I have heard Niamh sing live twice! Both in my hometown of Castleisland in Kerry. She comes here every year for the live concert for the "Patrick O Keefe music festival" My dad runs the festival look it up online if you dont believe me
@killekrankie Looking at your comment "Irish freedom and Irish culture go hand in hand" today seems rather how would you say, ironic? Lol with the imf ruling with an iron fist and all
@killekrankie Since the culture has lived on for years whilie they claim Ireland is not free, it seems that is not wholly true. But there again freedom is a state of mind :-)
i've been looking for this for aaages....i was literally in tears listening to it. an absolutely amazing song and such passionate lyrics that would bring a tear to any irishman,
Thank you so much for posting this lorgain2 - Bloody fantastic! Can't wait to be in Cahirciveen myself in 6 weeks (and counting) to walk that same street and sing the same song! God bless Kerry -- God bless Ireland!

And when the hills were bleeding and the rifles were aflame,
To the rebel homes in Kerry the Saxon stranger came, but the men who dared the Auxies and fought the Black and Tans,
Were the boys from Barna Straide who hunted for the wran.
