they might have been time ago. As far as I figured Jeepneys of today are locally made bodies using old, japanese truck ( mostly Isuzu ) diesel engines
Filipinos will breath normally if these smoke belching animals were driven out from the streets.but the irony is...driving out Jeepneys will only contribute and make over population worst ! Why ..? because, Filipinos will live longer , healthier and smarter without this brain damaging and cancer causing "deisel fumes" in the air .
That spot is in Recto near the corner of Avenida. There are a lot of pick-pockets, snatchers, drug addicts and swindlers in that area. Be carefull always check your wallet, cellphones, jewelries and other valuable personal items. I grew up in Manila, I finished my studies in one of the universities in that area, and I hate to see Manila still going down the drain.
Theres a lot of Beggar in the USA!! Go in Washington DC!! U can see Homeless there!! " U know what they will tell you" BIG BOSS" Live in the White House!!
No way I'll drive in Manila. It would be so tiring. Imagine? You'll never pass second gear because of traffic and because of all those people trying to cross the street. I could imagine that my feet will NEVER leave the clutch and break. Wahahah
Manila is the best city in the world. You can go anywhere even if you don't have a car. Cost of living is low and you have more freedom. you can find a store anywhere. It has the biggest malls in the world. American life is tough, most americans are still paying for their homes. Car insurance is sky high, they tax everything. You pay tax to the city, the state and to the federal govt..
@EnvyAbomination LOL pollution? that was gay. Hahahahaha Maybe some places in Manila are polluted but there was 7100 island to choose wether you want to visit or NOT !
@BENKATOK but American cities offers more protection and security than Manila, and im a Filipino speaking only the truth and I love my country, but the truth is the truth
its not that too many vehicles in the street...that cause traffic...JEEPNEY/BUS drivers are.... they are the worst.. unruly, no discipline, disobey, they are the reasons that create the traffic. its a fact... and proven for many years now...
when you board a jeepney, step inside right away and hold on to dear life because the jeep will accelerate and if you did not get inside and held on to the bar on the ceiling of the jeeepney, naturally you will be dragged. Jeepneys are not for leisurely travellers. go get a cab instead if you are. as to biking in sidestreets, it is a no no. More so because they are not wide and maybe a dead end, and they make the streets their drinking places. Beware of a filipino drunk.
Phillippines is a beautiful country. One thing I hate about the Phillippines, People have to sleep in the streets. I know its sad. All thanks from the Filipino Govt. Forcing people out of their houses. Hm by the way. I sure love the Jeepneys!
i've been on a jeepney. haha, i remember once we were at a stop light, and a poor kid climbed on the bus and begged us for money. he would'nt get off unless we gave it too him.
i tell you man, i was there last 2007 and if your familiar in sta mesa is where i was trying to board in the jeep. then suddenly the stupid driver took off while i was just climbing in and i was drag for 25 feet and there was this another jeepney right behind me and almost struck me as if i was like a sandwich. then i reported to the nearest pnp the next day i know he got arrested. i was hurt a little bit. i was told the driver was in any kind of being influence.
wow that sounds embarrasing..random people just constantly look at people like me they either wave smile or do weird stuff..i find it very nervous to me other incidents happend like i was riding a bike in a very poor part in manila, and suddenly drugged up street kids tried to kill me one of them puled a knife and said giv me your money,at that time i didnt hav any money..so i sprinted away as fast as i could but that silly little boy couldnt keep up with me.i also fell of bike So Where r u from?
