It existed before, I found it when I built the woodshed. You were close, it was an underground water cistern for an on school house. The school house is long gone now, it functioned here in the early 1900s and shut down around 1950. The area use to be an old mining town, there are many old abandon mining shafts still open around here.
Did that room exist before or did you make it? Looks almost like a storm shelter or a old underground septic tank from long ago on farms...
