  • Do u have a twitter account?

  • I am having some serious hair envy....wow

  • how does someone with short hair that doesnt reach eye level yet do search and detroy becaue hair is decent length but its not long enogh to pull to my eyes please help!

  • How did you dry your hair during your transition? did you use a blow dryer or air dry?

  • What's your hair type?

  • Hi Chime! I have a request. Is it possible you could do a bun tutorial of some sort? The one you had in your hair journey video was so pretty.

  • I asked my dermatologist about split ends and if they cause the hair not to grow. He said no, it's like a tear in the cuticle of your nail, eventually it will tear off on it's on and your hair grows from your scalp once it burst through the hair folicle hair is dead anyway. He said 'not cutting your split ends won't cause your hair to grow. But yet I hear so many hair stylist advocate cutting split ends or your hair won't grow. I'm going with what the trained dr says.

  • @nancydrew5 You hair is constantly growing because hair grows from the scalp like your doctor said but if your ends are split you won't be able to retain length because your hair is going to break off where the split is. It is true it will eventually tear off on its own but it will leave a damaged end. If a clean cut is not made with sciccors then the end will likely split again and eventually break off and you won't be able to retain length.

  • oh my gosh, you're truly one of the most beautiful women I have EVER saw, you're my role model. :)

  • My brother said he will marry you lol by the way your hair is gorgeous

  • Nice diagram :D

  • My hair falls at the bottom of my neck and at the bottom of my ears on the sides. i can't even see my hair so so how can i dust my own ends. I defiently want to do it because i'm afraid my hair wont grow.

  • Thanx for the tips. Quick question- I've always cut my knots cause I thought if I leave them, the knots wud gather and mat other hair to it. Is this not true in your experience and have u ever heard of this happening? Thanx.

  • Im 22 and have been doing this since the 9th grade, I dont let anyone cut my hair because they tend to take too much off so I trim it myself and I usually search for split ends weekly, I also do the same with my daughters hair.

  • how do u do it when ur hair is so short cuz im transitionin and im 14 and i dont wana handle a siccors by my hair :S

  • Still waiting on your blow out video you mentioned in a past video lady...loved your detail in this video.

  • I always dust my ends it seems like constantly? and especially when I'm putting in twists. Thanks for the paper trick! It's always really hard for me to see..

Question..Does long hair genetically run in your family. I'm just curious as to just HOW much genetics play into how long ones hair will actually grow.

  • I had knots, tapers, right angles, feathers and some crinkles. :( Now I have a few feathers since I started my HHJ.

  • Hi Chime! Do you sometimes not touch your hair. Like going a week or so w/o re-styling it? Not manipulating it in some way everyday? Just letting it be, letting it rest? Btw your hair is freakin awesome. I love how you can see your length. You don't have like 90% shrinkage.

  • i cannot wait to see your upcoming videos! they sound so interesting :)

  • The earrings and the dress are beautiful.

  • ha i didn't know other people do this... :D

  • that is why ur hair is so long and beautiful looking at each strand. girl u gots the patience of job.

  • where did you get that diagram?? This would help be out so much!

  • YouTube won't let me post the link in the comment box but I put it in the description box below the video.

  • What about the knots? Do you cut them?

  • can u do this on transitioning hair or does your hair have to be completely natural

  • thanks for sharing...how do you recommend doing this for shorter hair. Specifically the back. Thanks.

  • i never find split ends on the ends of my hair.i am 4 years natural and haven't seen a split end on my hair before.do i have to wait a couple of years before i begin seeing them?i have never flat ironed my hair and i only do wash n gos but i see naturals who do the same thing and still find split ends on their hair.or maybe am not looking at the right places??

  • @cherryboboc Girl, it's great that you don't get them! If your haven't gotten them in 4 years I don't see why you would get them in the future unless you stopped taking good care of your hair. If you don't see them on the ends of your hair strands you just don't have them.

  • Thank you LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!

  • haha you are the only one i hear that says twa instead of T.W.A.... by the way you look pretty in that color :-)

  • I do that but it helps me to get treatments every so often to seal the ends and it makes a huge difference!

  • omg!!! new vid!!!! im such a dork but this excited me!

  • Thanks for the video! Is it possible to do a video on search and destroy? I mean, what is it?. I think I've seen it on youtube. Maybe I need to look again. Is it a way to do the search and destroy method???? I know the dusting but the other one??????

OK NEVER MIND. ITS THE SAME THING, SOME PEOPLE CALLED IT DUSTING AND OR SEARCH AND DESTROY ~SORRY~

  • @organicloc Sorry to confuse you. I think most people refer to what I am doing in the video as the search and destroy method and cutting your hair little by little dusting.

  • I don't cut knots either, because they're inevitable with kinky/curly/coily hair. They really are lol. You might be able to minimize, but you ain't going to avoid them 100%.

  • Omg, that blue is absolutely gorgeous on you!!

  • @tigerlilyxoxo Thank you! I love blue, green, and orange!

  • Can't wait to view your vids...!!! :-)

  • Wow, I used to do that all the time and never knew it was called "dusting". It is fascinating to find one strand that looks like a tree branch with splits covering roughly an inch and a half at times. Like another poster said, "it is addicting" lol. At least you will be happy with the results and your hair will thank you =)

  • if you dust your ends while your hair is dry, doesn't it make split ends appear faster? i heared that one should cut hair while thay are wet n i am confused now.. i'm sorry for my english btw :)

  • thx 4 sharing

  • I use the split-ender.

  • I use the split-under. It helped me reach bra strap length in less than a year. I swear by it!!!

  • @sexxxyeye34 I have never heard of that. I'll have to google it!

  • @HairCrush split ender is the name of it. I'm buying myself one for christmas! There are a lot of reviews on it here on YT :) check them out!

  • @sexxxyeye34 split-under??? dets please?!!

  • Love your gorgeous long hair and love your videos. Awesome

  • thank you so much for this video!! I've never heard of this!

  • I just did mine earlier today. I really got into to it. I love taking care of my hair.It has a great side effect...... retained length:)

  • Can't wait to see your sister bc

  • Why don't you cut knots? Just curious.

  • Yes, I do this all the time. I understand what you mean when you say it's fun. I do this when I'm on the phone or watching tv. I haven't done it in a while; after watching this video I think I will. Thanks for reminding me. I love your videos! By the way, you mentioned in another video that you love to co-wash. Do you ever get too much build up? If so, how can you tell? Thanks! .-_-

  • Dusting is SO addicting! I do it 24/7

  • how do you do this if you have shorter hair... I can see my hair the way you can...

  • omg i hate knots in my hair lol. it doesn't get split ends... so i cut all the knots off :)

  • I love your videos. Do you do buns or updo's. If so, can you post a hair style diary. Thx

  • @HISWil143 A video of pics of different hairstyles coming soon!!

  • why dont you cut your knots?

  • @NycAttentionWhore I do sometimes but I have read that knots do not make your hair any less healthy especially since I don't flat iron it on a regular basis. I have heard some people say that having knots is bad for your hair though. I guess it's all in what you believe. I don't think it is terrible to have knots b/c it's just a healthy strand that has looped and become a knot.

  • @HairCrush are you referring to single strand knots or tangles? my problem is that I have TONS of tangles. no matter how long I comb my hair, no matter how short I cut it, it is forever tangled. I was told I shed A LOT but I think it's just because of the tangles, my theory is that the hairs that shed don't fall out until I comb it. If I really do shed too much, I think I would see bald spots.

  • How long do you take? It seems SO tedious.

  • YAYYYYY excited about ur up coming videos!!

  • @brionnakennedy Me tooo!!!

  • wow.. ur hair is beautiful!!

  • I love dusting/search and destroying for hair health!

  • Thanks for posting this video. This is a reminder that I really need to stop being intimidated and start dusting my ends

  • everytime i start 'dusting my ends' i end up taking off like 3 inches of hair

  • This method is usually referred to as search and destroy. dusting is trimming a tiny amount, usually 1/8 to 1/4 an inch

  • @afrikurl Yeah, I've heard people call it different things. I've always called this dusting even though the method isn't what most people do when they dust. To me when I do this the hair looks like dust on the floor. I don't want to confuse anyone but it is most known as "Search and Destroy" method.

  • wow... ur hair is awesome

  • @dadacomedian I agree... here hair is awesome!

  • @Kenneth2890 its all long and luscious
