  • I love this song, but the dude talking at the beginning sounds creepy.

  • I wish we could just get back to this moment in time!

  • @MrIamhard Me Too!!

  • @musicminor25 me three

I wish we could to, these kids today don't know what real music sound like.

PEACE UP MY BRO. with a smile

  • Oh man..what we have forgotten what we used to be....soulful energy..magical melodies that deserve to be retold..!!!

  • Good sounding stuff. I heard this on Soul town, Classic Soul/Motown. I am hearing music that I have not heard many, many moons.

  • Oh yeah, I remember this basement song. Got down to it, I was around 10 or 11.

  • yes the white gloves are classic!

  • The lyrics alone set this song apart. Great memories, thanks for sharing and please keep them coming.

  • In 68, they use to practice in our gameroom of Drew Hall at Howard U. We'd knew they'd be great. When they were ready, I remember the show they put on at Cramton Auditorium (lights out, then they appeared with the white gloves), and the rest was history.

  • Yeah I remember theUptown Theater..........Down on Broad and Daulphin....

  • I also remember them @ the Uptown I have the video with the speaker and the white gloves in the dark

  • Dr Cornel you're a awesome and thanks for putting this out there on Facebook. So So true but sometimes these jokers don't know how to accept that type of rejection. Love you and keep it coming....

  • @blac2thafuture You're Welcome! The Uptown was the spot!!

Later years it became The Nu-Tec!!

I've performed there a couple of times!

  • DAVID WHITE U TRULY AMAZED ME ON THE FAKENESS U HAD BEHIND U DANG COULD OF BEEN A MAN ABOUT UR SHIT

  • tell you what this was when was not afaried to say we got hurt to i remember sitting in the cellar broken hearted and the fellows were sitting there with you through the pain and heartache and passing the dutchie remember all you older gents out there what ever happened to those days why did we let them go

  • This group was great I saw them in San Francisco in 1968 we use to sing the songs am a retired singing they are great

  • there is no justic for these groups do perform but young people did not follow in their foot step. so the art of true performers is being lost. junk yard noise makers and fake and enhanced sound production is okay if that is your thing. but great performers start within the heart for the love of an art not a payday.

  • The best.

  • I wish this kind of music would come back. Love that sound

  • @mrslideinsideu2 Me Too!!!

  • Nevermore, sayest the Raven.

  • @mrslideinsideu2 , add me to the list, I so agree with you ^_^

  • *****

  • The drummer on this tune is Jerome "Bigfoot" Bailey. See more of Jerome Bailey on SoulDrummers . com

  • Always the The Unific's. Love this song, my favorite line is at the end when he hears the verdict. And sings..."I got JUSTICE!!!!!"

  • For those who remembered the old black concert circuit(Apollo in NYC,Uptown in Philly,Carta Barron in DC,Regal in Chicago) the Unifics and the old Manhattans blew away the competition with their choreography.NO ONE wanted to follow them afterwards.

  • ...what makes them more ridicilious is tottaly insincere manner of their singing in every song

    5/5

  • Hey Greg, get in touch with Vernon on facebook!

  • I saw them at the Apollo Theater in the spring of 1969 with David Ruffin as the

  • This takes me back to my childhood days and listening to the radio

  • damn i wasnt born yet but my dad is gregory cook the one to the far left he song for me all the time

  • I saw the Unifics in Boston back in 1969. These guys were the baddest group I ever saw in my life...and I've seen them all..(Tempts, Delphonics, Ojays, Moments, Intruders, Manhattans, Spinners, Four Tops, Miracles etc.) Your dad can sing his ass off. I'll never forget their white gloves and impeccable choreography.
