It takes 14 month to 2 years. The conservative party has NOT been conservative on money since 1914.

Americans have to accept that they are entering the global labor poll. That means that wages for middle and lower level employees will have to accept less for the work they do. I agree with your points but it really does come from the new world of International elites who own everything and have little allegiance to any one nation. The poorest abroad are seeing wages increase slowly but Americans are seeing the reverse. They wealthy are on top of the world as always.

@indyman77 It was just one reality. Another is that the US has 2,000,000 new people a year supposedly. That helps to keep labor increasing. I work overseas in Asia at a university. More and more students here go to the US to work for their three-month summer vacation. There are loads of companies which have started up to supply cheap short-term labor in the form of university students to the US. They work at places, like Disney, six flags, mcdonalds, hotels and casinos. This keeps wages down too

Students pay over a $1000 to go and work with the hope that they will make some money and still be able to travel. Many also take other jobs while they are there to supplement their income. These workers go unseen by most Americans. It helps to keep wages and prices low in the US meanwhile making big bucks for the corporations.
People do need to ask specific questions, make sure that our elected officials aren't just yanking us around. People are making such a big deal about the "Exhausted Woman", but she didn't really ask any questions of substance. "Is this my new reality?" is a question you ask a wizard or something, not a politician.

Make the health insurance industry illegal and then I can breath again. It is time for America to realize that health care is a risk and medical services must adjust their rates to what the common citizen can pay. Health Insurance companies have to be a rip-off in order to stay in business. They have no saving capacity like other insurance industries. Think about it! Forget the unemployment benefits extention, what about the jobs promised? If we keep extending benefits, where are we going to stop? Goverment doesn't produce anything, it just prints money. We need to stimulate the economy by drilling for oil, cut taxes, stop spending. That's the real solution.

I have a friend who has been unemployed for a year because he got an extension. He said that a company was offering him less than he would make on unemployment.
I am a contractor. I finished my contract last December 23rd during the peek of the recession and I had to live off my bank account. I went and got a job making 20K less a year immediately. Why should these people get an extension when I can't draw unemployment? They are no better than the rest of us. Get out there and get a job.

Americans have to accept that they are entering the global labor poll. That means that wages for middle and lower level employees will have to accept less for the work they do. I agree with your points but it really does come from the new world of International elites who own everything and have little allegiance to any one nation. The poorest abroad are seeing wages increase slowly but Americans are seeing the reverse. They wealthy are on top of the world as always.

@indyman77 It was just one reality. Another is that the US has 2,000,000 new people a year supposedly. That helps to keep labor increasing. I work overseas in Asia at a university. More and more students here go to the US to work for their three-month summer vacation. There are loads of companies which have started up to supply cheap short-term labor in the form of university students to the US. They work at places, like Disney, six flags, mcdonalds, hotels and casinos. This keeps wages down too

Students pay over a $1000 to go and work with the hope that they will make some money and still be able to travel. Many also take other jobs while they are there to supplement their income. These workers go unseen by most Americans. It helps to keep wages and prices low in the US meanwhile making big bucks for the corporations.

Make the health insurance industry illegal and then I can breath again. It is time for America to realize that health care is a risk and medical services must adjust their rates to what the common citizen can pay. Health Insurance companies have to be a rip-off in order to stay in business. They have no saving capacity like other insurance industries. Think about it! It's just a leach attached to our medical bills. Hospitals will HAVE TO lower their rates when there is no insurance!

You think with the logic of a 5 year old. First of all, you don't know how much debt this lady and her family have accumulated. When you make that much money, you tend to buy nicer things. Nicer house, nicer cars, sending kids to private school etc. Not to mention you have to clothe and feed these children and heaven help her if a medical emergency comes up. I have a friend who has been unemployed for a year because he got an extension. He said that a company was offering him less than he would make on unemployment.
I am a contractor. I finished my contract last December 23rd during the peek of the recession and I had to live off my bank account. I went and got a job making 20K less a year immediately. Why should these people get an extension when I can't draw unemployment? They are no better than the rest of us. Get out there and get a job.
