  • i goin to order this movie

  • " You're an ant in the afterbirth... "

  • Michael Mann always picks interesting music for his movies and tv shows.Miami Vice always had trippy tunes and so did Heat.Cool styles in Manhunter too.Always loved this soundtrack

  • This should have played at the end of the movie.

  • I love this track (especially the intro) but for some reason, I dont care as much for it when the drums come in at 1:10

  • "Francis is gone. Forever"

  • "Hi, this is Valerie Leeds. I'm sorry I can't come to phone right now".

  • @dsdan83 I'm sorry too...:(

  • @dsdan83 "I'm sorry too..."

  • This is the way i feel.

  • There is no pain, you are receding...

  • @sharkboy85 I was thinking the same thing

  • awesome track, a f**cking timecapsule!!

  • I remember the year this movie came out and my Aunt and Uncle came over for Christmas dinner.

"What do you want to do when you grow up?", they asked innocently.

"I want to be an FBI profiler that hunts down serial killers."

    "............."

    True story.

  • @velveetaslingshot so what did you become?

  • Genialer Soundtrack !!!

  • Great scene from such a brilliant underrated movie.

  • don johnson should have played graham!

  • This sound track, let alone the film, well if you know what i mean, then you will know what i mean.

  • I love 80's synth music. A track very similar to this was used in animal kingdom.

  • ur watching these videos!!

  • Every time I hear this the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. So emotional.

  • @mplumridge220859 Could not agree with you more, Mann is awesome, and picks wonderful musicians to help tell his stories. I don't know why, but this song, and the songs from Thief are so powerful, they speak volumes, and have no vocals...so internal..this song makes my heart ache...like i am losing my girl to the killer, like my son is in danger.. i am running to them both...amazing the power of music. Thanks.

  • It's Comfortably Numb...

  • @campion95 that's what i think of everytime i see this movie

  • ahhhhh the 80s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 6 people need hunting down - seriously!

  • I got the original soundtrack CD via the mail last week; it's awesome. A cool, moody, calming, atmospheric 80s classic. Next soundtrack: Heat. Go ebay!

  • manhunt.com

  • Ahh the 80's - my decade :) cant beat it end of!

  • @ismaelkhan Damnit, why the hell was I born about 20 years too late? D*:> I was in the very end of 90s!

  • @Werewolf9098 that's your parents fault ;) - only kidding! i was born the same year this film was made :)

at least you know quality cinema when you see it! how old are you anyway?

  • @ismaelkhan Yeah? Happy you...

Well, they don't let me see it -.- I'm 13 in the end of November :P

  • Crawford, "Films of the families in document storage" The Leeds film, Gateway Labs St. Louis, Mo, Will, "the Jacoby label will say the same", Crawford, "No, Bob's Photo Store Birmingham", Will, "stores send them out, peel the top label back, Crawford,"is there a label underneath? Will, "it does doesn't it"...the pinnacle of this music plays as Will places his hand on the window...I found you my man, one of my favorite cinema moments.

  • @ITYWITFL You've seen these films! Haven't you, my man?

  • @ITYWITFL

Same here. What an amazing, revelatory moment. And no big budget, explosions, or CGI will ever top that type of acting or direction. Ever.

  • I saw this in 1986 when it first came out, I was captivated then and now 25 years later still am, the soundtrack is priceless. I have the Director's cut DVD and the end is kinda cool since it shows Will going to the "next" family's house, after he shoots Dollarhyde with those Glaser Safety Slugs, just to make sure they are ok. I am sincerely grateful to all of the awesome comments about this film. I am and will always be a huge fan of Michael Mann. Miami Vice is still a favorite.

  • Fab film, watched it on DVD on Fri. Lurrve Will Peterson, the bit where he jumps through the window, Mmm mmmmm!!

  • This piece of music is so motivating. You just don't hear this in movies these days, and I don't mean the awesome 80's style, but atmospheric build that really hits the soul of the character and the audience. There are so many layers to this track, just as there are so many layers to Will Graham.

  • @derek1600

that's because it's a Michael Mann film-it's the way he practices his craft, it's his signiture

  • @derek1600

that's because it's a Michael Mann film-it's the way he practices his craft, it's his signiture. The music reaches deep inside of you and grabs you, or it kinda sneaks up on you

  • @derek1600

that's because it's a Michael Mann film-it's the way he practices his craft, it's his signiture. The music reaches deep inside of you and grabs you, or it kinda sneaks up on you.

As far as Will Graham: William Peterson is a first rate actor, not to mention the films' cast that includes veteran actor Dennis Farina and others.

  • I also want to know who are the five people who disliked this? What is there to dislike? This is the only song from the movie I couldn't buy on itunes.

  • Serious, who are the five people that disliked this?

  • You've seen these films !! .. Haven't you my man??

  • Thanks for the thumbs-ups, guys. I keep coming back to this classic.

  • after of Psico the best picture about killers, an excelent film, do you remember in a gadda da vida secuence.

  • A padlock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's just you and me now, sport. And I'm going to find you, God damn it.

  • Is there something missing from the beginning of this track? It sounds like there should be more to it.

  • Red Dragon is piece of crap. I love Brian Cox dr Lector than Hopkins

  • "You touch her sonofabitch won't you?"

    Nice score

  • comfortably numb, tell me different

  • @LIVEREALFOOLED

Yeah it's close to it, but different enough for me to enjoy it immensely in its own right. Comfortably Numb kicks ass as well obviously.

  • @baphochrist Indeed. I'm also happy to say that both songs make me think of transitions between happiness and somberness. Both songs are just incredibly powerful!

  • Dream much Will?

  • @Shanethefilmmaker

Do you know how you caught me, Will?

  • @Wytchfinde You caught me because we are very much alike.

  • Brilliant I love this one.

  • Your primary sensory intake - that makes you dream live - is seeing. Mirrors... reflections... images... You've seen these films! Haven't you, my man?

  • and I'm gonna find you Goddamnit

  • I could easily picture Sonny Crockett looking pensively into the camera on a Miami Vice re-run set to this music. For an even better version of this piece, check YouTube for "Confrontation" from the movie "Thief"--way better, trust me. Pink Floyd's "comfortably Numb" even beats that IMHO.

  • Loved this music in the scene. Him standing at the window with that building in the background... amazing. Staring at his reflection.

  • I love the soundtrack to this movie, espcially this little number, a very moody and haunting tune. Adds perfectly to the movies theme.

  • Almost sounds like Vangelis' music for Blade Runner, until the beat kicks in anyway.

  • A perfect film.

  • still one of the most visually beautiful movies out there...

  • Michael Mann's Masterpiece...MANHUNTER.

  • 5 people don't like crazy and murderous psychiatrists

  • just you and me now sport...

  • Same pattern than Comfortably Numb, by Pink Floyd.

  • 5 people need hunting down me thinks :)

  • "Doggy doesn't have a coller, but you know its the Leeds dog"...

  • Moving...wow...

  • "You've seen these films!"

  • very simular to confrontation, 1980 thief but still a very nice theme indeed :) a big yes and thumbs up from me, also from my year of birth - yey

  • 3 people disliked this. They probably listen to lady gaga.

  • "Hi, this is Valery Leeds, I'm sorry I can't make it to the phone right now"

    Graham: "I'm sorry too"

    Manhunter is EPIC!!!!!!!

  • "It's just you and me now sport....god damnit I'm gonna find ya"

  • Wil Graham making "the connection" between the killings and the films, with this track slowly rising in the background, has to be one of the most powerful scenes in cinema history. I could (and have) watched it so many times.

  • @Tripswitch1000 that is what is so brilliant about this piece of music...it escalates and crescendos simultaneously with Graham's discovery...this is what music scoring is about! I am still mesmerized every time I see it

  • @Tripswitch1000 This film is so underrated its a crime!

  • this film had some sick soundtracks deeper in the film though this is whatev

  • @Tripswitch1000 Yeah, that's easily my favourite moment in the film, the fact that it's just one long camera shot of Will Petersen the whole way through makes it even better.

  • @Tripswitch1000 when he looks through window out into the city and realises he's finally seeing through the eyes of the killer. Mesmerising!

  • @johnnymac227 He's looking at the John Hancock building here in Chicago!!! Love it!!

  • You've seen these tapes..?

  • Respect SimonCloud I really dont want to spend that amount on soundtrack but then again how much do I want/need it. I think its inevitable.......Amazon here we come! Cheers!

  • Agreed with cornerpin. Where, oh where can we find the OST for this film, on any format? Hell, I'd settle for a gramaphone copy if nothing else. : P

  • aha - my theme LOL :-)

  • I NEED this films soundtrack! Where and how much! Someone do me a favour! Give me a shout let me know. I would be extremely grateful! Michael Mann films are superb! Not just cinematically but musically near on perfection, bring on Manhunter soundtrack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cornerpin1882 Amazon.com - $19.99 last time I looked.

  • I have this Album on my ipod ; )

    ...How could i not ?

  • When i mentioned clowns on this page??

I wasn't talkin about yourself man!

  • In funny kinda way, it kinda has a late 70's early 80's blue pornography feel to it...

Thats me havin a bit of a laugh!

To all the clowns out there, who dont get what i'm on about ??

    ...DON'T TAKE IT LITERALLY !!

  • Alotta clowns on this page...

  • Too bad none of the songs on the "Manhunter" soundtrack made the cut for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

  • Great film, the music really adds to it..jm

  • simply the best goddam film ever made!!

  • This has a Pink Floyd kind of sound, although more upbeat.

  • Shut the hell up kids, i'm trying to listen to the song here

  • @RFARFA Tell me about it. These kids got no taste these days (and this is coming from a guy in his 30s lol)

  • if i said anything that offends you... my apologies

  • maybe i misunderstodd you and all your posts.....if i have i apologize..i am not too big a person to do that

  • by the way this is no porno music....its meant to make the scene of the movie ....intense. i guess if you wack off to this it might be intenese for you you perv

  • @mrglennon11 ...lol!!

  • It's great when everything just falls into place and you realize along with the lead character at the exact same time that he must have seen the tapes. Just as this awesome music starts playing in the background.

  • And you know you need a bolt cutter and every other damn thing,,,

  • I have the full original soundtrack of this film.

If any cool motherfucker's out there are lookin for it ?

  • @HitchHikersBlues been looking for it for years! I know it's out there but it's too darned expensive to be honest - why isn't there a mainstream release?

  • @tjf4375 ...What ??

  • @HitchHikersBlues The Manhunter soundtrack - as far as I know there has never been a mainstream CD release, only an independent one which is always very expensive (if you can find it at all) Correct me if I'm wrong!

  • @tjf4375 Yes, you are wrong my man... I have it : )

  • lol!

  • @HitchHikersBlues dude just tell everyone you beat off to this song...its ok...

  • It actually sounds a bit like 80's porn music?? the first 1min and half r so.

  • @HitchHikersBlues how can you say this is a great song and then turn around and say porno music....

  • Manhunter is one of thee finest films ever made.

Anyone for a sprinkling of Mann's magic ??

  • @HitchHikersBlues finally something i agree with you about i don't know if its in the top three

  • Comment removed

  • if you like this song try crocketts theme

  • @HitchHikersBlues dude just get over your mancrush on colin farrell. if you want to take this movie to heaven and think its one of the 20 best.....you are a sorry ass film critic

  • @mrglennon11 : What are you fuckin on about?? ya twat >

I said Manhunter is in my top twenty of films, and it still is! Numbty.

In Miami Vice, i was talkin about the scene in the powerboat, which is a good scene.

And by the way, i'm not a film critic, and i dont like critics in general.

Which is probably why i dont like YOU! So go fuck yourself, idiot.

  • @mrglennon11 ...lol

  • @HitchHikersBlues Lmao xD

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! I LOVE IT

  • Graham's Theme, Gotta be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. Be alone, Shut your eyes, turn up loud and see where it takes you ............

  • @mplumridge220859 This is a great song for a long drive on a summer night at three in the Am going really fast with the windows down!

  • @mplumridge220859 My immediate thoughts as well. Very nice track.

  • The 80's was the best decade for movie soundtracks

  • @mystro810 80's was best decade in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY! Miami Vice, Manhunter, the music, the atmopshere...undesbribable. Take me back there!

  • This reminds me of Jan Hammer's beautiful work. Michel Rubini & Jan Hammer, brilliant artists that have worked with Michael Mann.

  • @mystro810 yea and michael manns films and tv shows exemplify it

  • If there is one OST I can take for the rest of my life it will be Manhunter, a masterpiece, no fancy actors, no fancy visual effects, just great actors, a great history and Michael Mann, lucky me that I lived the 80`s, thanx for posting this outstanding CD.

  • Superb. I looked for a long time to find this soundtrack. Michael Mann is so good at the macho L.A man style story and he has a beautiful signature silver blue light in which he colors his pictures. Wonderful cast but particularly actor Brian Cox who is so refined in his work here - absolutely great, great great. Thank you for posting!

  • @HitchHikersBlues whatever farrell sucks....i am 100 pct irish and thought he was horrible. he is only good in a few movies...very few. also i cannot believe michael mann did this movie. his music along with his directing is usually very intense that goes along with the shot. i guess the guy he used for manhunter and miami vice series was busy. what a disservice to his 80's creation

  • @mrglennon11 : Fair play t ya!

  • Comment removed

  • "you've seen these pictures! haven't you my friend".

  • This movie is one giant episode of Miami Vice for the big screen. Which is a good thing. This score even sounds similar to Jan Hammer

  • Just thinking the same thing after Sundance aired Manhunter a couple nights ago. Even the ending at the beach with the freeze frame and "Michael Mann" pop up! The last song is a bit misused, but this overall soundtrack is awesome.

  • This movie hit the spot, it had it all, amazing photography, coolest soundtrack, masterful performances [esp; tom noonan] and riveting storyline, Michael Mann is in a league of his own at matching music with film to create the perfect atmosphere.

  • Is there a fire in the sky...

Is there a moon up there...

  • @HitchHikersBlues "Do you feel all me?!"..I love this friggin movie so much!

  • ''Don't try ta run a game down on me jack.''

It's in my top 20 movies of all time, and iv'e seen a lot!

I'll be takin it to heaven with me, because it's God like...

I just hope they let me watch it !! :( :)

  • This music is so perfect for this movie and for it's time...

For me its god like ??

  • anyone know what the piece of music is when Will falls asleep on the plane?
