Typically when people have gravel in their tank, you would use a gravel vacuum to clean it. How do people go about cleaning a heavily planted aquarium? I notice most of the heavily planted aquariums have very small fish in them. So is the waste from the fish not a problem to the plants & or water?

Mosses and ricia were originally tied to rocks.

Let me guess. Some of the ottos died. I bought two. I didn't know they were stolen from the wild and almost all of them die within weeks of captivity. Mine died.

@fish4ever24 Many people add soil for a planted aquarium. I have gravel in mine and let the fish make soil. I also add some chemicals though. My planted tank has been doing well for quite a while. Some of the plants have been in there for years. I have a video of it up. It's a 45 gal planted. Its not planted like this one though. It was my success with planted tanks that led me to do marine.

Your otocinclus should look Fat!!!!!!! Feed him some supplementary food - your tank is kept so well that there is not enough algae for an oto to eat!!
