After all it says that "great is your reward in heaven" if you are persecuted for the faith. I get called all sorts of names, even called demonic, etc, but that doesnt affect or steal my joy. I find it amusing that people with no discernment who dont know me from Adam think that they know me. I get persecuted a lot by even the best in the institutional church system of man. It just gets better and better for me because they are aiding me in building me up for the future.
Maybe somehow Bell is saved, but still it is written that EVERYONE will give account for their words when they stand before God. If he is having a hard time now here on earth being held accountable for his words, then how much harder will it be when God Almighty Himself holds Bell accountable for his words. If this path that Bell has chosen is truly th right path then why is he so upset about people "persecuting" him. He should rejoice then.
2 Timothy 4:3-43 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
I see no whining here. I see a man devoted to spreading the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. I see love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control spilling from this man. God bless him and his ministry.
@uncosu84 and it doesnt concern you that bell at the very least, questions the existence of hell, and his claims that all people will ultimately be saved?
@mikecorleyprogram Many of the original church fathers, and thousands of devout Christians and Christian scholars down through the ages have questioned the existence of hell. The Bible is the source of these questions. Rob Bell simply points that out, and goes on to say that eternal torture is not consistent with his view of God. Yet, he says he is simply speculating and encourages everyone he comes in contact with to accept God's gift of grace here and now.
@uncosu84 -I’m not sure where you getting your information, but it clearly isn’t from Scripture. People, Christian or not, have questioned many things over time, but that doesn’t detract from the fact that the Bible is the infallible, inspired authoritative word of G-d. Your comments seem to not affirm that, thus obviously the basis of your conclusions.
@uncosu84- The Bible isn’t the source of contradiction since G-d doesn’t contradict Himself; the doctrine of Hell IS totally consistent with G-d and His nature; we are not to save anyone but to preach the Word.
@mikecorleyprogram Once again, in Rob Bell I see a man bearing the Fruit of the Spirit, and I see a man working hard to share the Lord Jesus Christ with the world around him. I, along with many others, appreciate his work, and thank God for his ministry.
@uncosu84 - I appreciate and respect your position, although of course I disagree. I do encourage all of us to examine Bells, and anyones, theology and practice through the lens of Scripture, in its entire context. Thank you.
If Bell wants to call himself both a Christian, and moreover, a pastor, then it is perfectly fair and legitimate to measure his words and deeds against scripture. It is abundantly clear to anyone who is biblically literate that Bell is deeply heretical. If he then wants to cry like a big baby about the perfectly fair criticism he is under then I guess thats his problem.
So much controversy? Do you believe that the Bible is God's word or not? If it is, Rob Bell's teachings are heretical. If it is not, why call yourself a Christian to begin with? We can't change the Bible to suit our own tastes. Francis Chan beautifully articulates this the youtube video "Erasing Hell."
LOVE WINS YEAH!!!... SO IS JUSTICE!!! but love and justice are the dilemma that GOD solved in the person of Jesus Christ. But in the after life, the Bible says there is no more chance to decide, because is in Earth that every one choose or reject Jesus.
i disagree with the title of this video and the description. This video was clearly posted out of anger toward rob bell and not for any kind of positive purpose other then for the posters own self center desire to have other join with him or her and whine about rob bell. rob bell spoke the truth in this video.
@JonnyWedel The purpose of the video is to contend for the faith as instructed in Jude 3. Your presumptions toward my motivations for posting the video are unfounded. The plain simple fact concerning Bell and his messages are they are not based in Scripture and are in fact contrary to Scripture. I challenge you to prove other wise.
Ok, i want this to be very clear. You say my accusations are unfounded, yet you very much to be emotionally driven by this in an angry way. why would you say whining. why would you comment back to me in such a way as you did. I suppose all i can say is. I know that when i let my emotions influence my decision making i find my self doing things with the skin of a reason stuffed with a lie. It really seems like you are angry about a bunch of things.
how can i look at your comments as fact when they seem to be communicating emotion as well. which means i now have to factor in your mental state. i don't mean to be offensive but you remind me of a pharisee or a Sadducee talking about Jesus. you obviously know the word but that doesn't mean your right. If i Truly wanted to prevent people from believing in something out of love. i would NOT do it the way you are. Its simply a mess and i probably don't have to tell you that.
@JonnyWedel - You are making little sense jonny. to call me names or makes assumptions about me means nothing. the Gospel is what is important, and the Word of G-d is forever settled in heaven. if any of us are outside of Scripture, then we are wrong, period. and bell is clearly outside of the bounds of G-ds Word, not just by by discernment but many many others.
@mikecorleyprogram um... JonnyWedel was just saying that 'whine' is not a positive verb, and therefore your attitude to the topic was somewhat biased? And your comments do affirm this point of view also. Prehaps it would be more gracious and polite to use a more neutral term like 'discuss' over whine? Some people may just find outright negativity a little offensive :) this isnt a discussion over the content of Love Wins, just they way you represent this video. Thanks
@staygoldponyb0y with all due respect, to you and others who make the wording the issue...it's not about whether I think or described Bell as "whining". It's about biblical truth and whether or not a man who claims the Name of Jesus, is preaching truth or error. In Bell's case, what he proclaims is contrary to the Word of G-d and thus, it is heresy.
Yes, it is whining. Bell, is also adopting the secular-liberal meme of turning the Pharisee narrative inside-out by accusing, judging and condemning Christians of well, being accusatory. judgemental, and hateful. In their wolrdview, since there is no ultimate truth, anybody who stands up for the truth, and against their mealy-mouthed denigration of it is "hating." Satan is a sly one but, nevertheless, his tricks or grossly obvious.
How about instead of bashing Rob and calling him a false prophet, we read the Bible we use to beat Rob with, and show some LOVE and maybe wrestle with the question along with him and address the issue. I think Rob is undecided and is simply trying to figure this thing out with compelling arguments.why can't he just ask the question? lets not forget about all the people the Catholic church burned for saying salvation is through faith long ago.
@756isaiah Bell presents himself as a Christian and pastor and thus he is to be held to a very high standard. For whatever reason he took the path of preaching and promoting a message that is contrary to Scripture. The Word of God doesnt instruct to place nicesy nice with false prophets but to rebuke them and called them to repentance. 1 John 4:1-6, Matthew 7:15-23, 2 Peter 2:1-3.
@mikecorleyprogram But how do you think Jesus would have rebuked him as his loving father who created him, or angry emotionally driven jesus who's only objective is to be able to say "HA! i proved your wrong." as Christians we are all held to the same standard's and should conduct or selves in such a way. He is a fellow Christian and we have no place to judge his heart. Colossians 3:12-14, ad all of chapter 7 in matthew not just 15-23. Rob is not passing this off as a fact but is saying what if
@mikecorleyprogram asking a question does not mean he's promoting false doctrine. why not just try and wrestle with the question. For me theres a lot of contradictions in the Bible (God wipes out and entire civilization and speaks of letting the women and children being sold as slaves in the old testament, and then speaks of his love for the people in need and all of his creation) does this mean all my Christian friends should rebuke me and cast me out of fellowship with them?
@756isaiah [[asking a question does not mean he's promoting false doctrine. ]] Preaching the doctrine of universalism he is.[[(God wipes out and entire civilization and speaks of letting the women and children being sold as slaves in the old testament, and then speaks of his love for the people in need and all of his creation) ]] Our laws speak of murders, car jackers and rapists and no one calls foul. the Bible made laws for indentured servitude and people cry foul.
@756isaiah Thank you! I totally agree with you :) If our leaders are too caught up in their own pride to question their theology at even the most basic level, then the Church serves little point. Better to think and to question than to follow blindly, whether you are a leader, a new christian or have been following the Lord for years.
It's difficult to admit there is a Hell, but it's reality. Bell is in denial. Jesus said few would enter the narrow gate and preached vividly about Hell. This doesn't mean God is not loving, but rather God is a just God who eternally punishes those who deny him. Unfortunately, most people in this world will not make it to Heaven and Jesus was very clear about this.
I love a quote of Bell's 'Jesus spoke and the rest is commentary.'
I love Jesus speaking to the weary at the end of Matthew 11 'my yoke is easy and my burden is light.' Ironically, not long after, HE was challenged for going against established beliefs & next thing; the Pharisees plot to kill him!
The wisdom of the world does not deal well with its interpretations been challenged. In this I see Bell upset at Christian’s actions turning others off. Accusing him of whining is kind of sad.
theembracedofgod, justification is not the reason God saved you. Forgiveness is what God wants us to understand. Rob Bell still believes in having good deeds, its just not the only reason we get to live with him in the future. Romans 5 and 6.
I am loved guided and supported by the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that HELL IS REAL, ENDLESS, and that Bells teaching is therefore rank heresy.
his talk about the fruit of the Spirit may be true but evades the question.
his belief is pure carnal mindedness. hell offends him so he denies it, He refuses the offer God freely gave to him and all .
This guy understands, like the average fundie doesn't, that Christianity must change or die. Bell is trying to shape it into something more acceptable to decent people. He should be commended for that.
@cufflink44 Gosh, he teaches false doctrine. If Christianity must change to the degree that it ceases to be Christian doctrine, the we must ask: What is changing what? Is the Word changing us, or is the world changing the Word, so that it is more palatable for "decent" people.
@cufflink44 Gosh, he teaches false doctrine. If Christianity must change to the degree that it ceases to be Christian doctrine, then we must ask: What is changing what? Is the Word changing us, or is the world changing the Word, so that it is more palatable for "decent" people.
@cufflink44 If Christianity (assuming you are referring to faith based solely on the Bible) changes, then it is no longer Christianity. Also, according the Bible, there are no "decent" people apart from God's transforming work in us. The gospel will never be "acceptable" to unregenerate sinners until the Holy Spirit works in their heart.
I don't commend people for double-speak (claiming Christianity and then denying it).
I encourage people to read the story of Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31. Luke specifically at verse 25 “And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us”
Rob bell, Why would anyone want to repent from their sins, live their life accordingly abiding in Jesus if their going to heaven anyways? Justification is irrelevant to you.
@darkhorserunner I hope you have at least read Bell's book, because while your bible translation says they will go into "everlasting hell", Bellis pointing out the original Greek words behind "hell" and "eternal" do not mean or may not mean forever and have different meanings. Now if you have done research into aion, sheol, hades, Gehenna, and tartarus, and still believe hell is what is traditionally taught, then I at least applaud you for doing your homework.
@ShirleyCoralineJones I understand why Rob wants “eternal” and “hell” not mean what they say in the Bibe, because don’t match his theology. Why do think that most Bible translation them some form meaning eternal and hell because that is correct or best interpretation of the original Greek. The question is not if I have study the greek (which I have) but have you study the greek in the context of scripture.
@ShirleyCoralineJones I encourage you to read the story of Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31. Luke specifically at verse 25 “And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us”
@tylerhine777 it is not hating to call to account someones theology, if it is done in a spirit of love and truth. far too often though, people brandish the word hate when the comment doesnt suit them or in the case of rob bell, proves them wrong. again.....bell placed himself in the arena and context of christian theology by claiming to be a christian and a pastor and chooses to defy the standard of God's Word.
@tylerhine777 Indeed... no matter how much Christians like to respin the definition of hate, an unbelieving observer will see it for what it is. Such behavior serves to shoot many holes in Matt 5:16. This is not to say that errant theology and doctrine should not be challenged, as it most certainly should be... but there should be a big and very observable difference between hate and loving correction.
@tylerhine777 Luke @mikecornleyprogram said, just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean you hate them. In fact, we should be challenging theology all the time. Being a Christian is not a game, we are living for something real and something that's worth fighting for and because of that we should always be finding the truth. I disagree with Rob Bell but in no respect, am I even close to hating the guy and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way.
I know he thinks Christians are not loving enough (and in many cases he would be right) but to go the extreme oposite of that does not fix anything. Love is not always nice, which I have yet to hear him acknowledge.
Do you remember the story of the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25:31-46? The sheep are those who love Jesus. The goats are those who do not. And Jesus says: “Then they [the goats] will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous [the sheep] to eternal life.”
Hell exists; it is eternal. Heaven exists; it is eternal.
You are not on our team, Rob Bell. You are a false teacher. Repent and be saved before you lead more people astray and take them with you to Hell.
@darkhorserunner This is exactly what happened when Billy Graham started his ministry. Rob Bell preaches love, and that's what Jesus taught. If the message is love is wrong then I'm going to Hell, and quite frankly I wouldn't want to live in a Heaven where people like Ghandi who taught basically the same thing Jesus did philosophically won't be according to the gospel.
@darkhorserunner Your claim that the sheep are "those who love Jesus" seems somewhat flippant compared to what the verse actually says. It's interesting that in the verse the sheep are those who took care of the poor, sick, widows, etc.. but didn't seem to realize that is was Jesus they were following and serving, while the goats seem to have been rather convinced that they were following and serving Jesus when they in fact were not. Wonder which spent more time on youtube condemning heretics.
@darkhorserunner To say the sheep are "those who love Jesus" seems rather flippant compared to what the verse actually says. It's interesting that the sheep are those who took care of the poor, widows, etc.. and don't seem to have even known that they were following and serving Jesus, while the goats seem to have been rather convinced that they WERE following and serving Jesus. I wonder which spent more time on the internet condemning heretics?
@mikecroleyprogram That's pretty much the kind of attitude that turns people away from Jesus... Bitter, "watch your step or your gonna burn for ever!" reactions to anybody that talks about the good news instead of a God that's created people to throw in hell.. Just because..
@tylerhine777 have you read the Bible? Christ very much was straight forward in giving answers. How about when He said in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." How clear is that? Or in Mark 13:22, "For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect."
Im heartless? How loving and compassionate is it to tell someone, 'dont worry about it. there is no hell and were all going to heaven anyway', when the reality is just the opposite? To preach this is to be truly heartless and disobedient and God will judge the ones who pervert His Gospel.
Rob Bell placed himself in this arena of discussion by first claiming to be a Christian, and then claiming to be a minister of the Lord's Gospel. If he chooses to deny hell and maintain that all can be saved regardless, that is his prerogative. but it cannot be labeled as biblical truth. If is is to be a true prophet, he has to submit to true biblical truth.
To all who have posted comments in the last few days....the doctrine of Hell isnt a minor, secondary or trivial issue. The denial of hell and it's existence is a basic tenet of christian faith. The Lord Jesus spoke of hell more than He spoke of Heaven. To deny the doctrine of hell is to speak to the very core of biblical truth, and if someone denies Hell or judgment speaks volumes to me as to whether that person is truly of the faith, or not.
@mikecorleyprogram Mike it is YOU who don't know what you are talking about , and are misjudging and over judging other people without knowing the FULL story. Also, it is YOU who are whining.
@xhemexx - im not the issue here. take me out of the equation and bell's positions, theology even, is still error, because God's Word is the measure of truth; not me. Again, Bell has placed himself in the arena of this controversy, claiming to be a Christian and a Christian pastor, and rather being obedient to the Lord's commands, he chooses to attempt to redefine it's meaning with his own flawed reasoning. Hebrews 4:12
He is not whining about HIS treatment. He is upset about people being turned away from Jesus! How can you be so heartless? You have to be blind and deaf as a pharisee to see him whining about how he is being treated! He loves people and his concern is how it damages OTHER people when he sees christians eating alive one of their own! All over some sacred cow doctrine which of course is far more important to God than people! Have you actually read the book and seen its reference to SCRIPTURE?
I will agree with something I heard Bell say here. He talks about the lost watching the body of Christ not being kind to one another "at a basic, human level, let alone to those who are apparently on your team...you crucify them. If that's what you do, why would I want what you have?" Granted, the lost should be attracted to Jesus because of who He is & what He's done for them, but they are rightly repulsed by (satan's strategy) Christians dividing & crucifying one another over trivial issues.
This whole controversy has rather passed me by, I don't know much about this guy, and what he said, but he doesn't really seem to be "whining" in this film. I don't know enough to say whether he is right or wrong, but he seems fairly calm and measured in his delivery here.
I don't hear any whining. But I sure as hell (no pun intended) hear a lot of RAGE, hostility, and hate from people who really need to take issue with the Bible, itself. With the ACTUAL HEBREW AND GREEK WORDS that describe Hell as a garbage dump, or borrow a Greek word that was the beginning of the concept of eternal suffering.
The words are real. Their meanings are straightforward, or at least open to interpretation. The critics aren't assailing that, just the man pointing it out!
@mikecorleyprogram That's what I mean't. People think they are a good person but that's by their own standards and not God's standard because they think they are worthy to make their own rules when God is above all and is the only true King.
He is teaching love without the repentance & discussing Jesus' Blood. Roms. 5:8. God demonstrates His love for us. John 14:6 in red says, I (Jesus) am The Way and The Truth & The Life. No One comes to the Father except through Me." Don't be ashamed of what the Bible teaches. Rom. 1:16-17. The Bible also teaches the ways that seems right to man, in the end leads to death.(Prob.14:12) Run from anyone teaching anything different than that of the Bible, which Rob Bell is. Check out Gal.1:8-10!
We will be known for our love for one another. Not our love for doctrine or the right belief but our love for one another. What is the greatest commandment?
1 John 2:2- He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
1 Timothy 4:10- This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.
@whatthehellbook - Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, (Ephesians 4:15 ESV)
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10 ESV)
@mikecorleyprogram Agreed, we should speak the truth in love. Titling this video as "Rob Bell whines" is not loving and not something Jesus would have said. I'll stick with Paul's definition of love from 1 Cor. 13:4-7: Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out....
@mikecorleyprogram Wrong. He is TALKING about the difficulties he has faced since his book's release, IN RESPONSE to a direct question about those difficulties & that "pain". He doesn't sound whiney or even sad, until the end when he's talking about his compassion for the souls who are turned away from God by un-Christlike Christians. Don't forget, when you call him a heretic, you're putting him in the same category as just about every reformer ever. The only question is: Is he right? I say yes.
@DeathStrawberry15 Obviously the main difference between what Bell proclaims and what the reformers were proclaiming is that they were presenting biblical truth, and Bell proclaims false teachings contrary to Scripture. The comparison, other than the fact that they all faced opposition, is ridiculous.
@mikecorleyprogram Did you even get what the man said? Have you no heart at ALL? He was not whining about how he was being treated; he cares about people being turned away from Jesus and you did not even hear that? I agreee totally with DeathStrawberry and you have to be totally heartless and blind as a Pharisee to see it any other way. It is such a sin to love people more than sacred cow doctrines, isn't it? Doctrines that can validly be refuted from the same Bible they are backed up from.
he is NOT. his talk about knowing God hear and now is correct, but he denies eternal torment so undercuts the offer God gave to the world.
he clearly uses fruit in opposition to doctrine. this is a false dichotomy. God requires BOTH
they will never know Jesus if they deny his judgements, including that of eternal judgement. Bell refuses to repent, he complains about an angry God for that offends him.
2:01 to the end. His book's audience are the people who have obstacles preventing them from God. He is trying to let them know that God understands that everything is not black and white, that if you do not believe in God because you have witnessed abominations by Christians, there is still hope for you. He is saying that God's love will eventually overcome these doubts. He's actually advocating for God, and trying to show people to Him. He's on your side, Christians

@MatthewPietrus-the problem with Bell's theology is that it's JUST NOT BIBLICAL...and in the context in which he attempts to present himself and his message, that of being Christian, he and his message are radically inconsistent with Scripture.
@mikecorleyprogram ::About what in particular? Bart Ehrman says it is not the word of God, only the word of man. Any book that says a perfect God has hatred, jealousy, or wrath, cannot be correct. Any book that says that a perfect God would sent people to an everlasting torture chamber is wrong. Even as imperfect as we are, we would never do this to another human being. That is what Carlton Pearson found. It is what Rob Bell has found. Does any other religion have a nasty God like that?
I agree that "by their fruits ye shall known" (Matt 7:16) however, Rob Bell has taken that verse out of context because good works are not what gets us to heaven! That is not what salvation is, it is the grace of God extended to us through the sacrifice of his Son, and the belief that his death is enough to satisfy our sins. (John 3:16). Christ's love did win, it conquered death the moment that Jesus gave his life for me on the cross. He took my place, and that certainly is good news!
@igofighter Mat 10: Able to does not mean will. Mat 23 says you can't escape it. Doesn't say it's eternal. The lake of fire in Revelation brings restitution. Nowhere does it say it's punishment. Also, book of life is according to works, not belief, so cannot be referring to salvation. Check these out: 1 Tim. 2:3-4; Is. 45:23; Mat. 5:26; John 12:32; Col 1:16-20; 1 Cor. 15:20-28; Ex. 22:12-13; Rom 11:29-36.
Rob didn't claim he has all the answers. He's a guy who loves the Lord who is trying to figure things out. Instead of wasting so much time and creativity coming up with new ways to insult this man, we should take that time and intellect to weigh what he's saying and discuss it respectfully. And if people disagree with what he's saying, which there no doubt will be, it's better to disagree with respect and dignity than to criticize a man for something he's devoted his life to.
@shazmattack I really like your comment...it is very loving and I believe something Jesus himself would do...It is up to the individual to weigh and measure everything they read...everything has an opinion that is written...we should have respect and use our brains...God bless:)!
@shazmattack I agree we should address this issue and rob bell as Scripture instructs us to. At the same time, Ephesians 4:15 says we should speak "the truth" in love. Challenging one's position isn't necessarily an attack. In the context of this issue, and bear in mind Bell placed himself in the mix, we are also mandated by Scripture to test the prophets and to caxll one to an account for his doctrine, and in this case Bell's doctrine is clearly not consistent with the Canon of Scripture.
He's not whining. He just wants to help people and show them the truth and he's not going to let ignorant people tell him any different. Rob Bell seems like a true man of God to me. And maybe if you would actually listen to what he says, take it to heart and really want to know the truth - instead of judging him because you automatically think he's wrong because of what you've been told over the course of your life - you might actually agree..
The Bible does not teach eternal punishment. God's love and mercy endures forever. Does it really endure forever or only in this life? How can it be Good News if it doesn't translate to the afterlife?
1 Timothy 4:10- This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.
@whatthehellbook Hmmm, a little isogesis of 1Timothy 4:10 huh? Instead of coming a that verse with a huge universal lense, try reading it for what it is saying... in context. For instance, who is the subject in that verse? If it is God, than yes He is the only salvation (meaning ther is no other name by which men can be saved). If it is about man than yes... that verse is saying all men will be saved. However, the verse, if read intelligently, clearly makes God the subject and man the object.
Given time more people will discover that many of our medieval interpretations didn't reflect what the original biblical text meant. Rob just found that earlier and remains courageous. And not alone.
This is just PATHETIC!!! And here I am not even arguing whether his theology is right or wrong!! Hey Rob, In a mature world it is not all fuzz and bunnies! When a person writes a book and puts an intellectual product out there people criticize it and tell their opinions about it especially if it is about a controversial issue like the doctrine of hell. They have every right to argue and/or disagree even very strongly if they want to! So quite playing the victim and grow up!!!
@ritamalik I did not notice any victim mentality. All in the title but not the actual video!! I think people calling you names and accusing you of saying things you have not actually said IS slander rather than arguing and disagreeing, because you have not even SAID what they are arguing and disagreeing about. I guarantee half the critics and opinionaters have not even read the book! Bell was worried about OTHER PEOPLE, not himself, and that is when he got emotional!! He loves people. Do you?
ummmm sorry Rob, you are misleading people saying that there is no hell. It isnt slander! You just dont like people correcting you on your false teachings! If you really want to preach against sin, preach against sin such as homosexuality and adultery! Yes, these are sins in God's eyes! So condemn the sin, and love the sinner instead of embracing the sins being allowed in a Christian's life as you call people in your church!
@jrcook80 Homosexuality and adultery eh? Go to Rom 1 and you will also find envy, DECEIT (the title of this video is deceitful as it is not about whining but about concern for people who see Christians devour one of their own) gossips, slanderers (people who assume Rob Bell is saying things he is not saying without even reading the book) arrogance (the doctrine police) boastfulness (those who boast they have it all "right") heartlessness (I see lots of heartless comments here).
You guys are insane. This guy loves God, Loves Jesus, loves people. He is all about the kingdom, and you are all slating him for defending himself. Take the plank out of your own eye and start loving your neighbour...then maybe you should start praying for Rob, instead of condemning him. That would be a good start. Hateful comments are not useful. Prayer IS useful
whines? His heart is broken because there are people who long to know Jesus and can't because those who say they know Jesus stand in their way. I think thats a legitimate reason to hurt
In Rob Bell's book he redefines the meaning of heaven and hell. By doing so he makes Jesus responsible for the suffering that children receive. Also, when Bell says people in hell will only be there for a "period of time/age", it means people in heaven will only be there for a "period of time/age". Bell is a false teacher. You can read a thorough review of his book at HELLS BELL DOT .....NET.
Rob is not serious about Jesus because he does not know the true Jesus. The only fruit Rob will have is false because he preaches a different gospel and a different jesus
Excellent statements of what the Gospel really is! Rob continues to amaze me with his wisdom from one so relatively young in years. Thanks for posting this! Now.......let the negativity and hate roll in.
I can understand what Rob is truing to do, and I completely understand the desire to combat extreme 'hell fire & brimstone' Christianity.
But for me and my wife, we have suffered under HIS style of teaching, where people take is ideas as an excuse for a lack of personal integrity, and use "you shouldn't judge" as a way to get away with sinning against others.
Yes, it is about the fruit, and there is some interesting fruit emerging.
why must you be so callous? why must you cling so tightly to a belief in a disproportionate penalty for our crimes? do you really hate God that much? Is that the only thing keeping you? If you walk away, you'll burn forever, so it looks like you're stuck with him? how is that love? And why is what he's saying so blasphemous? why is it the unpardonable sin to believe in a god who loves, and is all powerful? how do you know you won't be one of those the lord will say depart from me to?
After all it says that "great is your reward in heaven" if you are persecuted for the faith. I get called all sorts of names, even called demonic, etc, but that doesnt affect or steal my joy. I find it amusing that people with no discernment who dont know me from Adam think that they know me. I get persecuted a lot by even the best in the institutional church system of man. It just gets better and better for me because they are aiding me in building me up for the future.

@DMLDisciple Are you saying that thissituation with Rob Bell was a matter of him being persecuted for his faith?
mikecorleyprogram 5 days ago
Maybe somehow Bell is saved, but still it is written that EVERYONE will give account for their words when they stand before God. If he is having a hard time now here on earth being held accountable for his words, then how much harder will it be when God Almighty Himself holds Bell accountable for his words. If this path that Bell has chosen is truly th right path then why is he so upset about people "persecuting" him. He should rejoice then.

@uncosu84 and it doesnt concern you that bell at the very least, questions the existence of hell, and his claims that all people will ultimately be saved?
mikecorleyprogram 3 weeks ago
@mikecorleyprogram Many of the original church fathers, and thousands of devout Christians and Christian scholars down through the ages have questioned the existence of hell. The Bible is the source of these questions. Rob Bell simply points that out, and goes on to say that eternal torture is not consistent with his view of God. Yet, he says he is simply speculating and encourages everyone he comes in contact with to accept God's gift of grace here and now.
uncosu84 3 weeks ago
@uncosu84 -I’m not sure where you getting your information, but it clearly isn’t from Scripture. People, Christian or not, have questioned many things over time, but that doesn’t detract from the fact that the Bible is the infallible, inspired authoritative word of G-d. Your comments seem to not affirm that, thus obviously the basis of your conclusions.
mikecorleyprogram 3 weeks ago
@uncosu84- The Bible isn’t the source of contradiction since G-d doesn’t contradict Himself; the doctrine of Hell IS totally consistent with G-d and His nature; we are not to save anyone but to preach the Word.

@mikecorleyprogram Once again, in Rob Bell I see a man bearing the Fruit of the Spirit, and I see a man working hard to share the Lord Jesus Christ with the world around him. I, along with many others, appreciate his work, and thank God for his ministry.

FuroraCeltica 4 weeks ago

JonnyWedel 1 month ago 7
@JonnyWedel The purpose of the video is to contend for the faith as instructed in Jude 3. Your presumptions toward my motivations for posting the video are unfounded. The plain simple fact concerning Bell and his messages are they are not based in Scripture and are in fact contrary to Scripture. I challenge you to prove other wise.
mikecorleyprogram 1 month ago
Ok, i want this to be very clear. You say my accusations are unfounded, yet you very much to be emotionally driven by this in an angry way. why would you say whining. why would you comment back to me in such a way as you did. I suppose all i can say is. I know that when i let my emotions influence my decision making i find my self doing things with the skin of a reason stuffed with a lie. It really seems like you are angry about a bunch of things.
JonnyWedel 1 month ago
how can i look at your comments as fact when they seem to be communicating emotion as well. which means i now have to factor in your mental state. i don't mean to be offensive but you remind me of a pharisee or a Sadducee talking about Jesus. you obviously know the word but that doesn't mean your right.

Thanks
staygoldponyb0y 1 month ago
@staygoldponyb0y with all due respect, to you and others who make the wording the issue...it's not about whether I think or described Bell as "whining". It's about biblical truth and whether or not a man who claims the Name of Jesus, is preaching truth or error. In Bell's case, what he proclaims is contrary to the Word of G-d and thus, it is heresy.
mikecorleyprogram 4 weeks ago

Rob is not passing this off as a fact but is saying what if
756isaiah 1 month ago
@mikecorleyprogram asking a question does not mean he's promoting false doctrine. why not just try and wrestle with the question. For me theres a lot of contradictions in the Bible (God wipes out and entire civilization and speaks of letting the women and children being sold as slaves in the old testament, and then speaks of his love for the people in need and all of his creation) does this mean all my Christian friends should rebuke me and cast me out of fellowship with them?
756isaiah 1 month ago

@tylerhine777 it is not hating to call to account someones theology, if it is done in a spirit of love and truth. far too often though, people brandish the word hate when the comment doesnt suit them or in the case of rob bell, proves them wrong. again.....bell placed himself in the arena and context of christian theology by claiming to be a christian and a pastor and chooses to defy the standard of God's Word.
mikecorleyprogram 3 months ago
@tylerhine777 Indeed... no matter how much Christians like to respin the definition of hate, an unbelieving observer will see it for what it is. Such behavior serves to shoot many holes in Matt 5:16. This is not to say that errant theology and doctrine should not be challenged, as it most certainly should be... but there should be a big and very observable difference between hate and loving correction.

Repent and be saved before you lead more people astray and take them with you to Hell.

mikecorleyprogram 3 months ago

@xhemexx - im not the issue here. take me out of the equation and bell's positions, theology even, is still error, because God's Word is the measure of truth; not me.

I don't hear any whining. But I sure as hell (no pun intended) hear a lot of RAGE, hostility, and hate from people who really need to take issue with the Bible, itself. The words are real. Their meanings are straightforward, or at least open to interpretation. The critics aren't assailing that, just the man pointing it out!

@mikecorleyprogram Agreed, we should speak the truth in love. Titling this video as "Rob Bell whines" is not loving and not something Jesus would have said.

@k0smon - What if the Bible is right?
mikecorleyprogram 4 months ago
@mikecorleyprogram ::About what in particular? Bart Ehrman says it is not the word of God, only the word of man. Any book that says a perfect God has hatred, jealousy, or wrath, cannot be correct. Any book that says that a perfect God would sent people to an everlasting torture chamber is wrong. Even as imperfect as we are, we would never do this to another human being. That is what Carlton Pearson found. It is what Rob Bell has found. Does any other religion have a nasty God like that?

@MatthewPietrus "God understand that everything is not black and white"
Could you explain what you mean by black and white, and if you mean what I think you mean, how do you believe God sees things?

Rob Bell has to be the most boring heretic i've ever listened to.
JesusMakeUpMyDyinBed 5 months ago
I agree that "by their fruits ye shall known" (Matt 7:16) however, Rob Bell has taken that verse out of context because good works are not what gets us to heaven! That is not what salvation is, it is the grace of God extended to us through the sacrifice of his Son, and the belief that his death is enough to satisfy our sins. (John 3:16). Christ's love did win, it conquered death the moment that Jesus gave his life for me on the cross. He took my place, and that certainly is good news!

igofighter 5 months ago

And if people disagree with what he's saying, which there no doubt will be, it's better to disagree with respect and dignity than to criticize a man for something he's devoted his life to.
shazmattack 5 months ago
@shazmattack I really like your comment...it is very loving and I believe something Jesus himself would do...It is up to the individual to weigh and measure everything they read...everything has an opinion that is written...we should have respect and use our brains...God bless:)!
earthangel3108 5 months ago
@shazmattack I agree we should address this issue and rob bell as Scripture instructs us to. At the same time, Ephesians 4:15 says we should speak "the truth" in love. Challenging one's position isn't necessarily an attack. In the context of this issue, and bear in mind Bell placed himself in the mix, we are also mandated by Scripture to test the prophets and to caxll one to an account for his doctrine, and in this case Bell's doctrine is clearly not consistent with the Canon of Scripture.
mikecorleyprogram 5 months ago
He's not whining. He just wants to help people and show them the truth and he's not going to let ignorant people tell him any different. Rob Bell seems like a true man of God to me. And maybe if you would actually listen to what he says, take it to heart and really want to know the truth - instead of judging him because you automatically think he's wrong because of what you've been told over the course of your life - you might actually agree..
masterdanification 5 months ago
The Bible does not teach eternal punishment. God's love and mercy endures forever. Does it really endure forever or only in this life? How can it be Good News if it doesn't translate to the afterlife?
1 Timothy 4:10- This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.

whatthehellbook 5 months ago
@whatthehellbook Hmmm, a little isogesis of 1Timothy 4:10 huh? Instead of coming a that verse with a huge universal lense, try reading it for what it is saying... in context. For instance, who is the subject in that verse? If it is God, than yes He is the only salvation (meaning ther is no other name by which men can be saved). If it is about man than yes... that verse is saying all men will be saved. However, the verse, if read intelligently, clearly makes God the subject and man the object.

So quite playing the victim and grow up!!!
ritamalik 6 months ago
@ritamalik I did not notice any victim mentality. All in the title but not the actual video!! I think people calling you names and accusing you of saying things you have not actually said IS slander rather than arguing and disagreeing, because you have not even SAID what they are arguing and disagreeing about. I guarantee half the critics and opinionaters have not even read the book! Bell was worried about OTHER PEOPLE, not himself, and that is when he got emotional!! He loves people. Do you?

Shame on you all!
1mamalama 6 months ago
ummmm sorry Rob, you are misleading people saying that there is no hell. It isnt slander! You just dont like people correcting you on your false teachings! If you really want to preach against sin, preach against sin such as homosexuality and adultery! Yes, these are sins in God's eyes! So condemn the sin, and love the sinner instead of embracing the sins being allowed in a Christian's life as you call people in your church!
jrcook80 6 months ago
@jrcook80 Homosexuality and adultery eh? Go to Rom 1 and you will also find envy, DECEIT (the title of this video is deceitful as it is not about whining but about concern for people who see Christians devour one of their own) gossips, slanderers (people who assume Rob Bell is saying things he is not saying without even reading the book) arrogance (the doctrine police) boastfulness (those who boast they have it all "right") heartlessness (I see lots of heartless comments here).

Hateful comments are not useful. Prayer IS useful
