just a tip for you but something ive found to be easier on the quick masking part if im not mistaken you used quick mask to make a selection so that it would only select a certain area when you blurred but kept detail in other areas correct? ive found it easier to duplicate the original image on to another layer. Then erase the areas you want to keep detail on so that the bottom original layer shows through but the detail is unaffected but the layer above is still blurred

@PhaseFavor Yeh, gaussian blur, quickmask, color control (saturate/desaturate change hue) -that's control+u, orestesdd- curve editor, radial gradient (reverse ticked) from black to transparent.. (press d [by itself] to set photoshop back to default colors [black and white] for this) But hey! using gaussian blur to quickly clear up skin defects, and the dodge tool on the inner cornea for a more natural look, what a great idea! That's very clever, using the paintbrush to select complex combinations of shape and color that the magic wand or magnetic lasso wouldn't grasp very well. I'll have to try that...
