typical of socialists/communists to do this. Implement years and years of socialist/communist policies, and then when it all goes tits up, tell the public it wasn't "true socialism/communism. With labour, its the same case.. we had 13 years of New Labour that they claim to be proud of whilst claiming it wasn't "true new labour".
When will these people learn that socialism/communism has nothing to do with equality, and has everything to do with controlling a government-dependent population.
@roflcopter2006 Firstly socialism cannot be used as socialism/communism, since they are widely different in political theory. New labour was a largely left wing ideology that was not particularly socialist in grounding, other than in the very beginning. It certainly wasn't anywhere near communism. Please google these theories, learn the history of how they have mean implemented, study Karl Marx, instead of belittling other peoples beliefs for which you demonstrate great ignorance.
@mryoung1989 Socialism is nothing more than communism light, and both fall into the same category of centralised government control, taking away individual decisions and freedom from the individual. I don't need google, and there-in is your problem. Any history book will show you that where socialist policies have been implemented as 'defined' by socialists, there's a been a mass exodus of the population to capitalist countries.
@mryoung1989 Karl Marx theories have been tried and tested, of course everytime its fallen flat on its face, and caused the misery and death of millions, you claim it not to be true socialism. I believe you're the one who's ignorant if you actually believe the theories of Karl Marx can ever be implemented, and overcome the most basic of human nature, putting ones self and family first.
@roflcopter2006 The purest form of socialism sure, but socialism has become something widely different for those of us currently not living in fear of the cold war. Overcoming human nature is not a bad thing - it's basic human nature to murder, but I think we'd all agree we're better off without it. Personally I believe that acting selfishly in both social and particularly economic policies is a very bad idea - all it does is increase the gap between rich and poor, see Margaret Thatcher.
Oh god, please do not let Ed balls become leader, *prays* please please.
But, isn't it odd how 2 brothers are competing for leadership? It's a bit of a lose lose situation whichever you pick, as your bound to get the horrible miliband pseudo socialist rhetoric.
With David as leader I have a feeling the UK will find itself in one of those Wilson/Heath situations where the PM position will be passed between 2 leaders over several elections. UK politics seems stuck somewhere in the middle despite the economic problems.
this is such BS!!! people please remember they say all this before election time, once their in its a different ball game, they must think we are all completly stupid
Oh why oh why didnt we pick David Miliband.

I love how these scumbags patronise us, claiming we 'never understood what they stood for', or their 'message wasn't clear enough.
It WAS clear enough; that's why I didn't vote labour and never will again.
When the mainstream parties actually GIVE us - the electorate - what we REALLY WANT, we may vote for them.
Sadly, they do not work for us, only against us.
Banking elite, corporations and powerful oligarchs are who they represent.

What a pile of shite to choose from.
Boulton and Sky doing their bit for the NWO, presenting the choice for the next elected Primeminister.
When I say 'choice', it is THEIR choice, really.

@Ckererec If Ed Balls won that would seal Labours fate for another term in opposition so it would be a good thing
