I'm an American; I absolutely love my country and support the troops, but bring them home, the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq are tearing families and economies apart around the world. The people of the Middle East don't want us there, so let's leave and get the hell out of dodge

And as an American who loves the land, the people, the diversity that is America, I ask you to also look to see how those who sent your brothers and sisters into harms way so recklessly can be made to account for their actions, and where those actions are deemed criminal, to bring to them to trial and imprison those so that this can never be allowed to happen again.

Died for whose freedoms? Explain exactly HOW the War in Iraq protects anyones freedoms? What about the 1.5 million Iraqis? I hate that young men are taken, mostly from poor communities, trained to be killers, then put into harms way by Government Officials whose own children AVOID military service.

YOUR inability to investigate and comprehend the truth and reality of WAR is YOUR problem, one you then avoid by blindly supporting the murder of innocents, be they US, Iraqi, AFghan or Pakistani.

1,5 million Iraqis died by violence since 2003. 4 million families displaced. A nation traumatised. WHY? we're fighting so that hopefully one day no one of that nation will be forced to fight in the military, yeah its unfortunate that people under 15 are dying but hitler did the same thing with his youth but it was necessary to kill them so that innocent lives in the future could be saved. same thing in japan when we dropped the atomic bombs many were killed with bombs but they ended up saving more lives than they killed in the end...

Measuring lives again, is a debating tactic, and does not stand... no war ever ever saved lives... ever.... just as police do not prevent crime, they are a deterrent. And enforcer if a suspect is identified etc etc.

SK : mate, Crime is a function of both Poverty and Power. Poverty, in and of itself, is proof positive the system is a failure.

70% of crime is down to the prohibition against drugs which can be grown easily and are not subject to patents.... thus unavailable to business to profit from...

I have been mugged three times in the past 15 years... the police were unable to do anything to prevent those muggings. And unable, if not unwilling to devote any energy to tracing those who mugged me..

oh and about politicians whose kids avoid service, many politicians were part of the armed forces and there is a reason we are called the land of the free cuz we can make our own decisions, if you dont want to join the military fine deal with it. i come from a military family and i believe i owe something back to this country and to those who have and are fighting to preserve our rights but thats my opinion other people might be fitted serving our country some other way...

oh yeah and last time i checked we were fighting to make Iraq and Afghanistan democratic nations and to GIVE PEOPLE RIGHTS! and eliminate their totalitarian leaders who slaughtered his own people ruthlessly and without just cause so were giving the people of those nations the right to life! and if we had done nothing not only would their citizens have kept dying so would ours! they would keep attacking us and we would just let them get away with killing our own civilians, if we can establish...

idk maybe because the ratio of killing civilians-millitants is growing less an less through technology. no one cared when we bombed the hell out of germany how many civilians we were killing. and we could either allow the death toll to mount up here at home or try to end the carnage alltogether by going over there.

my core difference here is that the avenging angel behaviour pattern, if continued, will eventually destroy all opposition - that is peace itself, because it is war, and only when there is nothing will there be peace. The cycle must stop. Too many folks are getting serioulsy hammered, for no reason other than being born in a village where POWERs start WARS against civilian terrorits who are all but invisible...? It's nuts, and does not stand up to real indepth scrutiny, trust me... take a look.

ok so...heres what goes on. america is the number 1 world power, anyone attacks us we recover, set up defenses to prevent a future attack, and then we bring the hammer down on whoever attacked us and make them pay for their crimes against hummanity...but some people dont think that way and say its ok for anyone else to kill civilians EXCEPT the United States...cuz that makes a whole lotta sense
