The part you said that were loose are suppose to come off since they are part of his arsenal, the red oblique parts on his hips are his Super Electro Magnetic Yo-yo and the detachable tracks form his Battle Chainsors. The Battle Marine was designed that way in the anime so there's no need to clip his legs together in vehicle mode. Voltes 5 was actually a remake of Combattler V so everything from the pilots to the robot looks the same.
@shaidaaneo In the anime he had an attack wherein he will first encase his enemy with the Super Electro Magnetic Hurricane then his feet would flip up, the tracks on his back would adjust to his sides and his fists flip back. Making him look like a giant tank/trailer. Then rams his enemy as the finishing move. This attack is called the Grandasher. He doesn't transform into anything in the combined robot mode but he does look like a tank/trailer in this attack though.
I had a Combattler V back in the 80's (had no idea what it was back then) I've been looking for a good version of the figure for a bit of nostalgia on my shelves.
While this figure looks nice, it just isn't doing the job for me.
So on that note, thanks for the review, it just saved me about $100!
Do you have GX-50? I saw a review of one at CollectionDX, but I don't now if you have it (the reviewer's not JoshB :(). If you have it, would you make a video of one?
One of the figures costs 70 $, I think it's the one you have. The other one costs 145 or 175 $ I dont know Why the other one is so expensive? Any way nice review man 5/5
Hi there CollectionDX, How are you? I just looooove this figure in fact I looooooove Super Robots action figures like Combattler V, Voltes V, Grendaizer, Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Mazinkaiser, Voltron ect..... At the end of your review you offer us to find these kind of figures on web site called betatoys.com. I entered this web site and the figures that costs 70 to 90 $ are all out of stock. When I make a serch for Combattler V figure, there were 2 kind of Combattler V figures.
There is great news about combattler V being remade(GX-50 Dec 2009) with better possiblitly in the legs and clear glass cockpit and the nabara base as well as more weapons. Hlj has preorders already up
i was thinking if i would be buying this, because of your review (which was absolutely great, complete, very nice comment and opinion. i got the best review I need, thank you josh.
my best source of collectionDX info :) 5/5 rating.
hi there,,i've been watching your reviews for months now and i like what i'm seeing.. now could i request you to have a review of THS Optimus Prime if you have one.. thanks
O: Not bad. I've never watched the show, but I like the 5-in-1 transformation, even if it is rather simple. Don't think this SoC'll be coming into my collection though, it's too simple for my liking after having experienced the GX-35 GunBuster. :]
lovely ficturem thanks for share

Is that opening music someone covering Negative Approach's "Nothing"? Doesn't sound like the original track. Totally boss choice, either way.
