.... back-sticking is the best thing that has happened to marching since then invention of the paradiddle. If I had a dollar for ever time I've used backsticking, i'd probably have at least 15 dollars... If I were stranded on a deserted island with one stick trick... it would most definitely be the back stick. This guy is a god among men. He deserves a parade.... and would somebody please get the guy a decent pair of sticks?

I must be getting really old as my memory has begin to fail me. When I was in the marching band from high school all he way through college, I remember the snare drum sound having a deeper, richer sound coupled with a definitive "BUZZ" produced by the snare. Almost all the videos, including this one, sound tinny, bell like and devoid of that resonate rattle I learned to love as we marched en mass into the stadium. Maybe it is the lack of quality acoustics or recording devices.
