@indicafinneran hey, thanks for being a tolerant human being who respects differences in opinions and people's personal tastes. You are a credit to elliot smith who is a sensitive individual and would really appreciate an open-minded fan such as you :)
Sincerely and honestly, I'm not saying this just because I'm an Elliott Smith fan. But this is probably all around the best album ever recorded by an artist.
@FamilymanDisaster You could definitely make a case for it. I'd say X/O is probably, at the very least, the best album of the 90's ( I also love Figure 8 )
Why does this man understand my feelings? So sad we lost him! A veritable musical genius! Thank(whatever your version of God is) for his gorgeous legacy of songs! Thankyou for posting his songs!!!!!
im surprised that elliott didn't become bigger than the beatles, but i'm also kind of glad he didn't. so sad to lose such a brilliant amazing artist :(
@4l4ddin77 haha wtf did i really say that!!? i must have been baked out of my mind. in any case though it really is a shame that such genuinely brilliant artists are so overlooked when every retard from here to timbuktu knows who lady ga ga is. meh.. whatever.
"White City on the Yellow Line." Is this a reference to the Yellow Line train in Portland? I never much cared for the Yellow Line, except for the view of the skyline coming into NE Portland past expo center :p
@spittle Isn't the point that addiction follows you, regardless of place. That there are no "geographic solutions" to addiction and illness? I don't mean to trivialize the song but that seems to me to be part of the meaning.
Isn't the song about Portland AND NYC (incidentally both cities that I've called home). It references both the 409 (in "Rose City") and the F train. The F train is in NYC.
His spunkiest song.
