@mce123 No, it's about her loving her boyfriend so much that it hurts. Her guy friends make fun of her 'cause she's never been in love before. The waltz (which is from Strauss's Empire Waltz) beckons her to "walk the body" to her boyfriends bedroom. (The vid first shows her in her own room, dressed in white, then she's in her boyfriend's room. She "jumps!" and then is dressed in black as a queen of the night.) Love your take on the pregnacy and that would cause your Tshirt to change too!
This song, on a quality level, is pure gick (shit). however I find myself listening to it every now and again. Could it be nostalgia? What year was it released?
@supafuckinmingster Um, it's Bootsie Collins produced. If you don't know who that is, you're not fit to pass judgment. Malcolm McClaren is no stranger to talent, either. He discovered the Sex Pistols. If you do some research on this album, you'll see that there's much more to it. The album is a modern take on the Blue Danube Waltz and it highlights elements from the underground scene in the late 1980s, a period that is still influencing the world today.
@PalmerWhit Let me get this straight....because I don't know who bootsie whatshisname is, bearing in mind he/she only produced it, didn't write or sing on ti, thereforeI cannot express what I think of this song. A bit puritannical don't you think? Yes he discovered the Sex Pistols, he told us that ad nauseum until he died, but he wasn't the Sex Pistols. Big difference. I didn't comment on the album so not necessary to mention it. Am not going to research it. I have a life.
@PalmerWhit .........oh and i'm aware of the influence ot the 1980's, not from copycat artists of today sampling the entire decade because they're bereft of ideas, but because I grew up in the 1980s. Thanks for the cultural lesson.
I remember this song, and even the cover art on the 45, where she was sort of holding her hand in the 'namaste position' while looking left, toward the camera...
I first head this song from the Baby Phat fashoin show, then a couple days ago I heard it playing in Old Navy. I've had this song stuck in my head and I never knew who the song was by. I'm so glad I found it though.
Thank God for people like Malcom Mclaren. Without pioneers like him, Kate Bush and others, "art" would come to be called "just more of the same old shit."
LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE this song I heard when kimora's LIVE from Times Square last year and I love it . I have been trying to figure it out for the longest time and I FOUND it now I need the ringtone LOL
I feel in love with this song when I herd it on kimora lee simons fashion show. I have to download it to my ipod. Love this song!!!! It makes me want to get up and dance and jump all at the same time.
@Ce97Ce She contemplates and then takes her love to the next level during this video. It's full of symbolism. The boys tease her because, for the first time, she's in love, Heart heart is jumping out of her shirt.
@Ce97Ce Forgot to mention: The waltz fragment is taken from Strauss's "Empire Waltz." The waltz tune seems to be beckoning her to sleep with her boyfriend. I, too, am addicted to this. The video is beautiful and the song is superb and complex. I love the Empire Waltz fragments and how the string part is used. Genius, beautiful. I don't know how Malcolm McLauren ever thought of writing this; it's fantastic.
@CapriciousCapricrn I hear ya. I consider myself a composer and writer myself, and this is just stunningly complex and elaborate, very deep production, and still it sounds like it has always been there, exactly in this form, in all its seeming simplicity. The 12 inch mix is good too by the way.
i had waltz darling myself and played it regularly in my taxi and back then a regular customer of mine was Liam HOWLETT before the Prodigy were famous. he always commented how much he loved hearing it. i wouldnt be surpised if over time there is some of Malcolm in his music
Ah, Lisa Marie's first dance with fame before she hooked up with Tim Burton, McLaren always found 'em first didn't he now. She's well hot. Thanks Malcolm you clever bastard.
Not often a celeb's death evokes feeling's from me either way. But I am truly, TRULY sorry to hear of the passing of Malcolm Mclaren's death. He was a true genius and understood the relation of music and visual. R.I.P. :-(
FYI. The girls name is Lisa B. (short for Barbuscia). She,s 1/4 Irish, 1/4 Italian and 1/2 Puerto Rican .Originally from Brooklyn, she is married withy 2 kids to , property tycoon Anton Bilton and lives in a stately home near Newport Pagnell. And, still utterly beautiful.

I used to think were the boys making fun of her growing pains or was she actually in love and thats why her heart was about to beat out! lol
Let's keep this in perspective: the girl is smoking hot, but...in the early nineties...probably squeezed out a few puppies since then and now lives a quiet life in the suburbs of London. Just like she's imagined in1990. So enjoy this historic document of her youth and remember that time waits for no one, except for youtube.
This song/album is absolutely brilliant.
