I have used a steri-pen in several western states, with mostly positive results. I upgraded from a sweetwater system. The real advantage is weight, but i would NOT recommend using rechargable batteries (i use the e^2 ones) and carry iodine tabs as a back up. (extra batteries won't help with a broken bulb.) and get familial with it before you go out. you should be able to keep the mouth of the nalgene dry with the prefilter and know how to remove it with out spreading contaminates.
What kind of battery life are you getting with your rechargables and what brand/type of batteries are you using?
I just got my SteriPen Classic one day ago and I have been playing with it indoors(Its snowing out). On freshly charged brand new Duracell white top (aka "Duraloop") I was only able to get 14 liters before the low battery indicator flashed. Then I was able to get another 5 liters before the SteriPen quit working do to low batteries.
@WisconsinEric sorry for the late response I had finals haha but honestly I haven't really pushed the limit of the batteries. I am just using the green rechargeable and I have gotten 6 at most on a hike with no problems but i recharge every time I get home so I really am not sure =/
@fhood Worth every penny and it is nice to have a few devices on double A's too because they aren't really that expensive! Thanks again for the support!

Good video, You should use youtube's anti-shake feature though... it would make the video much easier to watch
