I love the Gospel Keynotes! It aint no gospel music like the old school gospel music. just like the old school love music. im only 34 but give me from 96 on down than the stuff we hear now anyday! especially the so called love music that only curse and degrade women! thank God for real music!
I must say that of all the people I have known in the quartet world in my life, I can say that Willie Neal Johnson was the most real person on or offstage. When he came to town, the first thing he wanted to know was how was my boys, and how they were doing in school. He cared about people. It was an honor to call him a friend. RIP Willie
You can have this non-spiritual new age so called Gospel music based on rap and false holy ghost. Traditional Gospel will never die. That stuff out there now doesn't heal anybody, doesn't save anybody. Check out videos "Gospel Legends" volumes 1 - 3. Notice how Kirk Franklin looks out of place. He has talent on the piano but he is fake. I feel much better now.
@pannellctp You ain't lyin' about Kirk Franklin. I didn't like him the first moment I saw him, he just doesn't have the inner passion, the passion you can see and feel instantly. He is a gospel clown, to me, a complete turn-off when performing. Same goes for what you call "non-spiritual so called Gospel music based on rap..." a perfect description of the hip hop flavored gospel, which just isn't gospel in the true sense of the word. Man I am glad to hear you say this.
You don't hear this kind of music too often. Because it's time has come and gone. Great for it's time but lacks effectiveness for this generation. It's good to enjoy and reminsce and give God praise for. I grew up with it playing bass and drums to it as well. Now it's time for christians stuck in traditions, going nowhere to move forward. Quartet music is priceless but not progressive or forward thinking and moving. Don't get stuck drinking old wine when you have new wine skins. See Matt. 9:17
gospel songs are not made like this anymore i miss the good old hand clapping foot stomping gospel music when it had meaning and im only 20 year old girl. this are the kind of songs we sing at my church the good old tradition songs. i love playing these kind of songs on the drums. willie neal johnson and the gospel keynotes are my all time favorite group
Thank you for posting this!!!! Love it! I grew up listening to them and seeing them in concert. Since my mom and aunt always followed them when they came to SC, I saw how personable they were with the public and supporters! Great men of God! RIP Willie Neal.
