somethings never change

  • They look like a bunch of nerdy accountants at a disco after a confrence. They defantly put a bit more oomf into it these day's

  • @colinblogs Yea but the All Blacks of those eras were one of the best teams as well, if not the best, Wales an South Africa were along side them, Australia rugby at that time was still lacking.

  • @colinblogs i am an accountant, but your comment is excellent !!!!!!!!! jajajajajajajajaja

  • very intimidating

  • The Australians should just head bang for a bit and then moon the other team

  • Looked like only one guy knew the moves and the others just copied off him

  • Oh dear, haha! That's what happens when you only pick middle class white boys. Always preferred the Kiwi rugby league hakas for their authenticity.

  • Ha ha FAIL

  • Haka campese

  • Haka cam ewe

  • Also it changes dramatically over time... I looked at the 2003 haka today and I was like "WTF IS THIS SHIT!???"

  • @ZarakyeRunescapeShow There are different haka's

  • Oh for god sakes! Its just because the haka wasn't a big thing for rugby back then, Look at the 1987 haka (Buck Shelford leads) and its not even that much better, And look at the 1922 haka... All there doing is slapping there legs.

  • @ZarakyeRunescapeShow : "There" is a difference between "there", "they're" and "their". There = over 'there' in the kitchen. They're = they are. Their = it is 'their' haka / it is their rugby ball, etc. You can't use the same word for all three: it will either show your ignorance or stupidity. Need any more lessons, just give me a shout. I'll try and help you avoid making an arse out of yourself. Your sentence should read: 'All they're doing is slapping their legs'. Trust It's clarified now.

  • @1976gert Haha im sure most people that read what is written can read between the lines an work out what they are trying to say, people that come on things like youtube an try to school people, you are the only one that makes an arse out of yourself by trying to correct people on a message board, I give you a A+ for nerd factor.

  • What a bunch of pussies

  • ça manque encore un peu d'entrainement, leur choré :)

  • @bushtukkayarns Oh dont get so worked up. Its quite entertaining. Its supposed to be a friendly intimidation..

    So dont put it down.

"War haka (peruperu) were originally performed by warriors before a battle, proclaiming their strength and prowess in order to intimidate the opposition. Today, haka constitute an integral part of formal or official welcome ceremonies for distinguished visitors or foreign dignitaries, serving to impart a sense of the importance of the occasion."

  • How gay was that !!

  • FAIL

  • well im glad they have refined it atleast some of them were dancing

  • Whahahaaa What a JOKE!! I don't think there is even one person in-sync. An I'm talking about their minds! LMAO

  • talk about embarrasing

  • one of the best things i've ever seen

  • @ TheMattyc1957 most people would be respectful during a national anthem so it's only fair to do the same for a haka. What some people don't understand is that a genuine haka doesn't just empower the people doing it, people around it should draw strength from it as well. A haka introduces a spine tingling focus to all people including opposition and spectators...

Mind you, the above so-called haka carried little mana and would have added little benefit to this game.

  • @KroganSpectre a haka has as much to do with rugby as a national anthem does.

Although a national anthem may be more familiar to people globally, in NZ and the pacific islands a haka can be just as important. Different versions of haka (NZ name) are often performed before important occasions both non-sporting and sporting. Domestically in rugby, a haka may be performed prior to matches between 1st15s, armed forces, police, & tangata whenua teams etc.

It's part of PI & NZ rugby.

  • What a joke! The Haka is a side-show and should be banned from games! It has nothing to do with rugby! Pathetic!

  • Thumbs Up if you thought this was another Monty Python skit.....
