This was a phenomenal production in every possible theatrical incarnation but the original was the very best. If only it had been captured in hi-quality video with full fidelity sound, it would be priceless!
@VRNProductions My best guess is that the entire show WAS recorded, but what's on YouTube currently is from press reels released to news outlets for broadcasts on the show.
@Merkin4pres64 No, if it were news reels the footage would have surfaced in better quality before, and would likely have been pro-shot. This was filmed from someone in the audience with (I believe) an 8mm camera (In fact, the whole of the footage FiM was comprised from can be found online if you search around deep enough). The story as I understand it goes that some woman that was a Follies freak took a camera in and filmed precisely the moments she thought were the best, then edited it to this.
And yet, so much far-perspective footage exists. I'm happy for any and all snippets! :)

Why is there so little footage of each song? This looks like it was videotaped from someone in the audience- why wasn't the whole show recorded?
