IBM ThinkPad T30 Review

funny thing is, this laptop, with 1GB of ram, almost 2Ghz processor is an F'n powerhouse if you glance back to the year 2006....that wasn't THAT long ago, folks, and our multimedia needs haven't changed a single solitary iota since then!

There's one of these on Craigslist Seattle today, selling for $155 and it has 2GB of ram. I bet the seller would take $125 easily...and for a tank of a laptop with IBM's name on it...booting up in 50 seconds, no less!

@intelcorei7d5958 kk, ya i once got the drivers for the card but then wen the computer was wiped i lost the drives lol..... I don't really use the ibm any meow cause I got a macbook pro so ya thanx anyway

You said at the back is a keyboard port but it isn't I dont know what is it but ...

under at the bottom right is the ram and the up one is for the modem converter and the wifi... (I have the same one dated 1998 and it woks )

Well, your version is kinda slow because you haven't installed your graphics card drivers.

I've got the same laptop with a 2.00 GHZ CPU and it boots under 35 seconds.

BTW: The graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 32MB.

Also, the freezing issue comes either from the hard drive or the RAM. I had the same issue with this lappy, I replaced my harddrive and it was fine. I still use it today sometimes, but I normally use my new PC though.

@TheTechy1 All the T30's come with ATI Mobility Radeon 7500.

Also, I have just noticed, the drivers are not avaliable anymore... D:

@TheTechy1 the issue is that it likes to just shut off on me win i try to install anything VLC , google chrome whatever and if it doesnt shut off i get non-stop installation errors Java does that everytime as well as flashwve and shockwave player i have tried these U / X / L / Kbuntu , Fedora 14 DamnSmallLinux, Puppylinux ( i hated this one ) if you want a full list ill send it in a message i want to try openSUSE but i dont want to format again cuz i no i kill the HDD everytime i do that

im only using it for net and older game's...and what soundproblem those you laptop have..can you showe it in a video maybe i can help.

@Bandoo88 the sound problems is that no sound comes out of the speakers. The only way i can get sound is by plugging in a head set

Thats not a keybord in..thats a s-video out...and you cant put battery ind the place of the dvd....but not bad video...(ohh..and im using a t30..every day...and its perfect...)

@Bandoo88 lol thanx for watching and ya my T30 has a sound problem and it is just not fast enough for gaming and video editing so i will probably not be using it for to long. (at least as my main computer)
