no, it isnt. 75% of my family is straight from italy, and if they aren't then their parents are. none of them call it gravy. calling meat sauce gravy is strictly a NY/NJ thing, and it just sounds stupid. go to italy or anywhere else and ask for gravy and theyll look at you like you have 5 heads
lol...ok listen, my family is also from italy, a city called fano, and i am originally from connecticut, not new york or new jersey, so to each is own, you call it sauce, i call it gravy...it doesn't matter i still agree with your nonni...italians spend alot of money on food
i believe her, and i bet half of it would have been from sunday gravy and italian bread.
