  • very interesting...

  • when you were telling us that we musnt use drugs.. what about drugs for spiritual reasons like LSD?

  • thiink outside the box nigga i love meditation be your own person and do whats better for your life PCE

  • My life is full of stress and depression, even my age "not going to say". How could I get away from all this?"

  • @misterofilms stop trying to get away from it... see it for what it is, and like a spider in a box, you will realize it has no power over you :)

  • @yuttadhammo I must say just reading that, made me realize it. I see what your saying i've been meditating for about a month, trying to see how to solve this problem of stress and depression, but i see how to solve it.

  • you can put spider on a peace of paper or in some little box and put him out side..somwear alse..you dont need to kill spider...

  • Does this mean I can't kill spiders in my house? ugh.

  • I catch bugs and release them outside.

  • It all depends on what your mediation is for. Do you only want to relax, or are wanting to awaken your spiritual growth and burn karma, transcend to Samadhi and God.

  • Thank you

  • marijuana should be used as a tool for meditation in my opinion

  • well that could be done but that contradicts the buddhist belief, so if your a non buddhist then of course you can do that, but the concept of buddhist meditation is to do it this way, without marijuana.

  • i dont like his idea so much about saying to yourself in your head walking sitting.this in itself i would think would distact from acual conciousnes of self

  • yea but you say that to yourself in order to help reach that consciousness.. so it doesnt distract..

  • Thank you...

  • What if you're doing couple of things at the same time? You have to create clear thoughs to all of them? Sitting, hearing, seeing, rising, falling, turning, walking, hearing...

  • no, as long as your mind is in the present moment, any one will do.

  • quick question can u have sex with a partner if ur a monk?

  • he says no sexual activity with other ppls partners etc, so i think at least some traditions would allow you to be with your own partner

  • not in my tradition. But since these videos are for ordinary people, that prohibition does not apply.

  • @killya552 YOU ARE DEPART ALL OF THAT, MY DEAR

YOU SHOULD READ AND LISTENING WITH ALL MASTER MONKS, OK

    YOUR MIND IS SUFFERING DEAR.

  • Hello,

Nice video! I like your attitude and the way you explain things.

One question: you say it is a good idea to be moderate in everything. Does that include meditation itself (as an activity to be practised moderately)?

I mean... isn't suffering part of everyday life that makes life the interesting game it is? Is it your personal goal to ban all suffering from your life?

Other question:what do you think about sport?

Thanks a lot for the nice videos!

    Kind regards from Holland,

    Bart

  • when i do Meditate for a hour it really hurts my neck and the only way i can do it is leaning up something then i fall a sleep ???? now what ,, i had a meat fly flying round me 2 n i killed it . what do i do ?? and is it ok to drink abit ?? say saturday nights ??? can some 1 help me ??? ash

  • I meant killing for meat when it is perfectly practical to be vegetarian.

  • Is it acceptable to kill for food?

    Keep up the good work!

  • can you accept it? there is never a wrong answer if it's derived from clarity. If your body says it's hungry, listen to it.

  • In my view, i do not see it as acceptable. One can take away the suffering of many animals by simply not eating meat. So i think not eating meat seems a logical Buddhist thing to do.

  • Buddhists focus on how an action affects oneself, as it is impossible to free another being from suffering. Can you truly stop another beings from dying? If it were so easy as to just stop eating meat, there would be no need to meditate at all. Since eating meat does nothing to poison one's mind, it is as innocent as eating vegetables that have been sprayed with pesticides, for instance. Of course, if everyone meditated, no one would kill, and there would be no meat to eat anyway :)

  • This sounds really American and "stoner" but you sir, just blew my mind.

  • its really helping...

i want to contact u by ur email if u like.

    thank you so much

  • i've tried meditating 2-3 times now, i find it calmin but im a guy who works in the special forces and are into martial arts therefore working out alot.

so that means i need alot of food and sleep and some time im my life im ganna kill a human being. i find nothing wrong with killing a human being other than i would avoid it if i knew he was a good person.

i belive in evolution and i see humans just as another animal with brains and conciusness...

    any comments?

  • concealed heckler. you're a herb.

  • Well strictly speaking, to properly follow Buddhist precepts, you would have to renounce your military career as it puts you in a position of taking human life.

  • nothing wrong with killing a human being? I do hope the world does not come to your way of thinking.

  • The part of not killing bugs is difficult sometimes. Bugs can get trapped inside the house until they die. For the maker of this video: do you free them?? And does this also mean that all buddhists are vegetarians??

  • a question: how many of you would consider Marijuana a drug?

personaly I take it as a plant that helps one see cleary

  • I agree to see it as a plant. It can give beautiful experiences. But it must be treated with respect, i feel. Doing it too much takes the spiritual effect away.

  • Just think, what if every person on the planet did this meditation every single day for the rest of their lives?

  • amazing videos, thank u

  • I would like to thank you for the video's.

They are a real eye-opener to me.

  • yes monks cannot refuse alms, even if they contain meat, the mahayana school especially

  • Excuse me does that mean that you cant eat meat.

  • I have tried to study Buddhism and become a Buddhist for 3 months and have got nowhere. After I found your videos I understand so much, and by following your guidance I have a much clearer mind =) Thank you very much.

  • Thank you for the great teaching.

  • SCODgreenhood, sent me the video and I am very happy they did. this is a wonderful opening for westerners who are interested but are not completely sure about what it is all about. :¬D Thank you very much for uploading these great instructions.

  • Im a african american male and i been practicing meditation for about a year now, its help me out alot in my everyday life. I also us breathig techinques to slow my thinking process down, when im playing basketball and it really works. I hope to keep growing mentally!! Thank you!!!

  • Mediation help me a lot. So I just wanted to say thank you.

  • Thank you

  • hey um i want to start meditating but i do smoke weed and i dont find anything wrong with it. but i believe in balance so i dont do it a lot but im wondering if that will really effect my meditation.i know i shouldnt meditate when im high though so i dont.but if i start meditating do i have to stop smoking so the meditation can help me?

  • Even though you are smoking a small amount it is still in your physical being and changing the way that you think for a month afterwards. Weed is one of those drugs which does change your mental process, so I am afraid that if you are smoking you will not get the best out of your meditation. :¬D

  • Can you please tell me more about the meaning of mental process, or giving to me a clear exempleof changing?Do you belive that drugs can oriantate people to some spiritual experiencesbut they have to watch out? THNX

  • Ok,the meaning of mental process is thinking, making desisions and hand eye co-ordination etc.Drugs do need to be dealt with deep caution. There are some cultures that do beleive that certain drugs help to expand the mind and contact different planes of experience, however,we have lost many of the ancient ways and that is dangerous.

  • so I supose the short anser is, some drugs, theoreticaly,do help some to become spiritualy connected, but trying it without an elder is asking for trouble, as you dont know who or what you are contacting.

  • meditation has helped me alot

  • Very good job :) *****

  • Indeed and a best of both world kinda prospect for people in other countries, especially western.

  • Yes, i noticed that also. -Drogo

  • It's a major overhaul of society. That first rule of thou shall not kill all living things, it'll be a challenge in food production since pesticides will be a no no... but no doubt good for all in the long run. So how can we feed as many people without in this case, pesticides? I guess we can go through the Meditation realm one to one personal basis...

    Good useful video!

  • Sorry to but in here, but one really great way to stop the pests without pestisieds is companion planting, which they used to practice in the medival times, where they where feeding almost as many people as now, they incorporated this with rotation crops which stoped the ground pests from building up. And all creatures need to eat. :¬D
