Audrey Kathleen, You Were A Beautiful Lady Outside and Mostly Inside. Will Hold you Close in Our Hearts, While God Holds You In His Arms. Moon River-Dear Lady- Shall remain As Long as The Tide Ebbs & Flows.
The song was composed by Jonny Mercer and Henry Mancini did the music. The song was made for the Movie and Audrey. Andy did the song in 61 after the movie.
Andy Williams might have recorded it first but it was composed for the movie and Audrey Hepburn.
this is a great cover, but just to let you know...the song isn't originally by Audrey, It was by either Andy Williams or Henry Mancini...or possibly someone else, but yeah.
Henry Mancini wrote this song specially to the movie and to be sung by Audrey.
"It took me a long time to figure out what Holly Golightly was all about. One night after midnight I was still trying. I don't drink much, but I was sipping. And it came to me. I wrote ["Moon River"] in half an hour.".
And Holly Golightly is just the song. A drifter dreaming and seeking for something she didn't know for sure.
I like your version. Not everyone can sing this song well. Singing always makes always me feel better...and if this is what you like to do, keep it up despite what people say. Do what makes you happy. =0)
This is a hard song to find a good key for, because of the range. I think your version is very nice. The prerecorded background "defines" the style, and you captured it well.

This doesn't have any life to the recording.. sounds like she's ketatonic.. almost going through the motions to get a paycheck and go home..
I like the movie version better. It had more feeling and sentimentality.

This is a lovely version, and you can tell that the song means a lot to you by your interpretation.
