My uncle's 2001 Toyota tundra with 93,000 miles on it has a frame that is rusting to pieces (along with everything else under the truck) and has holes in it, and it's in the south. No salt. His 1978 Chevy Silverado has countless miles on it and the frame, along with the everything else under it has NO rust. And it's 32 years old. Hmmm...japanese steel es no bueno, I guess. A strong frame makes a truck, not only the engine.

@eduardosantacruz Toyota may be Japanese, but most of the Tundra's and Camry's are also manufactured in the U.S. The Tundra is an American and Canadian market only vehicle. As such, a majority of the parts for it are manufactured here. There are plants located in Japan for things like the driveline. But, if you actually inspect the build stickers, you can buy one that can be upwards of 90% American made parts. The lowest I've ever seen, was 35% American made parts.

My dad has one and i got under it and saw the most restrictive exhaust i have ever seen (personally) in my life. Man there are cats everywhere. Someone needs to come up with some nice longtube headers, and off road y pipe(no cats) and a full 3in exhaust system. Then this will scream. I got nothing but love for the truck. My dad's is a 5.7 and it does haul but his is all stock. He's been asking me to fix it up. If anyone knows anything where to get these parts let me know please thanks.

I hate toyota. People are allways like "o they get such good mpg and they give americans jobs" theres 3 things wronge with that attitude
1. Profit goes back to China/Japan anyways

toyotas are a bitch to work on... you have to special order parts and the are fucking expensive. Gm trucks are easy as fuck to work on and local parts stores usually have what you need for your work.

@eduardosantacruz It's in how you take care of your truck. I change my oil on my chevy dually every 2000 miles. That 454 beast is still running just fine at 631,532 miles. It's a model c30, yr 88, and the only issue I've had with it is fuel efficiancy. And it sounds like to me that you take better care your toyota. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. And congrats on reaching the 300k mark :)

@eduardosantacruz Toyota may be Japanese, but most of the Tundra's and Camry's are also manufactured in the U.S. The Tundra is an American and Canadian market only vehicle. As such, a majority of the parts for it are manufactured here. There are plants located in Japan for things like the driveline. But, if you actually inspect the build stickers, you can buy one that can be upwards of 90% American made parts. The lowest I've ever seen, was 35% American made parts.

I really dont think you know how the econmy works. I just looked and for every hybrid toyota sells for about 21 to 30 thousand they make 3100 which is closer to 15%. My dad has one and i got under it and saw the most restrictive exhaust i have ever seen (personally) in my life. Man there are cats everywhere. Someone needs to come up with some nice longtube headers, and off road y pipe(no cats) and a full 3in exhaust system. Then this will scream. I got nothing but love for the truck. My dad's is a 5.7 and it does haul but his is all stock. He's been asking me to fix it up. If anyone knows anything where to get these parts let me know please thanks.

Dodge trucks are made in Fenton, MO and Warren, MI. Ford (F-150) is made in Dearborn, MI and Kansas City, MO and the F-250 to F-450 are made in Louisvillie, KY. Sierra/Silverado are made in Fort Wayne, IN and oh looky there, Silao, Mexico which makes it the first truck made outside of US borders. buying a f'in toyota truck cause "it has a good engine" is a stupid reason to buy a truck. trucks are truly American so a Japanese truck is nothing but a knock off.
