It's funny how you can tell an amateur cuz they are always comparing brands "canon is better" "nikon sucks" im a canon user and I love it, but I still take my hat off for nikon cuz I've seen some pictures that have blown my mind away. Canon takes the crown for lenses, but nikon makes great bodies.

You should also consider the Casio EX-F1 because it has a focus ring around the lens, a external mic jack, a hot shoe, a threaded lens for UV filters, and slow motion (if you want a fun bonus). Hard to believe it's from Casio. The problem is the price.

You should probably tone down your level of hatred to PCs because you sound ignorant. I dunno, PCs are alot more "backdoor" accessible to people who tune them. Lots of overclocking, lots of easy modifications to make, easy to custom build, super high compatability with games... the windows os may suck hard but the hardware that is compatible with the OS doesn't suck. And alot of games available for PC don't seem to run as well on windows-emulated mac. just a couple of pointers... my 0.02

There is nothing a Mac can do a PC can't. Macs are easily over twice as much as a pc with the same specs. PCs only get viruses and crash if you don't know how to use it properly. PCs are compatible with far more software, games and hardware. I'm not saying PC>Mac, just suggesting you don't pretend your opinion is fact. by the way, this is a camera video, so I don't know how this came up.

its too bad that casio do not deliver the same resolution image quality and lenses. i want to see a true dslr like this capturing full 21mp stills at 60 frames per second. that would change photography

i just dont wanna listen to what "was totally unimaginable a few years ago" anymore.. just put it together. put it on the market, because customers are well informed nowadays. new processor? allright. i´m pretty sure there´ll be a better one after that. just gimme full HD (with a good codec) video in my hand without an egg boiling camera body. at least i get the feeling we´re getting close with the MK II (which hides the main feature in sub-menus..*shaking my head*).

powershot sx1 is - Another step on for this camera it is to put in this camera the hole for and external mic and change the way it control diafram - it is very unconfortable to change it beeing placed on the right of the monitor the place where it should be is up of the camera as always it were I really don't know why canon put this botton to controll diafram frontal it is a design mistake make the changement I suggested and this camera will be the best in the world

great camera...but one serious problem. when using at full 20x zoom, the camera keeps selecting ISO200 which gives over-exposed shots with too much noise. only way to stop it is to use program and lock ISO to 80 or 100. anyone else have this problem??? If so, is there a solution for it?

I was waiting for a very long time for Sony-Konica-Minolta manufacturer to bring the Full Frame. Then I was very disappointed about the big grip of this camera (Sony A900) which would NOT practical for my work. Then in other hand I hold this Canon 5DII, and felt this would a much better one for me.

If that's your only gripe....well...talk about focusing (excuse the pun) on the negative. Photography has been around for a very long time before AF and if you stop relying on it 100% of the time your photography..and knowledge will imrove ten fold. The AF system in the 5d is actually ok and certainly would not hold me back from buying such an awesome camera.

Come on! If focus points focus good, it can be better than Nikon's 51 Focus Points!

Also, according to Popular Photography Canon doesn't focus as fast as Sony in bright lighting, but it does do a better job than that in low-light, even at -2 EV murk!

I've watched several videos and read several reviews of the new 5D Mark II. I must admit at first I was skeptical. After reading the reviews and watching the videos, I am now very interested. the 5d II has an archaic, obsolete auto-focus system. look it up- you'll be shocked. it's like making a 1000hp/1000ft-lb car and putting a "glass" gearbox that's rated for 100ft-lb. very seriously silly move, Canon! you've now truly become a marketing company, not the techno-innovator you used to be.
