  • Epic day for tornadoes.

  • @seankolker Yes it was, a total of 9 tornadoes and 7 funnel clouds we documented that day. Would have kept going to Albert Lea and bagged a few more tornadoes, but we were so far behind and low on gas in the middle of nowhere, we we called it a day after Kiester.

  • What was the EF rating on this Tornado?

    Ralph

    WXKLMB 7040 (SKYWARN ID)

  • @rnoble2007 I think it was an EF2, the Minneapolis NWS has a write up on it...

  • @rnoble2007 it was accually an ef4

  • Check out Chris Gullickson's amazing video from near the circulation...a 9 minute video of some sweet action!!

  • @2DSTORMS Excellent video. What's the link to the Gullickson video ?

  • I like 1:39-1:50 the best with very distant loud thunder at 1:40 and power flash at 1:49, just simply a treat that day.

  • Wow... is it really a wedge tornado? I didn't catch that...

  • @1359TB As I said earlier, if you were face to face with a wedge, words don't come out as you would like them to, like saying "you know" a million time without realizing it. I realize next time talking will be at a minimum, only when needed.

  • Lol

  • Woweee..a real mouth-wateringly gorgeous tornado video you got...as sometimes YouTube can be a real ''pacemaker'' for those who ever wanted to see such awesome in-depth LIVE tornadoes....and this one here is a real MUST-SEE~~! Awesome on the lightning flashes as well as the ''inflow-band''... Until YouTube came along..one would have to rely only on the 6 o'clock news and/or TWC to see such live awesome tornado videos.but now..one can view this right on any computer screen..with a mouseclick!

  • @LuvsTstormTapes Thanks for the kind words and comments on the video, it is greatly appreciated!!

  • @2DSTORMS ~~~~>Why YASVVVW, my new friend, on my such in-depth comments on your own awesome mouth-watering video of this incredible tornado and lightning... BTW....I might end up doing my own stormchasing tomorrow MON 8/16...since I have to chauffeur my aged-parents over to the skin doctor in Newport RI... I'll have my camcorder with me....since big Tstorms are a good bet for then....if I get anything..i'll upload my Tstorm videos like the many others I've had.

  • Wow its that huge its like a huricane tornado cross breed.

  • @NielsShoe Just wish I was within a mile or so of this beast...imagine the video then!!

  • my house almost got hit by that thing 1/2 mile wide to 1 mile long about close to a mile long when my friends place got the corner of it and at a mile probably 1 mile by the time it got closer to my place

  • @coltonopsahl24 That would have been terrifying. We had an EF3 wedge come within a mile of our house the day that Parkersburg, Iowa, suffered a direct hit from an EF5...

  • Just wish we would not sitting just above a quarter of a tank of gas entering Kiester.....I could not find a gas station and did not want to chance running out of gas so we had to stop chasing. Could have seen the tornadoes near Albert Lea and Conger.

  • by the way guys this is a WEDGE TORNADO! lol other than that this is pretty kick ass, i understand how adreniline affects the vocab

  • @hoobalogginmedia I appreciate your understanding and thanks for compliments. That day was unreal for us!

  • I lived fifteen minutes from that in Emmons mn. Remarkable

  • Just to let everyone know that we did not realize how many times we said "wedge" so before you comment on that just keep in mind how much the adrenaline was pumping after chasing 200+ miles and seeing multiple wall clouds, funnels and 9 tornadoes!! Kind of like saying "you know" to someone and not realizing it.

  • Gee, do u think it wa a "wedge" tornado?????

  • @derbeh Another reason we were saying wedge multiple times is the fact that we had two video cameras so the "play by play" kind of doubled up at times. It also is kind of like saying "your know" to someone in conversation and not realizing it. This storm was relentless with its funnels, tornadoes and its longevity!

  • Were you calling it in when you kept on saying it was a wedge tornado?

  • @ExclusivelyEmmy Had written down the numbers to all the area NWS offices off the internet, but the numbers did not go thru and alot of times our cells said "phone call failed try again later". There were numerous law enforcement officers and firefighters out on this one, almost as numerous as the chasers. Thanks for your post.
