I've never come across a book that contains my name (Lara), so I might just have to read this one! :) ....and also the fact that John Green is awesome :D
Just finished this book today. It was brilliant, and tells a great and memorable story. But, I don't think it is as good as his newest book The Fault in Our Stars which I also read a few days ago, it was just amazing.
I LOVE THIS BOOK. I dont read alot. And i went to my school library with friends screwing around trying to pass time for Language Arts, and i had to grab a book so i grabbed this book out of nowhere. And i never actually tried reading it. Then one day my teacher said we had to read our books for and hour and so I grabbed the book and tried it out. It was amazing. I cant believe i judge this book. This book was seriously amazing. This has to be one of my favorite books next to "The Outsiders." i
I went into reading this book having NO idea what happened..and when i got to "after" i was SO shocked and surprised that i cried and had to stop reading and couldn't pick up the book for days because i was so shocked and upset LOL but when i did finish it i LOVED IT
this book is john's most quotable book in my opinion, there's so many great passages and quotes. i tend to mark passages i liked from books and looking for alaska was FILLED with markers.
I just finished Looking for Alaska by John Green. I saw your review a while back and now that I've read it...girl, I am SO right there with you. It's SO brilliant. Gah. I don't even know what to read next!
I just finished it... and WOW. It was very different from what I expected. I didn't expect it to be so deep and emotional. I may do a review on my reading channel. It is hard though because I don't want to spoil anything.
I am assuming you are subscribed to the vlogbrothers? I absolutely adore john and hank green and I can honestly say that their channel is my favourite channel evar.
Yeah, Looking For Alaska is wonderful. I LOVED Pudge's essay at the end. It was just the perfect way to end a book.
Also, always watch for the last lines of John Green's books, because DAMN he knows how to end a novel. I don't mean like the wrap-up (which is also good), but he always just nails that perfect last line.
Oh, and John has an unpublished zombie apocolypse novella that he wrote for charity. You can search the internet for it, or I can send you a copy if you want :D
just for fun me and my friend were at barnes and asked the woman "do you have looking for shaniqwa by John Steen" and we went looking around and so she called us over the intercom saying "the customer who was looking for looking for shaniqwa please-" we didn't hear the rest because we laughed our asses off and yeah haha. great review i might pick this up one day.
I have heard so much about John Green and his books I am yet to actually pick up one, but I might start and put it on my wishlist. I am always wanting to read new authors. I agree with your opinions on contemporary fiction.
I cried so much after reading looking for Alaska and people were giving me so many weird looks because I was out in public! I wrote so many quotes from that book on a sticky note and it drove me crazy. An abundance of katherines Is incredibly hilarious!! How come you didn't pick up LET IT SNOW?
My favorite quote from the book:
"So I collapsed on the bottom bunk thinking that If people were rain I was driZzle and she was a hurricane"
We have the same taste in books! I love your book reviews because they are so helpful. I haven't read any John Green books but you've convinced me! Keep making these amazing videos :)
This is my favorite book! I'm so glad that you liked it. I think you need at new level to the scale: Extremely, Awesomely, Epicly, Amazingly, Readable!
Oh, i'm definitly buying this book now! Great review - as always! You have so much smart to say, I always end up buying the books you recommend! haha :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I don't know why I didn't find it interesting but glad you did. The thing I did love about the book was the fact that there was a character named Lara there are few characters in books/movies/tv with my name and when you were talking about her I said Thank you in my head haha I dunno why but you were saying so many nice things about her that I felt the need to.

I know what you mean : ) I am so glad that you loved it ,too.I felt like the book was very philosophical , sounds very silly but it felt like that for me when I read it.
