Sublime was more like a amplifier of music than actual band. Brad thought of himself more like a dj than a songwriter. Thats why he always sampled and dubbed and covered shit. He was a fucking DJ!! But the original shit is also fucking amazing. Sublime is favorite band and Rome does a great job with all the songs. I just found about Sublime with Rome and I have to say Rome is good, but that doesn't make me like the idea of him playing Brad's music and singing Brad's lyrics (essentially BRADS view of the world). Sure all these songs are great, that's why Bud and Eric and Troy are financially alright. I think rejoining and trying to call it Sublime is unneeded. Smells like "Alice In Chains" syndrome.

Also his voice works, he is from Northern Cali which isn't necessarily the nicest place, he has enough talent to keep this music going, and he's recording an album with them using entirely new material. I loved when they came out for the encore. They were great live.

On another note, I read so many people hating and giving their 2 cents on the new lead singer and to be honest, he's holding the torch that was passed to him very well. People need to realize that there are times members change. In all bands. And sometimes they do it to honor their fallen friend. I mean the original band members choose Rome for a reason. They must have felt he could honor Bradley well. He's done it so far.

I could not agree more. I was up in the pit that day, and if you actually SAW him... Rome was spot on. I was a huge skeptic at first, and my biggest concern is he wouldn't have the same vibe and emotion that Brad had. Rome EXCEEDED my expectations and I really feel he understands Sublime in its entirety and what the music and the message stands for. Rome gets my stamp of approval, Sublime lives.
