America should die for this.... they litteraly tortured a car 50 years underground and now its scrap.... very sad... dumbasses should have kept it in a garage on blocks or someting...
Even in this decrepid condition, This car looks better than most cars built today. HEY DETROIT! News break here, It costs as much to build an ugly car as it does to build a sexy one.
that boyd guy sounds like a major prick!! i dont like him !! as for the plymouth it deserves to be restored not just preserved!! i've seen cars in worse shape than this and have been restored to immaculate condition !
bet if you tried to wash it you would have nothing left but a pile of mud and rust. if you don't do anything with it now its gonna be lost very soon anyway.
If this car gets restored 90% of it would end up being replaced....so leave it as it is... like Boyd said it's bitchin! I love it as it is, a 57 from 57!
I don't know about that. You need oxygen for steel to rust. And the car was underground where it had very little exposure to air, so the rust may actually be fairly superficial. I wouldn't want to see it restored either, though. It would take all the character out of the car.
@MrLangley59 He would even multi task- hed get the car running while at the same time touching your adolescent daughter. Hes an admitted pedophile that youtubers seem to forgive because he does stupid shit on a farm and posts rediculous vids and admitted to it but says hes changed- thats a mental condition not a reprogrammable behavior. Even convicts in jail have morals and kid touchers are disposed of if given a chance when guards arent looking.
I always wondered if the 6pks of beer they had left in the trunk for the grand reopening ceremony made it through alright??? Probably tasted the same way the car looked. Like S!@$
it was a let down to see the car come out in such bad shape but in such good shape as well. i can't wait until January 18, 2048 for them to be bringing up a 1998 Plymouth prowler i hope it come's out better looking the Miss Belvedere did
LMAO! Let me get this straight, your calling me a lowlife? Ironic that someone who gets hard looking at pictures of vehicles he will never be able to afford is calling someone else a loser.
Anyways, like I said, this car is a piece of junk that should be done away with. Leave it to an oh so intelligent Okie to actually try and have this thing restored.
haha... this would be a perfect setup for a sequel to Christine. besides this car looks more like the kind car that would roll away and kill people at night. it looks more evil than christine did...haha
Jeroen3nl you realy are a prime example of someone that has opened his mouth before putting his brain in gear. This car and presenter are both legends like thelowmax has said if you knew what you was talking about you wouldnt make such sweeping coments. You truely are a wanker.
@GTAGlendale well think about it... if it didn't go in a time capsule, it probably would have ended up in a junk yard, like most 50s cars, or in the middle of a field looking like the rusty glendale in the woods of san andreas... either way, the car would probably end up as scrap... but at least this one has a cool story to go with it
Hey take it easy, when it comes to americans, yea there are some stupid ones I'll give you that, but dont include all of us. I maintain my own cars, I dont evn take it to an oil change place, NOBODY WORKS ON MY CARS BUT ME, is my life style, and my family is in the proccess of finishing a 49 ford custom, restoring a 64 ford truck, and on the way is a 66 galaxie and an 88 olds 442, so when you say americans, please put most in front of it.
wpaschal88 It's sad that you fed into the anti-American rhetoric, pleading that jeroen3nl not insult all Americans, just most of them. Great job on defending yourself alone though. To me, that's more indicative of the problems in our country.
@jeroen3nl - It's small of you to condemn a country and it's people by a novelty. This obviously wasn't a scientific experiment and certainly is not how anyone, American or not, cares for their car. The United States was built on and by the automotive industry and most of us take great pride in our vehicles, as well as most aspects of our lives (like most people on the planet).
@jeroen3nl - Lastly... your comment was far more telling of your lack of intelligence than critical of Americans. Had you actually watched and listened, you would have known that, technically, the car WAS stored in a pool, as the container that held it had cracked and filled with water. I don't care what your nationality is. I'm basing your stupidity on you and your comment alone.
well im sorry to hurt every americans feelings and i opoligize for it. but still it would have looked like new if it were to bee stored in a water filled container of wich the water couldnt vaporize since the mixture of air/water rusts metal thats why cars in the desert dont rust not enough water in the air ;)
i heard that the back springs popped under the cars weight and from being rusted out thats why it sits so low in the rear and also that there is no longer any info on miss belvedere
Just checked it out, thanks for the heads up! It's too bad back then they didn't put the idiots who thought of this idea inside the car when they buried it, imagine the stupidity of man. Anyway, I'm glad to see it's getting de-rusted!
i agree by far. he had many great great mechanics working for him that he treated like shit. working them to death 65 hours a week till they had to quit after being to worn out. sad sad sad
Ha, ha...still laughing about that one..."don´t open the trunk"...
I read that they buried a 2007 Plymouth Prowler to be unearthed in 2057, I hope they preserve it better than they did with this one. Maybe with one of those bubble wraps that cut your fingers when you try to open them...a giant one please.

Its like they went out to any ole dump and picked out a good for nothing rusty old heap. This had to be the biggest hick town bloopers of all time!
I mean really!
Its like they dug up a dead half rotten corpse from the city graveyard, dressed it up and pranced it around as if it were in a beauty pageant.
OOOH the humanity!
And then they tried to play it off like "Look! SEE... its alright...its fine..yeah..heh..don't she look fine?"
How embarrassing
