Hi Jan, my father was an australian concert pianist Raymond O'Connell. He was like yourself a child prodigy and played with many famous conductors, Barbirolli, Sargent, Wood etc.
You are the first pianist i have heard and i include richter, rubinstein and many of the old masters who have my fathers touch, phrasing and musician ship. If you go through the other videos of this piece by other acclaimed pianist they play too fast and lack your wonderful touch and emotion. Thank you so much for this.
you are realy good playing, the sound is magic y wish to play ike you its so far for me but you are a inspiration for me and for every one that likes music :)
This is gorgeous! Jan, this is one of the best versions of this I've ever heard. Dreamy, nostalgic, romantic, delicate, and yet full of deep passion, you give a poignant interpretation with a great beauty I've never heard before in this etude...
I did attend your concert just recently in Hamilton, 200 Chopin concert and I absolutely loved it. You're magnificent and we as a Canadian and Polish are so proud of you. Congratulations and all the best to you.
If you believe in a heaven, the absolute sense of awe and wonderment of it is what this sounded like and is probably supposed to sound like. Jan conveyed that for me. His playing seemed impossibly not of our time.
just wondering if you only play classical music, and nice playing you seem to like Franz Liszte and Chopin do you like Rachmaninoff. Once again very Beautiful playing.
Jan, you're an absolutely amazing pianist. It really is quite impossible to stop listening to these recordings of yours as well as the podcasts.
You're coming to Toronto tonight and I'm SO excited!! I've been looking forward to this day forever. Can't wait to hear you live (and have a chance to meet you pleasepleaseplease??).
nice piece, Jan. was it your idea to cross and switch hands to keep the melody or was it suggested by the composer? anyway it goes so smoothly under your fingers. i saw this kind of technique in the gigue B flat by J.S. Bach.
you have angel hands!

Beautifully played rendition of one of Liszt's most heartbreakingly beautiful piano pieces. Jan is an exceptionally talented musician.

He has been praised for his "poetic and imaginateively executed playing." Having just attended a sold-out performance, I wholeheartedly agree!

It sounds like a whole orchestra is playing with you; to me, that is incredible artistry.
Good luck with all that you do. :)
