From someone living in northern ireland. Most of of us want to move on. The old divisions have only caused heartache and despair.

In all the years I lived in Royston - we always got on well with one another and I never even thought about if my pal was catholic or protestant. This march is about going back into the past.

It almost seems like glasgow is going back in time.

@telemetry9 Indeed and well said mate. Glasgow does seem to be stuck in a time warp. Most people who hate protestants/catholics are mostly iignorant and probably do not even know why they hate them.

I always find it helpful to put yourself in someone elses shoes and think what you would have done if faced with the same circumstances.

It was the British that made this into a religous fight. Divide and conquer is what they do and many fell for it.

I think that like a lot of cities that once had a purpose for its people - there is a void now. It is very much like evil to come in and fill that. Really - growing up in the 70's in Germiston. Society seemed healthier and more progressive when we were growing up. It's much harder for people to pull themselves out of the blame game when there isn't much hope. It's easier to try and identify an external source for our problems - much harder to look at ourselves for answers.
