Well, I'm not going to lie- I was in a good amount of pain for about two weeks after surgery...BUT....I also have a pre-existing kidney condition which was part of the pain as well. Just be adamant with your doctor/surgeon that you want to have an excellent pain management program ready for post-surgery. bossy? Writing late at night and in a hurry. Gastric Bypass is a good choice but more risky than Gastric Sleeve. I only recommended the sleeve and LB because you only wanted to lose 50 - 60 lbs. Had you said you wanted to lose 150 then I def would have recommended the bypass. Thanks for replying back.

LOL I've never heard Alicia Silverstone before. When I was thinner, people would stop me in stores and tell me I looked like Anna Nicole Smith. I know she was gorgeous, but she wasn't the brightest bulb, so I didn't always take that as a compliment. lol Let me know how the Omega 3s work for you!

Hello, Just wanted to tell you that I had the same surgery back on 08-29-07 and I was also 303# I am now down to 215# and it is slow going not but the sugery was the best thing I could of ever done for my health... All my blood work are in normal ranges. WoHoo... keep it up

Krbtv, the gastric band is not as effective as the bypass, also has more risks involved.
My Mum had a stomach prolapse due to the band slipping from not being fitted correctly. She is now having to have a bypass.

You would be better off with the Gastirc Sleeve or a Lap Band.
