    little little doggy,

    do not fear,

    for you have are loved.

  • I have a male Beagle myself, Bubbie. I rescued him in the nick of time before he went to the pound. He HAD been abused and was only 8 mths old. Thank GOD we got him. No longer kept ALL THE TIME in a cage in a room with a closed door, only out to relieve himself. He has the run of the house and got along with the cats and Jack Russell Terrier. He thinks this is Heaven, I'm sure. What a lovie he is. We managed to, I HOPE, take away ANY of those bad memories.

  • KUDOS!!!!! An adorable doggy, makes me wanna hug my dog after seeing this!

  • IMO, we show just how positively humane we can be by the way we treat other animals with respect and love. Well done with what you're doing with Charlotte.

  • Nice dog you have there :)

It's nice to see a happy ending like this

And yes, shelter dogs are the cutest! I love my shepherd mix, Annie.

  • Thank you everyone for your kind comments!

Charlotte is just fine today (Oct. 2010) and even more relaxed and happy. She's just adorable, honestly.

  • chorlet is soo cute

  • this is the sweetest thing

  • She looks like my George he was an abused beagle as a puppy by a previous owner it took almost a year for him to bark.

  • You did a great job taking care of Charlotte! God bless you!

  • good job

  • My perfect world would be having enough land, money, food, etc. to house many dogs, cats, pigs, all animals.

  • Hey there! I had to watch this one again! It's great to see Charlotte come out of her shell!

    Yay for Charlotte!

  • @tsarstepan , Aaaww, thanks so much!

Watching Charlotte play was probably our best Christmas Present ever!

  • @elsbett1

It is a gift to see a formerly abused, neglected animal feel relaxed enough to play. I've got a cat who was abused, and it thrills me every time I see her play.

  • Thank you so much everyone for your kind comments!

Lacy, you're so right that these dogs rescue us.

We had no intention of adopting a third dog, but that day when her "owners" said they'd bring her to Animal Control by 5 PM, my husband brought her home.

We thought we'd find a better home for her, not realizing it would be OUR home. She stole our hearts, and the hearts of our 2 other dogs AND three cats!

  • Awsome, funny how we think we're rescuing them and then they really rescue us; I know my PitBull did he was abused as well but he is spoiled rotten now and luckily he was only 9weeks when I got him so he forgot all about it and took over here, the bed, covers and all. YES SHELTER DOGS ROCK, as do ya'll

  • Bless you for taking her in.

  • what a beautiful story, thanks for sharing...and thank you for rescuing those precious lives! happy holidays!!!

    ~hugs

  • I lufs her! And the pitbulls, and the kitty. Hugs and Merry Christmas!

  • @pennymcintosh

OMG you saw Happy! I didn't think anyone would notice his pouffiness in the background... he's another shelter rescue, of course!

Stimpy and Poo (Pit Bull Mixes) have been Perfect in their behavior with Charlotte. They adopted her too!

Thank you for your kind comments.
