Gary Patterson will be recruiting in a bcs conference in 2012. Just based on that, they are here to stay. And next year they may not be this dominant because they lose Andy Dalton, Jeremy Kerley and others, but in 2012 they'll be right back. You can argue about their schedule all you want, but the fact of the matter is going undefeated in the big east, no matter how weak the conference is, would force the system to let the frogs in the NCG. and complaining about it won't change anything.

We played three years ago. It was, as it usually is, a thumping. Texas has home/homes scheduled with USC, Notre Dame, Maryland, and BYU. TCU doesnt offer the gate, the opportunity, or the exposure that those schools do. We don't need TCU...we already own the state, with regards to recruiting. And that is truly WHY you schedule various programs to do home/homes with: to get a recruiting advantage. Why else do you think Arkansas/LSU come here???

There's always gonna be a bigger stadium and attendance figure for a state school than private. In UT's case, they're by far the biggest school in Texas. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it's just lame when UT or anyone in the Big 12 has a down year, and has to resort to attendance smack. It's got nothing to do with the team on the field.
@SouthTexasHeadbanger They have the same amount of undergrads, but with grad students, UT is currently 49,096, while TAMU is 44,910. Not a huge difference, but a noticeable one.
TCU jumped at the best option for their athletic program. With BYU and Utah leaving the conference we needed to jump ship too. Even though the donkeys and Nevada are coming here thats not enough to justify staying. The bottom line is the Big East was the only conference with a AQ that would invite us in. They did it to improve their credentials. Others like SEC don't want a TCU to join because they are already considered tough. Playing AQ teams has been TCU's proplem. Nobody wants to play us.

The only conferences that gave them an offer was The Big East and the ACC. however the Big East move was a all encompassing move (meaning all sports were included). And the ACC was not. Gary Patterson will be recruiting in a bcs conference in 2012. Just based on that, they are here to stay. And next year they may not be this dominant because they lose Andy Dalton, Jeremy Kerley and others, but in 2012 they'll be right back. You can argue about their schedule all you want, but the fact of the matter is going undefeated in the big east, no matter how weak the conference is, would force the system to let the frogs in the NCG. and complaining about it won't change anything.

And it isn't TCU's fault OSU lost James Rodgers (their 2nd best player) halfway through the year. I love how UT fans demand TCU schedule better competition, but won't step up. At least Baylor and Tech will play us regularly. And Oklahoma/LSU/Arkansas are all coming to Fort Worth in the next 5 years. When will UT come play?

We played three years ago. It was, as it usually is, a thumping. Texas has home/homes scheduled with USC, Notre Dame, Maryland, and BYU. TCU doesnt offer the gate, the opportunity, or the exposure that those schools do. We don't need TCU...we already own the state, with regards to recruiting. And that is truly WHY you schedule various programs to do home/homes with: to get a recruiting advantage. Why else do you think Arkansas/LSU come here???

It's a small stadium, we already own the state recruiting wise: there is zero benefit to Texas coming to Ft Worth to play a game. Plus, Texas OOC schedule is set thru 2018 with the likes of Notre Dame, MAryland, BYU, USC, Arkansas, Ole Miss,and Cal. THOSE schools are attractive because they have a large following, large stadiums, and present an opportunity to create a recruiting advantage.

UT stadium holds about 100,000.
68,000/100,000 = .68
Now TCU is much smaller with about 12,000 students/staff.
Max capacity is around 50,000 (Utah game last 2009).
12,000/50,000 = .24

There's always gonna be a bigger stadium and attendance figure for a state school than private. In UT's case, they're by far the biggest school in Texas. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it's just lame when UT or anyone in the Big 12 has a down year, and has to resort to attendance smack. It's got nothing to do with the team on the field.

TCU jumped at the best option for their athletic program. With BYU and Utah leaving the conference we needed to jump ship too. Even though the donkeys and Nevada are coming here thats not enough to justify staying. The bottom line is the Big East was the only conference with a AQ that would invite us in. They did it to improve their credentials. Others like SEC don't want a TCU to join because they are already considered tough. Playing AQ teams has been TCU's proplem. Nobody wants to play us.

You passed and now they're on to another AQ conference where they will be able to compete year in and year out for ole' Mackie's recruits and National Championships. I feel so sorry for this guy. If you had any idea that we've been good for 12 years and that we would destroy Texas this year and probably last year too! AND fyi-we didn't exactly turn down offers from the Big 12, Big 10, SEC or Pac 10. If the Big 12 would have offered, TCU would have accepted. But the Big 12 was scared of playing us every year.

Do you seriously think that TCU - a Tier 1 academic school - didn't weigh all of it's options and speak to EVERY conference before it made it's decision? I'm sure TCU has spoken to the Big 12-2 more than the Big East. But unless they get invited, they can't let themselves in, idiot.
Also, TCU has been good since 1998 - not "the last 3 or 4 years". That span includes 2 wins over OU. And a 15-3 record against AQ teams.
And since you told me I could, I'll also say Baylor beat Texas this year.
