Well, I believe in America. Three thousand people trying to scare investors away from investing in Wall Street is not going to destroy this 312 MILLION people country, nor continue much longer. Seriously though--- diversify. At least split it among banks so it's covered by insurance. I keep the minimum in the bank to pay bills-- in case of "bank holiday".

In addition to Chris' website, check survivalblog, chrismartensondotcom, ferfal at blogspot- in regard to physical assets and preps. Lots of people contribute to these sites.

Food, water, fuel, security, power, meds, etc. A bit of farmland, heirloom seeds, tools. Plan for bug out or bug in.

@itsonelouder1 Physical PMs is the way to beat these Banks. They can't print physical PMs out of thin air. They control the PMs price with paper, something that they can issue to infinity. Not all people want paper. When these banks can't meet physical delivery demands, the comex/lbma will collapse. According to Harvey Organ, this default should come with in 6 to 18 months.

Thanks Chris. I am glad you said "look at the drops in gold and silver as a buying opportunity." In the long term, that is true. But I think with the intervention of the fed, it is best to sell if there is a further drop, in the hopes of getting back in at a lower price.

As for the next Lehman, I still think it will be post 2012. What we're experiencing now is a reaction to the Fed's recent operation twist comments, which i think will be temporary.

Chris, debt is either paid off or written off. Private debt will never be paid off at the levels we're experiencing, and ultimately the Fed won't be able to print fast enough to keep with the deflationary effects of massive write offs, globally. USD will continue to strengthen, and gold/silver will likely suffer big, especially silver. Remember, in 2008 the USD rose 23% as all other assets tanked.
