  • I am glad that Chek News did not actually close down - and is now employee owned and operated.

  • takako uehara!

  • CKNX was a pioneering TV station and is greatly missed. In fact, CKNX AM 920 started it all. As a kid growing up on a Bruce County farm in the 1970s and 1980s we made fun of both CKNX radio and TV

  • Can you post a video for the 6:00 p.m. newscast for the final moments of CKX-TV which signed-off permanently on October 2, 2009?

  • I would of liked to, but CKX is not carried on Rogers here so there is no way I could of captured it.

I think the next clip I will be putting up if all goes well is Jay Cambell's last forecast on CFPL (Oct 16)

  • That is so sad, a station that survived the Great Depression, the 1st and 2nd World Wars, and to be put to rest because they want to downsize? That's pathetic. It seems like everything is shutting down and closing in Wingham, it's only matter of time before it turns into a Ghost Town and disappears off the map.

  • I believe that is Steve Young anchoring in that 1992 shot of CKNX.

  • Many of these clips appeared in "Transitions" video broadcast aired some years earlier.

  • Channel 8 is now just a CFPL repeater? or is it off the air completely?

  • repeater

  • CHEK has not closed.. yet.

  • Thanks for puting this up. I was watching this eariler and i was reily sad... well what are they going to do when they have to down size for more profits.
