  • Best baseball game ever!

  • Thats some swag

  • RBI baseball, quite possibly the most entertaining Nintendo game to play amongst friends.

  • Thought that only happened in Little League!

  • hahhahaha swag.

  • wow, that is absolutely funny! thanks... this was a great laugh. poor fundamentals on defense, of course, but a great laugh. thanks again for uploading. cheers.

  • @vinwald Thank you for the kind words.

  • that ball just kept rolling and you were showing bunt the whole time, why the hell was the right fielder doing chilling by the warning track the whole time???

  • @Sugardaddy86 He's just not that bright, I guess!

  • This was a recommendation for me because I watched an old propaganda video from the 60s. No idea why. :p

  • @AlwaysTheSameAgain A bit odd, yes.

  • I lived on that game back in the day.

  • black cartridge baby!

  • Is this leaked footage of MLB 2K13?

  • Ahhhh, the classics. If you're even older you would remember Intellivision baseball (or, for Atari 2600, M Network baseball, essentially same thing). Everything was considered a grounder unless it went for a home run. Craziest thing ever.

  • This game was my babysitter for many days after school.

And I still want to play it again....Maybe I´m wrong but didn´t I play this in the arcades and bowling alleys? It was there...next to Street fighter and TMNT.

    =))

  • RBI Baseball... What A Classic! I used To Spend hours Playing This. I Threw Lots Of Controllers Because Of This game...

  • Comment removed

  • I guess we've come a long way since then!

  • that was more like a hit then a bunt

  • fuck ps3, I'm playin this!

  • BEST GAME EVER!

  • Classic game.... This of course doesn't work head to head... Just a cpu brain fart.. This game is really fun head to head.... Classic classic game

  • That's an Ichiro bunt right there!

  • helluva computer glitch

  • brootal

  • I was in that game

  • i forgot benito santiago was as fast as juan pierre.

  • You can also bunt with a runner on third and when the catcher gets the ball he wwill throw it to the plate with noone there. I think you can do this at second and third too.

  • I once hit a homerun (over the fence) while Nolan Ryan was batting - used to play this on the NES system when I was a kid...one of the greatest moments in my video game history. Mark McGwire also hit one out that was so high pitched due to the height of the ball, that it almost pierced my eardrums!

  • one of my favorite games when i was young

  • I remembered when the coin-op version of RBI baseball came out. I had such fond memories of that game. Thanks for posting this.

  • thats a long bunt

  • @MegaBallerKid It sure is!

  • wow talk about shitty AI

  • lmao pretty crazy

  • The music ... I will always be able to hum the distinct themes of RBI Baseball for the rest of my life. One theme for no one on base, and one theme for people on base.

    Awesome.

  • Do this in real life now.

  • i used to play this game every dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back in the 90s

  • must have been Chuck Norris at bat.

  • It's funny how after he scores he runs faster to the dugout than he does around the bases:)

  • lol bunt to the fence i love this game even though theres so many flaws lol then again what can u expect from a 20 something year old game

  • your making a trick, bcs, that is not possible

  • is this Mlb 2k9??

  • i like the bass in the background...funny as hell

  • That's hilarious. Can't believe a bunt rolled that far.

  • i've done this in real life before

  • i'm just wondering, why were you filming?

  • @tdd10006 I deliberately recorded this for the purpose of putting it on YouTube.

  • stupid 1st baseman

  • i remmeber once my bro vsed me I beat him 42 nothing. lol

  • @GotFiredFromDisney that was baseball stars.

  • @ROMEYYOUROCK No, it's RBI Baseball.

  • @Tickenest My bad

  • that has horable graphics horable music i mean what is tht sone doo doo da doo tht game is gay

  • @149robbie you are too young to appreciate it. you're kids will say the same shit about the games you're playing now.

  • ahhh the good old days of video games

  • this game BLEW

  • lmao

  • best game LOL

  • Why didn't you just use the outfielder?

  • @Anouncr15 I was the one at bat. The computer was playing defense.

  • lol, gotta love those old games

  • lol. nice work

  • You can also get a bunt home run in Intellivision Baseball. Back in the days when they didn't have enough space to code the formula to slow down the baseball.

  • lmao that game looks awesome

  • omg i just got it to work funnest game ever

  • aww hell one of the best baseball gms ever back in the day loved it...........

  • Was that barry bonds lol

  • cool! RBI was the best baseball game on the NES

  • that ball rolled pretty damn far for a bunt

  • I remember playing this game a lot and getting quite a few bunt home runs.

  • This was a great game, argument solver in my house. Until NHL 94

  • >>>lol

I loved that game when I was a kid. It's for it's time right.

20 years from now, some dudes going to make fun of everything we have now. When they have virtual reality games and smell technology etc. hahaha

  • RBI baseball seems stupid lol

  • I made this play a lot of times. Never was muy purpose to hit a HR whit a bunt, but was a fortunate hit.

  • Was this the rare "Bill Buckner's Baseball" video game for the NES I heard about?

  • awesome comment

  • NO it was for Leon Durham.

  • wow thats funny. and a fail on the infielders

  • I seen a similar play like that at yankee stadium in 1984 so I say this game is realistic. LOL, too funny

  • I remember I used to have these 10-0, and 20-0 wins. RBI had the Mercy Rule so Id have 2-4 inning games after I learned to play :( Starting Pitchers wouldnt last more than 4 innings unless you threw a ton of curves.

  • LOL funny shit...i remember i had this game when i was little

  • Wow, what a lazy first baseman... lol!

  • why didn't the 1st basemen get the ball it was right near him.

  • He's programmed to go directly to the base when the ball's hit, even if the ball is coming right for him. That's 1980s video game baseball for you.

  • wow thats gay the ball just keeps rolling hahaha even for nintendo thats no excuse lol

  • this game wasnt made by nintendo

  • 3D Baseball, PS1, BEST GAME EVER!

  • Lol

  • LOL.. i remember those :)

  • what the shit?

  • nice graphics

  • yeah these old games really give you a feel of this sport. I tried playing MBL 2005 but it does not compare to Bad News Baseball or Baseball Stars

  • Done it. Man I miss this game. So much better than today's high tech stuff.

  • cool thats why those games are so funny

miniclip baseball is the same way

  • too bad this is the best baseball game ever....

  • Done that a million times, it's still funny though, nice!

  • lmfao

  • Its kinda like the 1990 New England Patriots in Tecmo Super Bowl! They were so terrible that year, that even in the video game you were GUARANTEED to win any time you played em!

  • I lost to them once. :(

  • anybody know where I can get this original awesome game for my old school nintendo?

  • sell it to u for 20 bux

    hahah

  • this video is HILARIOUS! I used to play that game when I was like 8 years old. It's amazing how ridiculously corny those games were especially when you compare it to a game like MLB 09 for PS3. Thanks for posting this, it brings back memories. haha.

  • It's an inside the park homerun. It still counts as a home run

  • NICE hahahaa

  • i do not think that was a homerun

  • Well, in fairness to Santiago, he *did* get all the way around the bases without being thrown out.

  • Ichiro!!!!! Bunt

  • This trick is the oldest trick in the R.B.I. Baseball book! XP But, it's STILL hilarious to see the computer chase it! Also, it has to go at the right speed! XP

  • Yes, it doesn't really get boring, and yes, the ball has to be going at just the right speed. Otherwise, you still get the effect but you don't get a homerun out of the deal.

  • Amen.

  • actually the oldest trick in the RBI book was throwing a grounder into the wall, so that you can nab the runner at 3rd, that way you could keep your no hitter going.

  • Really?

  • I remember a similar trick in Legends of the Diamond for NES. I've also heard you can do something similar in Bases Loaded. Must be a recurring theme for NES baseball games.

  • I did this everytime!

  • yes it is

  • That makes me laugh everytime!

  • Green ice. LMFAO

  • pretty retarded fielders

  • Only in RBI Baseball. Benito Santiago couldn't outrun to first base a groundball that reached the warning track.

Even so, RBI baseball was the most fun of any computer baseball game I've played.

  • RBI Baseball, Nintendo Entertainment System

  • Also, I bet you didn't know that it's Japanese name (which is STILL going on in Japan) is "FamiSta".

  • crazy bunt

  • LOL! I wonder if that ever happened in a real MLB game?

  • The guy on first base wants shooting.

  • Oh man, this takes me back. Good times.

  • that gave me a laugh

  • My cousins had lyrics to the music...usually, they were insulting each other....lol! Example..."Johnny's a jerk, Johnny's a jerk, Johnny's a jerk, Johnny's a jerk!" ...and then, the other cousin would retaliate..."David's a dork, David's a dork..." etc. sung to the tune of the music.

Random memory...anyhow...I guess you had to be there....lol!

  • lucky little meanie

  • AWESOME!!! I used to play this everyday after school!!

  • Great memories. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to throw a shoe at the TV when stuff like this happened in RBI.

  • LOL at the hitter running at 0:18

  • LOL nice spot.

  • That is the worst first baseman i've ever seen.

  • Jason Giambi

  • ahahahhaa thats amazing

  • The good ole gaming days!

  • SHANNANAGINS!!!!!! dude whoever was in the field could have brought the right fielder WAY sooner. bullshit bullshit balls

  • The CPU was fielding. They bring their closest fielder towards the ball, who in this case was the pitcher (all the other infielders were glued to their bases.) The ball was moving at just the right speed to elude the pitcher, and the right fielder didn't come get it until it was too late.

  • Actually for the guy that posted that this "shows how far video games have progressed", I would wager that it is just the opposite. For all the snazzy graphics in baseball games today, for my dollar RBI is still my favorite baseball game to play.

By the way Vince Coleman (and to a lesser extent Tim Raines) could pretty much go around the basepaths twice in the time it takes Santiago to get around the bags in that game.

  • The shape of the cartridge keeps me from playing this game. It's harder to pull out of the system and messes with the connectors. I used to play it and the others in the series all the time, though!

  • that's what she said?

  • Eh, you've got a point, but it's impossible not to look at this and think about how simplistic baseball video games were back then. But you might be right about the fun part. ;)

  • needs more Fred Savage.

  • lol

  • What the fuck is Fred Savage doing here?

  • w00t that was epic.

  • ROfl

  • Classic! Just shows how far video games have progressed ...

  • epic win! u sir are the man.

  • Thanks!

  • B^U

  • all I have to say about this is LOL and I love 8bit music. in fact, that's where I draw inspiration for some of mine.

  • You fail in epic levels!

  • Your level of fail is reaching biblical proportions.

  • What are the odds? 0.1%. You are wrong.

  • I spent so many hours of my childhood playing this game

  • RBI is great.

  • I still play this game, and thats not that uncommon. The AI is possibly the worst for any game ever.

  • "thanks to the fact that RBI Baseball is played on not grass but green ice,"

    lol

  • Galaraga was the man in that game!

  • Wow, when is this coming out for Wii??? I am growing impatient

  • Won't be coming out for Wii. Ever. RBI Baseball was a Tengen game (remember the black cartridge?) and was not "officially licensed" by Nintendo. I believe there was actually a lawsuit or two between the two back in the day. But damn, RBI is a great, fun game. Too bad they wouldn't have just paid for that little seal of approval so we could all enjoy it on our Wii.

  • Haha.. you fail at sensing sarcasm....

  • Hey, at least these graphics are an improvement over a lot of the Wii's previous games.

  • Best game ever. I don't even enjoy sports, but this game is just downright fun.

I love when the players get hit with the ball, though rare.

  • Thanks for sharing that! I love that game. OOooh and Ice Hockey too. Remember that one?

  • Blades of steel? "make the pass make the pass"

  • Great game, that blades of steel
