I guess I'm going to have to play this over and over really slow to get that strum pattern, because I can't even right it down as fast as you're saying it.
@mercyless00 Kristofferson usually plays this in A, so the chords transpose to A, D, and E(7) instead of G, C, D(7). Works the same either way, just a different key.
Help. I'm a lefty and stuck with a righty guitar -several in fact. My left hand is really fast and my strumming horrible! How can I teach my brain to play nice? Any strumming advise?
@ThreeChordGuitar I'm a lefty playing right handed too! The first time I ever picked up a guitar I held it L handed and got yelled at! Southpaw prejudice, lol. Strumming is easy, but now I have the Strat I've always wanted and discovered that my picking is rediculous. I try playing scales and little leads over and over and over, but don't seem to improve a whole lot. Any picking advice? Thanks
@SavedfromSlavery take off your stings and take the nut off the guitar flip it around and string the guitar for a lefty my friend has done this to several right handed guitars and they all sound and play great
Did you know that Roger Miller also covered this tune? Jerry Lee Lewis did a version as well. Nice job with the instruction on this. When I do Kris's version I usually do it in "d"
I'm french and just starting to play guitar (this week) and I just found your lessons. You're really excellent. I will keep learning with your videos. Thank you very much for your help.
i got the cords down but what about the picking pattern your doing? could you break it down and show how your strumming the strings? i just got a guitar and ive learned a couple songs but this one is my favorite and im really interested in learning it!
hey i love your videos they help alot but i have a major problem i can t sing so if you know anyone or if you can help please post a video titled lakota sing so i can find it thank you
dude, big fan of yours. picked up my guitar last year and have picked up all my songs for my ladies off from you! haa. keep it up mate... good times. if you could throw in a few more U2 + CCR songs that are easy it would be great. thanks
I recently bought a Martin DM to replace an old handed down POS I learned to play on. Great loud and clear sound, but play a lot of different ones before you buy. I think Mojo is playing an Ovation Elite. My brother has one and that is also a very nice acoustic.
Thanks. I like my ovation, but try a bunch of guitars before you decide. I played a lovely new Martin the other day. asking price was in the $500 range. Just an example :)
This is amazing! I've always wanted to be able to play this song, I sing it all the time. But I listen to the Janis version, do you think theres anyway you could make a quick video with her version if you ever have time? I'm desperate because I feel like your the only person that could teach it to me where I'd be able to actually play it!
I would also like to know about the strumming pattern. The video is extremely helpful but I cant seem to get the strumming pattern down. And again is it the same strumming pattern as Janice's?
Great lesson.. What is the strumming pattern on this song? if you don't mind me asking.. and can that same strumming pattern be used for janis's version?
Very nice and mellow lesson, I like the pace you set it is a good one and I thank you for your effort. Such a resource as the internet and people like your self that are so willing to give. This is just so great to help those of us that need so much help , Thank you very much.Ron

SavedfromSlavery 2 years ago
That makes two of us, as I am a lefty playing righty as well. So my advice is, take it down to 1 strum per beat, and then add up from there.
