    I'm a sort-of beginner...am I missing something?

  • @windstennotsukai Guys can say "I am" in three different ways, but girls only use "Watashi wa." If a guy used it, it would be considered too formal in casual Japanese.

  • @natali601 Ah, I see! Thanks for clearing that up :)

  • Wow, your accent is really good, and you speak so fluently... It's so nice to hear non-japanese talking like that... I wish I'll also learn it so I'll could speak like you ;)

  • Your Japanese is fantastic. How long have you been studying it, and what method/books did you use? :) I've got some Japanese friends in school now but I can't speak very much with them, just a little.

  • tehehe! Neat! I love the language! IT'S MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!! I'm learning it right now! It's so much fun!!!!!!!

  • 0:15 nice shot

  • Sugoi!! ur accent is so.. good..i have been trying bt sadly no luck!! its been 3 months since i started learning (at school).....hope i improve! ^^

    ganbate ne!

  • @princessrose222 I learned in Japan, which makes picking up the native accent a little easier. You should come to Japan!

  • @CAJinKAGO haha im only 15 right now so..maybe when i am around 18 i will probably come! ^^ i hope so.

  • you have been in that english club for 15years? are you a teacher or something? i thought the club thing was in only school and im not sure there are many schools that lasts for 15years o.O?

nyself cannot speak japanese very well and not fluetly at all :P only a few phrases and words. But can understand it pretty okey usaly. Anyway wish i could live in japan for a longer period of time to learn more. Im a pretty bad student so i learn better when doing. Trial and error :P

  • @tnkanubite Clubs in Japan are formed everywhere. Of course, schools, but also companies, neighborhoods, apartment complexes, etc.

    Good luck with your studies!

  • @CAJinKAGO aaah, now that you say it it sound normal. Didnt think about it that way. Sorry. Well anyway, your japanese is awsome and you seem to have be a nice person with good humor. ^^

  • これらの人々は本当に自発的です..

  • @Virinlikesbeef I agree!

  • I think Japanese is such a pretty language.

  • @RobotWiWi Portuguese is better :/

  • @SlimPS3 They are both pretty. I just prefer Japanese. :)

  • @RobotWiWi I like both too. I have been studying japanese, and i love it i just don't like how it doesn't flow very good like how english is. You can also tell how good a language flows with the speaker based on their accent while speaking english. and i don't really like japanese accent, but mainly romance languages like portuguese accent.

  • @SlimPS3 Japanese is definitely NOT a romance language. And YES, it doesn't really "flow", that is the nature of the language. But if you combine it with the living culture, it is truly a beautiful language.

  • @RobotWiWi I know how you feel!

  • @SlimPS3 Than what?

  • @RobotWiWi Me, too! :)

This probably sounds awfully creepy, but I listen to this often, just because I love the way it sounds. ;)

  • @Classic1940s It's not creepy. :] I always search YouTube for people speaking Japanese because I love the way it sounds. :)

  • @RobotWiWi hehe, good. I'm glad someone understands. ;)

  • @RobotWiWi Are you learning it? Best of luck to you.

  • Learning Japanese myself. Its awesome that you are helping out your fellow students with learning to speak english! I will be enrolling in Elementary Japanese 102 next semester, and I feel like I will be ahead of the power curve once I finish these Rosetta Stone programs I purchased. Looking forward to checking out what other videos you have! (Also, it would be cool if you could caption out a translation for what the ladies were saying in both Romaji and english. It would help out greatly.)

  • is this one of these bitch house massage in japan? u are promoting ur girls in youtube?

  • thank youuu so much i love this type of unedited video...it helps me work on my japanese hearing native speakers hehe

  • do u make tutorials on japanese?where are u from,i mean ur r roots, cos ur asian looing but ya said ur american?nt meant 2 be rude jus curious cos u speak awesome nihongo XD

  • wow before you turned the camera on yourself. I was totally imagining a white skinny tall guy with blonde hair. hahaha But I'm glad that you were you.You are awesome at Japanese. Keep it up!!!

  • Damnn your mannerisms and Japanese speaking skills are like those of a native. Very impressed. If I hadn't dug and found out you were actually a foreigner, I would have believed you were 100% Japanese.

  • I want to improve my English skill~^^

    Can anyone study together??

  • @SUPER77LOVELY77BEAMS I can...im learning japanese now so we can help each other...contact me if you are interested :D

  • @WonderiousNeko3 Good luck to you. I started with only "Domo arigato Mr. Robato!" LOL!

  • Could you do English subtitles?

  • @dakoata121212 Hi! That is a good idea, If I can find the time, I'll do what I can. Thanks again for the suggestion.

  • i hope to speak as well as you!!

  • @Sullz Good luck to you! If you come to Japan, you could probably surpass me in a few months or so:-)

  • You are fluent :P

  • @itsangelicahaha Thanks, I got that way by copying native speakers. That is the benefit of learning in Japan, a lot of models. On the other hand, my vocabulary is painfully small, as well as sentence structure and grammar. It is a lifetime journey.

  • i wish can speak fluently like you....currently i learning Japanese too!

  • @pinkyyap88 Good luck to you. Try to get online and copy native speakers. That will help with fluency a lot.

  • 0:36 small teeth o__-

  • @xxMarlisaxx LOL! And that's not the half of it;-)

  • @CAJinKAGO Wow! Japanese girls seem to have a liking to you. I could be wrong, but it seems that way.

  • @CAJinKAGO japs had really bad teeth,haha

  • @240kankan Dunno its weird like a fetish is bad teeth in japan : |

  • @Gh0sty1 It's definitely not a fetish. The Japanese have other things to worry about to be worrying about teeth. Looking great isn't a goal there like it is here, so people rarely get braces. Being successful and making a living is far more important than looking good.

  • @xxMarlisaxx I think her teeth are so cute :)

  • @xxMarlisaxx I've never seen such small teeth and so numerous too. What an interesting look. :D

  • @xxMarlisaxx Easy to brush

  • @xxMarlisaxx haha

  • Oh my god, I would love to speak japanese as well as you.. I'm so jealous. I've been trying to learn Japanese for ages using several different programs and such and to no avail, nothing helps.. The best way is to learn with a japanese speaker. I myself speak cantonese, thai and english fluently already (reason being 'cause I'm half thai / half chinese and grew up mostly in England anyway.. haha). So.. If you ever want to help out, do message me! Would be sooo grateful! :D

  • @AnnetteSkye Thank you for your kind words. I didn't really "study" Japanese, I just sort of copied people around me and picked up words and phrases here and there. I've lived here for 20 years. I SHOULD be better, but I have hit a wall as of late. You are so luck you already speak several languages. Send me a message directly from my channel and I'll be happy to chat via skype or something. Thanks again!

  • @CAJinKAGO I have sent you a message with my Skype name! Thanks so much btw! :) I really appreciate it.. 20 years?! That's so loong, I would love to live there too and pick up the language myself, haha. I would DIE for it.. >.<

  • @AnnetteSkye Sorry for the delay. I got your message and added you to my contacts. Message me anytime on skype!

  • @CAJinKAGO aww you did try and thats all that matters ^^ im learning turkish at the moment but i might start learning japanese to

  • sailormoon man hemm maybe you studied japanese from a woman...well pretty hard not to since most teachers are, try to speak like a gangster ;p

  • @sleepup7931 Yes, I did learn from women and children. I feel really uncomfortable speaking like a gangster, and using the gutteral tongue flutters that are typical of them. Too rough for my character. I'll stick with as standard as I can get. I personally don't even like to use "BOKU" and especially not "ORE". Just preference, I guess.

  • CAJinKAGO-

I REALLY need help! I've been trying my hardest to learn japanese, but I need an actual Japanese speaker to help me. Do you think you might be able to?

  • @KatielovesV What can I do? I do speak Japanese, but I am not a native. I can assign one of my students to help. Let me know.

  • @CAJinKAGO That would be great if you could assighn me a student to help! And it doesn't matter if you're native or not. It's okay. I'm just trying whatever I can to learn Japanese. I have notes and everything but without an instructor it's confusing. I would so much appreciate any help at all! It's my biggest dream like I said before. THANKS SO MUCH!(:

  • @KatielovesV Just let me know what you would like me to do. Ask any question. If you go to my channel page and message me your email address, we can get started. Good luck to you!

  • hi!! ^_^

ehm... i want to learn japanese (and english, i speak spanish) and i'm trying to learn the Kana table, and memorize the basics words, but i don't know if this is the best way to learn japanese without a japanese professor, i can't pay lessons D: D: so i was wondering if you can give me some advices of how to learn japanese!!! please!! (=^_^=)

  • @Akane35000

if i were you, i would watch japanese animes / dramas with eng sub .... you wont really learn many japanese words tho, but you will get a good hearing of the language so it gets much easier to speak it once you know the words. if you cant afford lessons, you should at least get a book with a listening CD...

  • ha they dress cute and so r they

  • "What is miku?"

    Hahah they're funny!!

  • can they say big American penis??? if not i could teach them :P XD

  • ive heard a lot of people say 'ettoh' but i forgot wha it meant??

  • @soph2207

eto means nothing really, its like 'well..' used for a pause when thinking or similar stuff :<

  • @soph2207 Its eto, and its just like an "um". "To" can sometimes mean "and/also" so i guess its related to that.

  • chingchangtow

  • cute girl i envy u man

  • OMG funneh! I'm learning japanese ( trying by myself XD) ..... can you give me any tips? :D

  • You guys are so cute! Lol.

  • Kawaii Desu

  • I have to choose by this fall whether to study mandarin chinese or japanese . . . I have no idea which I should choose. In your opinion, why did you choose Japan over the other Asian countries. What do you think about China?

  • @SanguineBullet667 Sorry for the late reply. YouTube was being weird and all my replies were not being posted. Chinese is the wave of the future. At the moment, Japanese is a little more global, but Chinese IS the wave of the future barring any national catastrophy. Those are just my 2 cents.

  • very interesting i like these kind of videos :)

  • I have a question. and not to sound rude or anything. But you use watachi wa. not oru wa. Isn't this only used for females?? perhaps because you learnt from a female teacher.

  • @69sickness I personally don't like to use the masculine "ore" or "boku". Watashi wa is the standard from of "I". It is not gender specific. I didn't really study Japanese, more than that, I picked up the language going out with friends and watching TV. And no, not rude at all:-)

  • @69sickness I am japanese...when i see foreigner using Watashi,i feel he still do not speak japanese very well. Watashi can be used of course, but men use Watashi in only formal situation...!

Cajinkago, when you speak japanese with japanese speaker, you should use BOKU!! You must be accostumed to use BOKU and Ore step by step!

  • @69sickness watashi wa is not gernder specific and is more forman

ore is something probably only teenagers use, and its just the masculin form

  • @69sickness lmao its not watachi wa. its watashi wa!! And ore wa..

  • So do they think they are too good to speak Japanese? Japanese is a great language, and Japanese people have a great history, Western people have no history other than opressing its people.

  • Lol, they're so funny XDD This made me laugh :D While you were talking, they're all "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" At the same time XDD

  • Totally strange observation ... but the girl on the far left has really awesome teeth. I've never seen anyone with teeth like that.

I'm sure you've answered this question numerous times, but how did you learn Japanese and why did you move to Japan and what are you doing there now? If you could - send me a message I'd really like to know! I'm American college student majoring in Linguistics and would like to know what you're doing with your language skills. Great video! 5/5.

  • I wanna become a teacher in Japan, teaching English, Romanian, or French

  • What are you coming to Japan for? Homestay? Study? Good luck to you!

  • @CAJinKAGO

I hope to move there after graduation. People over there are kind, and I think it is a beautiful country.

  • @CAJinKAGO I wonder how old do you have to be for Home stay really want to go and learn the language best way to is to live with the family.

I am 27 if that helps any.

  • 私はカリースです!!!!

thats crazy, anyway, how long were you in America?

  • This really helped my studies by the way, this was very benificial. Thank you for posting.

  • Actually, I am American. Born and raised in the US. But I have been in Japan for the last 20 years.

Glad you found the post helpful. Good luck with your studies!

  • Wow I'm surprised, I couldn't tell from this video to be honest, have you been called foreigner 「外人」 I you really look Japanese

  • @CAJinKAGO How have you been in Japan for 20 years? Work? I find it, as being American myself, impossible to leave the United States. I am currently living in France, but only for 1 year study abroad.

  • 彼女達は一般的な日本人女ですね。
