@sharp944 it's a H80 producing 80 lbf or ~ 36 kgf of maximum sustained thrust but it can do 100 lbf for short periods. It costs 8000-10000 $ with an aditional FADEC system not present on this engine that prevents flameouts and can do auto-start/stop. It has ~ 5.5 kg with starter motor and 156 mm outer diameter + it consumes 0.8 l /min. I have a friend that manufactures them if your interested in buying one or getting the plans for it.
great stuff - unfortunately I read that they wont be flying the jetbugs anymore as the company that provided the support for the jet engines has gone bust.
Holy shit i'm making me one of these!!!!!

I Love it!
Foot launch and fly to a ridge,
hang out all day... no rope, no crew, no towplane... hang gliding free of hassle.
The BEST!

This is the BOMB! No puns please...
For me, I cannot launch from any mountains or
ridges but, with this, I can access from the air, drop in and shutdown the motor.
Only for a flat land launch and for climbing,
no rape... just airtime for flatlanders.

to put it into context, it is a display aircraft, it is not for production.
Yes it is larger than life and it is incredible fun.
'This is hang gliding rape' is the same as accusing the automobile of horse rape, get a life please!
