  • 2 words holy fuck

  • Kirk doesn't like this video because there isn't Wah wah LOL

  • Nice tutorial o___o

  • superb jamie...u must play this one for me next time i'm in Fl.

  • your killed that shit dude

  • i would give you credit but your guitar let you down because in the chrome i can see you pressing play on your laptop/computer.

  • Respond to this video...

Me pressing play on the laptop is me switching on the backing track, I am playing live on the video.

  • @jamieamir Which /i found quite obvious just so you know:) nice playing dude 5* 1000x better than me:L

  • @jamieamir I reckon he's complimenting you on how well it sounds man, lighten up.

  • Are you self taught or did you have a teacher?

  • Respond to this video...

Mostly self taught on guitar, although I don't advise it, as I taught myself how to play wrong! I picked up a lot from instructional videos, especially Paul Gilbert's Intense Rock Techniques (the first one). Learning from a good teacher is a much better way to go than trying to teach yourself.

  • @jamieamir: I'm also self taught, I play the guitar for three years now and it really never gets old. But the "problem" is, I really have very less time because of school. I always motivate myself by thinking about another self taught guitarists like Marty Friedman for example. He wrote amazing solos for Megadeth although he never (or maybe very short) had a teacher.

  • donde conseguiste las tabs!! D:

  • @zergiio24 He descubierto a mí mismo, tengo un video tutorial, pero en Inglés solamente sentimos,!

  • damn thats as close as i've seen, good job man :)

  • @strawhat2324 thanks!

  • @jamieamir for reals dude, and i a very picky about metallica solo covers, and seeing how that songs off my favorite album by them i'm even more of a hard ass, sincerly bro good job.

  • You kinda look like Jeffery Dahmer. He was a serial killer. Lol

  • LAME!!! He's playing a right handed guitar. Make a video of you playing it left handed. No offense but you suck. keep practicing.

  • HOOOOLYYY GOATSHIT!!! THAT WAS FUCKIN' AWESOME!!

how long have you been playing guitar?!

  • @xBenjaxGuitar I have been playing for 20 years now, since I was 12. It never gets old!

  • @jamieamir

    wow 20 years, very impressive=)

  • 1 word awesome

  • So you like dream theater? :D

  • @Killemall16fuel

I used to listen to Dream Theater a lot, not much these days though.

  • Nice work dude, but you should re-record that with a different sound! Sounds like you have to much stuff connected to your guitar....

  • Wow! Very good solo and... wonderful guitar! I have an Ibanez 7620 but the Universe remains on my mind... maybe one day I will buy one of them :)

  • nice one! :) but pls turn up the volume for your guitar.

  • the sweet sound of the ibanez

  • Kick ass solo dude. Question, how can you play on a 7 string? Never got to use one, are the notes layed out differently?

  • he can play it but i am sure sure he can't create one like that one

  • last lick is wrong. it starts with a B STRING pedal note, only the second half is has the g string pedal note. its just incorrect transcibed in the official songbook. cause the old metallica songbooks suck ass anyway. (letz play major chords instead of power chords, thats sooooooo metal. wtf?)

  • what 5 jealous faggots gave this thumbs down? fuckin trolls

  • Kick ass.

  • Sounds a shitload better without wah.

  • That was fucking perfect

  • spot on, good sir.

  • TURN THE FUCKING SONG DOWN FOR FUCK'S SAKE !

  • Why would anyone 'dislike' this? Some people are pricks.

    Awesome, dude....really really great.

  • amazing man.just amazing.you rock big time!

  • EXECELENT!

  • Ha ha, nice! How long did that take to get down?!

  • :0 i wanna learn this so bad!

  • very nice..

    sounds great my friend

one of the more challenging solos

  • I only heard the backing track guitar

  • Does Kirk use a 7 string guitar in Dyers Eve?

  • @prakopcyk No

  • man, all these guys do in these guitar cover solo clips, is turn the volume of the song up and turn their guitar volume down so you can barley hear the guitar and when the fuck up you cant even notice it and it sounds note for note

  • i love the fact that when this dude says note for note...he aint bullshittin!!

  • very nice my friend!

  • excellent job my friend, that's one I still haven't learned all the way through yet. that whole justice album has a lot of complicated riffs and shit in it.

  • So you would recommend that Line 6 Pod in the back for metal then? lol

  • I just learned this solo and as fast as it sounds, it is really easy to play :D

  • what are you using if its not wah?

  • kirk would be proud of you.!

  • Nice job dude. And for all of you Bieber haters, download the Bieber Blocker for Firefox. I did, and it blocks anything related to him :D

    Keep rockin \m/

  • is that a 7 string electric guitar?

    (just asking)

  • @sedohrable

It is a 7-string Ibanez Universe

  • @jamieamir >:D

    kickass

  • @sedohrable hmm, it has seven strings, maybe so. lol

  • Nice solo. What a beast. Haha anyways you said there were no accurate tabs for this solo. I have the official "and justice for all" tab book. Could I use that or would that not be accurate as well?

  • @TheStealthBand

The solo book is way off on a lot of songs. I can't say it is 100% wrong, but it certainly isn't 100% right. I transcribed the whole solo myself when I realized how wrong the book was. Saying that, the book is right for the slower parts. I think that book came out in 1990 (that's when I first picked up a guitar and that was the first tab book I ever had!), and they didn't have the technology we have today to slow music down. See if you can learn it from my tutorial video.

  • @jamieamir Oh man that sucks! I have the first five albums from metallica on the official books. Anyways ok I'll check the tutorial video. Thanks for the advice

  • Comment removed

  • @TheStealthBand i used the book for the one i posted and it seems pretty close:)

  • @TheStealthBand no dont listen to him i have it too and it is actually 99% accurate only on the Dyer's Eve solo tho. it took me an hour to get the solo right and it sounds just like it.

  • Ok so most kids when they learn a solo only come close to really playing it perfectly and there like oh yea I'm so good but man u played it perfectly awesome job do hangar 18 by megadeth it shouldn't be to hard for u

  • @jerrykane01

Thanks for the comment! Yeah Hangar 18 is a beast. My brother plays those really well, not something I have tackled. Just learning stuff for our next show right now, we are playing a few DM songs, and some others I have never learned before. Just learned the Through the Never solo, might post that sometime soon if I have time.

  • @jamieamir this solo is harder for me than hangar 18... as long as you can sweep it's not all that hard of a solo.

  • @jamieamir dude learn Unforgiven 3 solo!!!! it's epic!

  • @jerrykane01 cause actualy many guitar players don't understand or don't know that if you want to play fast you gotta start slow :)

  • Great job!! but your hand is tiny!

  • bad

  • omg escape the fate ripped off of metallica!! lol

  • That is one kick ass 7 string Ibanez

  • Get song's level down

  • This is good even without wah !

  • wow.... amazing

  • u play ut better then kirk does it now. Gj

  • Holy shit definitely best cover yet.

  • dude im still relatively a newbie but i can play this solo with my fretting hand but my picking hand is very clumsy. I can alternate pick quite well for single string patterns but i have a real trouble alternating through strings. im either too slow or if i go fast im quite clumsy. i have trouble especially with scale patterns. Have you got any tips you can give me?

  • @000theUnforgiven000

    1) Use Dunlop Jazz II guitar picks

    2) Look on youtube for Paul Gilberts Intense Rock Techniques (the first one)

    3) Practice the first few exercises he shows on there religiously for a few months

    4) Start out very slow, get it perfect when playing slow and then gradually speed up. Thats exactly what I did with this solo (and every other solo I have posted).

  • @jamieamir thank you very much!

  • @000theUnforgiven000 If your still a newbie then in time the fast picking comes :D haha

  • @000theUnforgiven000

Those are very good advises from jamieamir.

I made a giant leap in my alternate picking playing technical difficulties from racer X (Paul Gilbert)

  • GIve me the tabs pliz pliz :)

  • @locobleck

I have a video tutorial which you should be able to figure it out from. There are no accurate tabs out there for this, I have no idea how to make a tab, and I really don't have the time to do it anyway. Sorry! Try seeing my video tutorial.

  • Rape.

  • fuckin' amazing dude.

    keep rocking

  • what fucker dislikes this?

  • Comment removed

  • dude, who could vote negative?? it's perfect!

  • This and fight fire are my favorite solo's without a doubt

  • Thanks for all the nice compliments everyone! The guitar is a 7 string Ibanez Universe. I have had it for over 10 years now! Great guitar! I made a tutorial video for anyone wanting to learn this solo. Just look through my videos. Have fun with it!

  • you did freaking amzing and your guitar sounded almost exactly as it should have!!

  • i came.

  • YOU A MAD GUITAR

  • ibanez jem sir?

  • What kind of guitar is this? ^_^

  • looks like an ibanez with JEM Neck

  • ohh fuck dude you are awsome, keep it metal!!

  • i can play most of the metallica solos ... allthough ive never tried dyers eve before ... but i will most likely use this video as reference ... really nice played man, perfectly executioned

  • @metalrulesforlife I know all metallica solos, xcept death magnetic, they're my next goal. toughest album wasmaster or justice.

  • I have to say the mop album was the thoughest album to learn. GO for death magnetic man! :P stay metal!!

  • @metalrulesforlife yeah kill em all, and lightning were the easiest.

  • there is one spanish guy on youtube (dont know his user name right now). he and you are the best solo cover posters i know ;)

  • its kirkh666

  • @Aremine its xxjoeyjordisonxx

  • BOW DOWN !!!!

Absolutely flawless. The 1st half of this solo has eluded me for a decade now .. I can play the 2nd half pretty well tho.

Props to you my friend ... Killer playing !!!

  • I promise I will make a tutorial, so that it eludes you no more. Try what I did, slow it down on quicktime, wear some headphones. Use my video as a reference. I used the video of KH playing it in the studio as a reference, it helped with some of the positions and fingering.

  • I bow to you with respect, that was freakin' awesome and spot on!!

  • i jizzed my self to how awesome this guy is o.o

  • man.... the first part...the first lick !... do you do up strokes ? down strokes o alternate strokes ?

answer plz ... good job by the way... NOTE FOR NOTE

    PERFECT

  • I think it is down, up, up. down, up, up etc.

I really need to get off my butt and do a tutorial video for this solo. I haven't played it in months though now.

  • Sorry, it is down, down, up

  • lol there is that innocent acoustic guitar in the background feelin loneley...while ur RAPING UR GUITAR WITH AWESOMENESS!!!!

  • great!

  • O.O not normal

  • holy shit

  • perfect !

  • One word: Class!!!!

  • Good shit, what guitar is that?

  • absoluetly amazing man, i wish to be as good as you one day :P

  • finally someone who uploads after mastering a song. very fucking nice. keep it up!

  • Hey guys thanks for all the nice comments. I am using a line 6 pod, its just what I use at home. At my brothers house where we practice, I have a Line 6 half stack with Bogner tubes, its pretty awesome.

I worked so hard on learning this solo note for note, so its really nice to see all the positive comments on here, it makes all the hard work well worth it.

I keep on promising I am going to make a video of this slowed down so you budding shredders can actually learn this solo. One day!

  • thanks man i am a beginner and am saving for a better guitar and hopefully a better amp since its kinda hard with a baby and all, and im trying so hard to play this solo also! but its kinda hard when my guitar really sucks :(

  • invest in a good amp before a guitar because a guitar is useless no matter how good it is if your amp sucks

  • btw, you did really good man keep up the good work, never let anything stop you! i wish to one day play this solo as good as you! :)

  • dude that was totally immenese note for note perfection well done :)

  • i bet it did take hard work..lol ive only been playing 2 years and ive been working on this since like last week and i almost got it :D

  • that was awesome! are you playing through the POD 2.0 in the background?

  • Your a fucking badass, dude!!

    I fucking respect you!

  • What amp do you use?

  • Best cover for this solo out there I think.

  • My god.

  • It's full of win.

  • perfect. you deserve a sub

  • that was a really good cover keep up the skills

  • sweet cover :D

  • That... Was... SICK!!!

  • Amazing! I wonder why Metallica didnt fire Hamster and hire you! You completely suck at being ureself!

  • haha

  • check out the nimes live upload of metallica's dyers eve, kirks solo was not bad, but it definitely wasnt as clean as this

  • id say that was about 99% on the dot. if i didnt look id think kirk was playing that one.. awesome job man \m/

  • kick ass job man

  • fucking awesome man...

  • holy cow balls! that was the neatest solo ever. neat job!

  • Backing track is way too loud.

  • Lower the volume of the backing track. Kirk is covering you so it's hard to hear you.

  • Masterfully played!! Amazing job!!! Definitely 5 stars.

  • best I've seen on youtube. 5 stars for you my friend.

  • Phenomenal playing!

  • ....wow

  • YEAH !! AMAZING !!

  • This is the best solo cover of this song.

  • Wow, dude, great fucking job!

  • holy shit dude that was insane good as helllll perfect on every note dude

  • hey perfect man! what kind of cam are you using?

  • dude! how to do you play thte beginning of the solo, the part of the ben and the hammer on pull off, that part is so difficult for me, the rest 2/3, you're great, are you LIKE KIR"S LITTLE BROTHER JAJA

  • I transcribed it myself, I didn't tab it out though. I will have to make a video of me playing it slow one of these days

  • ya dude i no pretty much every metallica solo..this one is just trick for me though

  • wow dude fucking amazing..could u send me the tabs

  • dudue just google them

  • sweet guitar. i saw a 7 string at the anoka music store in minnesota

  • That is a 7 string Ibanez Universe I got about 8 or 9 years ago. I love that thing! I haven't seen too many around. Ibanez just doesn't seem to make guitars like that anymore.

  • perfect!!!

just wondering, what guitar is that?

  • really cool ibanez.... wich one is that?

  • you need to turn your volume up and the background down, I can hardly tell the difference between your solo and kirks

  • i can hear it...you can't tell the difference because he basically has it down note for note. which is saying something, this is one of metallica's hardest solos

  • i can hear the guitar fine you need your ears tested or just need to quit your jibber jabber fool lol

  • Spot-fucking-on! Great job!

  • insane job man, i can still hardly play the rhythm of this song

  • you fucking suck!

    lol, i'm kidding, that rocked!

  • Its about time somone did this right! :D Other than kirk ; )

  • GREAT JOB MAN, seriously, GREAT

  • now play it with the backing track turned down, so we can actually HEAR you playing.

  • Wow, I thought you could hear it pretty well actually. Turn your speakers up! My guitar has no wah, you should be able to tell them apart fairly easily.

  • I heard it quite well, excellent job!

  • I can hear the backing track more, it has nothing to do with volume.

  • I can hear your guitar pretty good but at certain parts the original does overpower it a bit.

  • Absolutely nailed it!

  • Awesome dude :D
