HELP! so i had a keliod scar on my arm . had my ears pierced and i took my piercing outs and i'm feeling lumps on my ear lobes i'm hoping it's not a keloid or i'm hoping i can prevent it from getting really big and gross! so should i keep my ear ring in or leave it out ? i'm going to buy some tea tree oil online but i don't know what i should do in the mean time!
THEY ARE NOT KELOIDS! they are what is called a Granuloma. it's a infection that causes granulated tissue to form into a small, soft lump, it is not a keloid, a keloid is hard and does not go down in size without the use of strong steroid cream, if you have a bump on or very close to your piercing, you need to clean it with warm salty water till the swelling goes down, sometime it can happen from crap jewellery or playing with it too much in the early healing process...
this is an amzing tip!!!! i found a keloid and started treating it with sea salt water and hot compresses which made it worse!! i then started the tea tree which helped but not much. I then found this tip and have been doing a tea tree wash and aspirin paste whilst im home or in bed and there has been a massive improvement overnight!!!!! i no longer look like i have a second head growing out the side of my nose!! thank you sooo much. Thanks so much :)
idk what to do..ive had my cheek piercings for almost a year, and theres like a ball right next to the piercing, i guess a keloid, but its INSIDE my skin like its not visible, but i can feel it .i want it to go away >:/
Actually it's hypertrophic scarring on peircings. Keloids can be mistaken for hypertrophic scarring easily. You see Keloids won't go away without medical injections and hypertrophic scarring will with treatment. Any paste isn't good for the scarring. You should know that though. Hydracortisone cream is the best way!
I used alchol, it dried it out and went away, but do it again so after it's gone to make sure it does not come back this is what Purple Scorpian told me.
does that mean we will be able to leave in our piercing? i have one developing on the lower part near my industrial bar and i'd hate to have to remove this piercing after having it for 2 years.
would this work because i got my nose pierced and there's a bump around it...i was told to soak it in epsom salt. i have been doing that for like 6 months and its not working. :/ does tea tree oil work on nose piercing cysts/keloids?
@technoraverr It's excess skin, just rinse with alcohol-free mouthwash for a week straight at least twice a day and it should be gone with 2 weeks at the most.
unfortunately i have some keloids in my ear. they totally ruined my beautiful industrial piercing!! i went to my piercer twice to get rid of it, and it worked at first, but they went back after a couple of days...
I'm gonna try that aspirin with lemon juice thing now.
THIS IS FUCKING WHY SHIT PIERCERS SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO MAKE FUCKING INFORMATIONAL VIDEOS, YOU NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER PUT FUCKING ASPRIN ON A KELOID EVER, NOR FUCKING TEA TREE OIL, IF YOU AS A FUCKING DERMATOLOGIST THEY WILL TELL YOU VITAMIN E OIL AND/OR COCO BUTTER, PURE NOT A LOTION AND ORGANIC VITAMIN E NOT dl-alpha trecherphorl. but sense its a fucking faggot on youtube he is going to give WRONG ass information.
@rapstarchick i've read that on piercings, its really not good to use the ear cleaner that claire's gives you. that goes for any kind of version of ear cleaner. wash it with anti-bacterial dial soap, soak it with a mix of sea salt and warm water and use a cottonball to press and apply, and listen to this guy.
@rapstarchick I have an industrial and I have a keloid on the top. From previous piercings, I have actually purchased some of their antiseptic. It does help prevent swelling and infection, but only for lobe piercings. For the industrial, the tea tree oil has to be probably the best solution because it really helps get rid of keloids. Another tip is that if you get a buildup of scar tissue, you can try using emu oil.

I have had my cartilage pierced since December 31st 2010, it is now July 21st 2011, I have tried the seat salt soak thing, and it still hasn't gone away, It hurts so much sometimes when I sleep that I have to take the earring out. The bump has gone down a little bit, but it's still there. and it still hurts. Is there anything I can do? Thanks.
Blllaahhhhhhh. i've had this ear piercing for about 7 months now and 2 months ago this keloid crap came up & idk what to do. im having a legit heartattack
I had one when I first got my cartilage pierced and all I did was put the ear cleaner (that the tattoo shop gave me)on it none stop for about a week or so.It worked great :D

I got Keloids on my ears..Had to get shots and then burned off..You know why I got em..I pierced my ears myself XD...Yet when I did my nose myself and it was fine
eveeryone listen!! im only fifteen and iv had a keloid for 3 years its the size of a small bead and iv benn hearing that tree oil works so i gave it a try it wanly 9 bucks, iv been a week and its starting to dry up and flatten soon it will be gone this works!
@Silvereric05 Thanks for your comment! I got a piercing and I've had this bump on my cartilage for almost 2 years now. I thought nothing could get rid of it. I'm definitely going to give it a try!!
i got my nose pierced a year and a half ago and i had one bad.
but when i got my nose ring changed it went away.
i used sea salt peroxide and liquid anti bacterial soap.
I DONT ADVISE THIS! it dried out my skin around my nose bad but it cleared the keloid up and it got rid of the slight infection i had.
i made the mistake of not doing research also. i went to a crappy piercer that did it wrong and then when i had him change it he put in a bigger nose ring. messed my nose up :(
@BeautyxxLicious I got my nose pierced about 4 years ago. A bump on the inside of my nose also formed around the side of my piercing...but went down within two weeks or so. I think it is normal. Just make sure your cleaning around your piercing and not using rubbing alcohol because I heard it dries out the area around your piercing and can slow down the healing process. However, if that bump doesn't go away soon i'd deffinitely get it checked just incase.
you are very well informed i like your videos im a body piercer in ny i own a shop been piercing about 9 years you sound like you know your shit best thing ive seen on you tube yet great job man :) where the shop located ?>
I have a keloid that is forming around my vertical hood piercing, which is weird b/c it started forming well after the piercing was healed. I don't want to lose the piercing but I don't want the keloid to get any bigger... Will leaving the piercing in cause the keloid to continue to grow, or should I remove it?
omg i haave one on my belly pircing :( ,, its a size of a pimple ,, ppl tell me it wont go awaay , and im soooo scared i hope it does cs it looks really ugly :( ill try this ways hope it works ,, tnx :)
@MegaOrangechicken not necessarily. (from what i've been told) you can have an infected piercing with a keloid, or a keloid with a perfectly healthy piercing. as long as you clean it often and when you're supposed to, keloids aren't really related to infection. infection would be redness, swelling, and puss.
@eatenbydinosaurs few weeks ago something that was big like a pimple appear on my finger so i use tea tree oil and it was gone in a few days.it itch allot when the tea tree oil was causing it to disappear.what i had must of been an infection but it never had puss.im confuse..i dont know what it was.
@pikkunemmi not a good idea to cut it yourself .remedies are better.im getting a surgery for my huge kelooid in a few months but im also getting radiation.im using this oil on smaller scars and it is working. The oil is pretty strong which i like.My huge keloid use to be small like a mole[it was chiken pox.it didnt itch or hurt at this time,it still look like a chiken pox] over 10 yrs ago
@pikkunemmi and if i knew about this tea tree oil the chiken pox would of been gone in a week or so because the scar was still fresh. At the time Injections, pressure garments, slicone sheets made it grow big very fast
I'm glad that somebody that does piercing is giving information on keloids, because it's really scary for people who have no clue what they are! I hope that at your shop you have information for clients that are getting piercings so that they know what they are before hand, and how they can treat them if they do get them. But nice video, very informative and simple! ;)
Uhm...i'm pretty sure Keloids are only treatable by an injection of cortisone or some other treatment by a doctor. Do you mean to say hypertrophic scarring?
i hav a lil bump inside my nose n now my piercing wont go through.it goes halfway but the bump prevents it frum going through.n im mad becuz i didnt waste my money for nuthing.wat do i do?any1?
@MissHeatherw1 your bump on your ear i used teetree oil 3 times a day and then did the asprin and lemon juice it worked for my nose, try the same on your ear but not twist the earing gently clean with a cotton bud and leave do not squeeze the bump or you will make it bigger it took 3 months for my bump to go and i tried everything until i saw this method it will work ...
ok..i have like a little knot near my eyebrow ring and it fills with puss (yes yes i know its sick lol) so ya know..i pop it? and it jus comes back!! idk if its cause my eyebrow ring is infected or its just there?? been there for a few months now and idk wut to do !! pleaseee message me or comment back!
And if you have a small bump on a piercing and it isn't growing out of control and does respond to these treatments, it is most likely that what you have is NOT A KELOID.
@gogoVEGAN i agree with you, i went to my doctor the other day to see what the bump by my pericing acctually is, and it's not a keloid, but he said it makes sence why i would think it was one, because they are similar.
My point is that using these things removes the symptom, but not the cause of the bump. You must figure out what the cause of the lump is, but often the culprit is sleeping on, snagging, touching, or rotating the jewelry of the piercing. Chemicals from your personal care products can also cause these lumps to occur. If you really want it to go away, do proper aftercare and it will likely subside. If it still persists, you can try this as a last resort, but the bump may return.
I took my navel ring out @ 2 days ago. I had a discharge draining from the piercing and i am pretty sure that a keloid has developed there also. Is it safe to have it re-pierced and how long should I wait to do so?
hey is it OK to put tea tree oil on a keloid on in your mouth because i got my tongue pierced and i have the keloid around it so is it safe to put it in your mouth reply asap i'v had this problem for a while
hey is it OK to put it on a keloid on in your mouth because i got my tongue pierced and i have the keloid around it so is it safe to put it in your mouth reply asap i'v had this problem for a while
@12375931 i dob't think that it is a good idea.Don't put it in your ear
drum or eyes either. This oil burns and it isn't like anything I have use before.I have to put vasiline on my healthy skin because it made my skin dark and rough around the keloid, the oil does the same thing to the keloid.my bottle says for external use only.
i GOT ONE LIKE 3 WEEKS AFTER I GOT THE PIERCING. i USE TEA TREE OIL CHAMOILE W.E. SOAKS HOT WATER SOAKS AND H2OCEAN EVERYTHING THAT THE INTERNET PROVIDES I HAVE USED AND THIS BUMP WON'T GO AWAY IT SUCKS AND ITS UGLY I CHANGED THE JEWELERY AS WELL... DID THAT HELP NOOOOOOO! iTS PERMANENT AND I TELL NO ONE TO GET A PIERCING ESPECIALLY AN INDUSTRIAL
@XcassiecassX yea ive taken it out along time ago and it went completely away i just couldn't stand it anymore it went away like the next day after taking the jewlery out
ok so i fink i av got a keloid on my belly from piercing, but iam not sure.. about a week ago, i used tea tree oil and bio oil, along wif salt water, and within 2 days it was shrinking. is this a keloid? iam not too sure. p.s i have tragus and cartilage piercing too and these dont have keloids around them. writeee backk x
i have a double tongue piercing and it has keloids on both undersides. i dont think tea tree oil would be ok to use, because the keloids are in my mouth. should i try the asprin mixture? how exactly do i make it?
once again, please, please help, its so uncomfortable!
I managed to get rid of one with tea tree but still have one left that isn't affected so while tea tree oil is great it isn't a 100% cure, basically you've got to rub tea tree oil onto the keloid inside & outside if you want & massage it for a good few minutes every morning & night for like a year, no if's or buts or skipping out a few days here & there. Yes seriously it takes that long & that much effort & patience to get rid of them this way. I will never get my ears pierced again!!!!!!
okay i bought tea tree oil and i have this bump or keloid w.e. the fuck its called sorry but this keloid is annoying where do i put this tea tree oil on the inside of where my bump is or on the outside and move my hoop so the tea tree oil gets inside???? respond asap plz!!!!
what about Tylenol it help aye bit i broke up some caps and mix it with lemon juice then got aye new tooth brush and brush the lump on my piercing and it went down aye lil!
@yyymystrygirl thats prob just built up scar tissue not a keloid. Keloids are pretty rare. I have bumps on my helixes.. theyre just built up scar tissue.
do saline soaks and hot compresses and it should go away.
It must say ASPIRIN on the package. Aspirin is not the same as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If you must use aspirin, stick with Bayer or ask the pharmacist to direct you to the aspirin if you're confused.
The reason Aspirin works, is because it is an acid. If you create the paste and apply it to the bump, it essentially burns/kills the tissue it is in contact with.
REMEMBER: This method treats the SYMPTOM but does not resolve whatever underlying issue is really causing the bump.
@gogoVEGAN keloids can go away with tea tree oil.this oil is strong,it has to be
used everyday untill it is flat and stops growing. The keloid on my leg that is long like my finger is being flatten by the oil.The oil makes the keloid look like it is burn and it makes it scab and my skin peels off all the time.I try it for over a month and i hope by 1 year or so it would go away.
@cherri7 In this situation we're talking about using this oil on a piercing, which if not completely healed would be categorized as using internally...which it says not to do right on the product packaging. Most of these people are talking about hypertrophic scarring which can be mistaken for keloids even by experienced professionals, and DO reduce over time and with the use of topical oils and ointments. It is easy to mistake the two unless you know what specific things to look for.
@gogoVEGAN no that's not categorized as iinternally.I guesss that
you never used the oil before.on the net it say that you can do many things with the oil like using it on your cuts[ which i believe the minor cuts],lice, chicken pox,and etc.If i had use the oil on my chicken pox that didn't go away over 10 years ago i woould not have a huge keloid today.the oil is very good at getting rid of new keloids like that quickly because it was on top on the skin.
@cherri7 The package might not say do not use on a piercing, but an unhealed piercing is a puncture wound...most things you use on cuts, scrapes and burns are not to be used on puncture wounds, because it can exacerbate issues or cause problems.
@cherri7 in addition, it is easy to mistake progress due to the product with progress due to the natural process your body undergoes to transform the scar tissue into healthy normal skin again. It takes up to 1 year for scar tissue to fully mature, so if you say it took 1 year for a scar to go away, it may very well just be your body that did it, not the oil. Keloids don't follow this pattern, and can keep growing over long periods of time.
@gogoVEGAN no i still have the keloid .i just started using the oil a month ago,It is getting flatter and it isn't my body that's doing it.I only said that I think it might take a year for it to go away because of the good progress i'm making .I had this keloid surgically removed about 3 years ago and another keloid form.other things didn't work for the keloid but only tea tree oil.i did allot of research on keloids and keloids can stop growth with effective treatments.
i had ear pierceing over 10 years ago and i had to take out the earrings because i got small bumps which i call hypertrophic scars now .on one ear i have to feel my earlope to feel the tiny bump inside[it isn't visible so the bump isn't a big deal] and on my other ear the bump in the earlobe is bigger so I can see small bumps[small like a tiny wart] on each side of the earlobe.
I can use the oil to make the visible bumps on that earlobe go away with time but i can't get rid of a part of the bump that underneth the skin of that earlobe.Hope that makes sence,...basically the bump form in all areas where the earring went through. Therefore hypertrophic scars has disadvantages too.i can't put earrings in.I can't use earrings anywa because i can get keloids.
@gogoVEGAN i know they're not really soft either; mine is hard and it will NOT go away with tea tree oil. idk what they're talking about but that's not what a keloid is..
i remember my first piercing..i was in middle school..my friend did it for me with a needle and im lucky it didnt got infected...but now im grown and get my piercing done by professionals
i had a keloid belly button piercing & it's been there for over a year now...i used apple cider vinegar & the baking soda/peroxide & neither worked..then i tried the tea tree oil & aspirin paste & its went down a lot...yay!!
ive used hydrogen peroxide, alcahol, sea salt soaks and tea tree oil and nothing has worked :( i have a small one on my nose ring :( so i went to someone who told me to use fresh garlic and mince it up add a shot glass amount of olive oil and make it into a paste, i just tried it and if anyone is curious im documenting the results via vids on my channel so keep updated :)

MrsTinkerbellCIA 11 months ago
i got my nose pierced a year and a half ago and i had one bad.
but when i got my nose ring changed it went away.
i used sea salt peroxide and liquid anti bacterial soap.
I DONT ADVISE THIS! it dried out my skin around my nose bad but it cleared the keloid up and it got rid of the slight infection i had.
i made the mistake of not doing research also. i went to a crappy piercer that did it wrong and then when i had him change it he put in a bigger nose ring. messed my nose up :(
xXMMFWCL4LXx 11 months ago
@BeautyxxLicious I got my nose pierced about 4 years ago. A bump on the inside of my nose also formed around the side of my piercing...but went down within two weeks or so. I think it is normal. Just make sure your cleaning around your piercing and not using rubbing alcohol because I heard it dries out the area around your piercing and can slow down the healing process. However, if that bump doesn't go away soon i'd deffinitely get it checked just incase.

I have a keloid that is forming around my vertical hood piercing, which is weird b/c it started forming well after the piercing was healed. I don't want to lose the piercing but I don't want the keloid to get any bigger... Will leaving the piercing in cause the keloid to continue to grow, or should I remove it?

The oil is pretty strong which i like.My huge keloid use to be small like a mole[it was chiken pox.it didnt itch or hurt at this time,it still look like a chiken pox] over 10 yrs ago
cherri7 1 year ago
@pikkunemmi and if i knew about this tea tree oil the chiken pox would of been gone in a week or so because the scar was still fresh. At the time Injections, pressure garments, slicone sheets made it grow big very fast

I'm glad that somebody that does piercing is giving information on keloids, because it's really scary for people who have no clue what they are! I hope that at your shop you have information for clients that are getting piercings so that they know what they are before hand, and how they can treat them if they do get them. But nice video, very informative and simple! ;)

Most of the time, it's not actually a keloid. It's usually a hypertrophic scar that happens on the piercing.

And if you have a small bump on a piercing and it isn't growing out of control and does respond to these treatments, it is most likely that what you have is NOT A KELOID.
gogoVEGAN 1 year ago
@gogoVEGAN i agree with you, i went to my doctor the other day to see what the bump by my pericing acctually is, and it's not a keloid, but he said it makes sence why i would think it was one, because they are similar.
XcassiecassX 1 year ago
My point is that using these things removes the symptom, but not the cause of the bump. You must figure out what the cause of the lump is, but often the culprit is sleeping on, snagging, touching, or rotating the jewelry of the piercing. Chemicals from your personal care products can also cause these lumps to occur. If you really want it to go away, do proper aftercare and it will likely subside. If it still persists, you can try this as a last resort, but the bump may return.

@12375931 i dob't think that it is a good idea.Don't put it in your ear

I managed to get rid of one with tea tree but still have one left that isn't affected so while tea tree oil is great it isn't a 100% cure, basically you've got to rub tea tree oil onto the keloid inside & outside if you want & massage it for a good few minutes every morning & night for like a year, no if's or buts or skipping out a few days here & there. Yes seriously it takes that long & that much effort & patience to get rid of them this way. I will never get my ears pierced again!!!!!!

PS - Ibuprofen is NOT the same thing as aspirin.
gogoVEGAN 2 years ago
@gogoVEGAN is it ok to use asprin like alieve or advil
golddigg3r8000 2 years ago
It must say ASPIRIN on the package. Aspirin is not the same as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If you must use aspirin, stick with Bayer or ask the pharmacist to direct you to the aspirin if you're confused.
The reason Aspirin works, is because it is an acid. If you create the paste and apply it to the bump, it essentially burns/kills the tissue it is in contact with.
REMEMBER: This method treats the SYMPTOM but does not resolve whatever underlying issue is really causing the bump.
gogoVEGAN 2 years ago
Keloids are NOT little bumps that go away with tea tree oil or aspirin paste.
Ugh.
gogoVEGAN 2 years ago 2
@gogoVEGAN keloids can go away with tea tree oil.this oil is strong,it has to be
used everyday untill it is flat and stops growing. The keloid on my leg that is long like my finger is being flatten by the oil.The oil makes the keloid look like it is burn and it makes it scab and my skin peels off all the time.I try it for over a month and i hope by 1 year or so it would go away.
cherri7 1 year ago
@cherri7 In this situation we're talking about using this oil on a piercing, which if not completely healed would be categorized as using internally...which it says not to do right on the product packaging. Most of these people are talking about hypertrophic scarring which can be mistaken for keloids even by experienced professionals, and DO reduce over time and with the use of topical oils and ointments. It is easy to mistake the two unless you know what specific things to look for.
gogoVEGAN 1 year ago
@gogoVEGAN no that's not categorized as iinternally.I guesss that
you never used the oil before.on the net it say that you can do many things with the oil like using it on your cuts[ which i believe the minor cuts],lice, chicken pox,and etc.If i had use the oil on my chicken pox that didn't go away over 10 years ago i woould not have a huge keloid today.the oil is very good at getting rid of new keloids like that quickly because it was on top on the skin.
cherri7 1 year ago
@cherri7 The package might not say do not use on a piercing, but an unhealed piercing is a puncture wound...most things you use on cuts, scrapes and burns are not to be used on puncture wounds, because it can exacerbate issues or cause problems.
gogoVEGAN 1 year ago
@gogoVEGAN your right,it shouldn' be safe to use on ears like that
cherri7 1 year ago
@cherri7 in addition, it is easy to mistake progress due to the product with progress due to the natural process your body undergoes to transform the scar tissue into healthy normal skin again. It takes up to 1 year for scar tissue to fully mature, so if you say it took 1 year for a scar to go away, it may very well just be your body that did it, not the oil. Keloids don't follow this pattern, and can keep growing over long periods of time.
gogoVEGAN 1 year ago
@gogoVEGAN no i still have the keloid .i just started using the oil a month ago,It is getting flatter and it isn't my body that's doing it.I only said that I think it might take a year for it to go away because of the good progress i'm making .I had this keloid surgically removed about 3 years ago and another keloid form.other things didn't work for the keloid but only tea tree oil.i did allot of research on keloids and keloids can stop growth with effective treatments.
cherri7 1 year ago
i had ear pierceing over 10 years ago and i had to take out the earrings because i got small bumps which i call hypertrophic scars now .on one ear i have to feel my earlope to feel the tiny bump inside[it isn't visible so the bump isn't a big deal] and on my other ear the bump in the earlobe is bigger so I can see small bumps[small like a tiny wart] on each side of the earlobe.
cherri7 1 year ago
I can use the oil to make the visible bumps on that earlobe go away with time but i can't get rid of a part of the bump that underneth the skin of that earlobe.Hope that makes sence,...basically the bump form in all areas where the earring went through. Therefore hypertrophic scars has disadvantages too.i can't put earrings in.I can't use earrings anywa because i can get keloids.
