@HollowAxel Because furious, serious, tragic and angsty was the situation for which Border of Life was meant for, let's not forget that at the point when this theme debuts, Yuyuko wasn't in a good spot in her "life".

She has since gotten over it and moved on so this arrangement does fit her current mood as well.

@TerrafawkesTenko To be honest, she still WAS an innocent ghost in Perfect Cherry Blossom. For one, she had no idea that the Saigyou Ayakashi was evil...in fact, it's NOT. Also, she wanted to revive the thing underneath because she was curious and didn't know what it was. She didn't have some sort of evil motive, she just didn't know what was sealed up in the tree and was too naive to think that maybe it'd be better to leave it be.

Well when I listen to the songs, I consider the character bios and personalities.. As a living human, she had powers that kept other people from coming near her, and her only friend was technically Yukari... She later killed herself to seal the power of the cherry blossom tree, and that's how you know her ghost now.. Aside from that, her personality is quite easygoing compared to most Touhou characters.

don't mistake wisdom for maturity. Wisdom is knowing how things are going to resolve, and can often only be gained by experiencing these things first. yuyuko has been around for a great deal of time and is very wise, yet, since she d ied when she was young, she is also very immature. yukari on the other hand, is more like a cougar.. she's old but likes to pretend she's young =p

Silent Sinner in Blue is a manga written by ZUN about Yukari's second invasion of the moon. Except no one dies (or puts in a great deal of effort into their combat, except Yorihime and maybe Sakuya), and Yukari wins because she's, well, Yukari.

SWR was the first version of Border of Life I heard, so even the original seems really dark and depressing to me. XD I wish there were more upbeat remixes of this song.
