How it looked to me: - the first cheer was for the team, the second was acknowledging a nod of approval from the conductor, I dont think he was cheering himself, although thats what many brass bands do at a contest, they cheer with the audience and at themselves, nothing pretentious about it, just under 5 minutes of top tight playing, even with a couple of blips
Glyn Williams looks like a fantastic conductor - we all know he's an amazinig Euph player, but fair play looks awesome as a conductor - got the band sounding great too.
As an aside, who's the fanny on Rep who's wearing gloves - it wasn't even cold??!!
This is quality playing all round, tight just how I like it and the principal is well supported. I love the slight touch of rubato at 0.27 & 3.11, 3.15. Is that encouragement or a telling off at 0.43? A cracking performance, thanks for posting banana61.
A great performance by the band. I just love the enthusiasm of the conductor. (And I like the march too. Three cheers for W. Rimmer!)

Brilliant! Having heard this superb band at The Durham Miners Gala play this, I bought the music for our local band.

Nice performance - shame 4th man cheers himself which is a tad pretentious as it was not perfect. Great top man though
