lita is still the queen of WWE.LITA WOW. May be ,She was the 1st woman who fought the title for light heavyweight championship.love lita....live long.
two things you won't notice about this match unless you REALLY pay attention. Lita counters Dean interrupting her tornado DDT with a cross neck breaker over the top rope (a move I've seen Kenta perform), she also counters his powerbomb into an armdrag and caps it off with a double-drop kick. I have never seen a diva in WWE pull off those moves before and you almost miss it because of the crap camera angles. She was amazing. If anyone asks you who was technically better, Trish or Lita, well...
This match isnt fair cauyse it's male/female, but because it's Dean freaking Malenko! The man of a 1,000 holds!
Even still, this is better than EVERY Divas match of today's era. Lita did that thing at the end (spolier free!) too quickly, though. That was unrealistic.
@azapro911 I think they should have had women compete for the cruiserweights or Lightweights, but only really good women like Jacqueline, Jazz, & Lita that would've helped the women improve their in-ring skills and brought more interest to that division b/c fans loved to see them compete
@demolitapower The truth is that back in mid to late 2000, that's exactly what happened - though the women weren't allowed to show their skills to the fullest because WWF kept booking them in semi-squash matches against Dean Malenko. They'd make a good start and get some near falls, but Dean would be made to look dominant in the end.
@azapro911 its an interesting problem that seems to be true across wrestling promotions. Women are still treated like sideshow attractions so they don't book them seriously or give them a lot of time in major promotions. That's why they can put the belt on people who aren't really wrestlers like Kelly Kelly or the Kat. The only time people were seriously interested in women's wrestling as a division in WWE was from 2000-2004 and *maybe'* '06 but Trish generally had no competition those yrs
@demolitapower 2008 was also a great year for the women's division on both RAW & SmackDown. Both shows had championships & diverse divisions. Then TNA's KO division was at it's peak from 07-08. Then 09-mid 10 was a great time for the SD divas and the Women's Title w/ LayCool, Nattie, Beth, & Mickie in the division. Then in late 10 we had a 3 month feud w/ Nattie vs. LayCool that ended in the tables match at TLC w/ Beth. The fans LOVED all of that but WWE & TNA took it away from us. WHY?!

This is so much better than their other match. Even though she taps out before the move is even applied.
